  1. The Captials arrived really late last night in Toronto, due to some airplane problems. Lack of sleep
  2. Thanks for the report, great ice breaker!
  3. I am pretty sure the area is closed off. You will get kicked out if you try to get in, I hear some people even got a fine!
  4. light weight chair, from the look of your picture. Dress warm, bring lots snack and a big thermal of hot chocolate!
  5. Hardcore! I'll greet BOQ walleye next spring with my shiny crankbait and fat worm. Thanks for sharing!
  6. From what I know, avoid Flurocarbon as main line, due to their tendency to sink faster. But do use Flurocarbon as leader! I've been using Trilene Sensation 8lb for the past 2 years with my Okuma Aventa. both price and value. Remember to not over-spool!
  7. Good job guys! Thanks for sharing... I'll be out there as soon as my finals are done.
  8. Thanks for sharing I wish the fisheries at that particular river can continue to flourish for many years to come.
  9. Good fishing, thanks for the report. Blinding chromes!
  10. If it is the knot issue, I only stick to 2 knots. hook(snell knot)---leader---(parlamor)swival(parlamor)----mainline http://www.animatedknots.com/snell/index.php"]Snell Knot[/url] Make sure you wet the knot before tightening
  11. Did you mean 279? or 249? Cause I bought a Nanook 2 weeks ago for 279 + tax... back then I could swear there were 8+ units in stock at the back. Man they sell fast...
  12. CHILLIWACK PARKA, got one last year from Lebaron, $400 on the dot with tax. It was a special promotion. Like many said, I only wear a Tshirt under when its -10 or so, but if it gets -30, I might add a hoodie or just an underarmor cold gear. Very warm indeed! I try to not get it dirty, so I don't usually wear it to fishing.
  13. Congrad on your first catch! Hopefully you can get the Raven fixed quickly. As for lost fish, I run 5.8 lb leader and I use snell knot for the hooks. (my hooks actually doesnt have a hoop/eye) A good control of the reel while fighting the fish can also increase your landing ratio.
  14. with all this new tackle, you should catch steelheads like no tomorrow! Good luck this weekend!
  15. Nice fish, I see these fish have been in the river for a while already. What you catch them on?
  16. I highly recommend checking out the classified section of OFC and floatfishing.net and other forums. There can be some good deals on rods and reels.
  17. Very intersting hobby, thanks for sharing. I like abit of natural fur on my jacket. Coyote and Bever Canada Goose Parka, very classic!
  18. Dick's at Walden Galleria off I-90 in Buffalo, NY They don't have the vast selection as Gander, but you might just find some really good deals. At Walden Galleria, the regular shopping selection is pretty good, maybe something for friends or family as xmas quickly approaches.
  19. Good looking Walleyes! Lots good eating size, the smaller size fish definitely taste better than the 6lb + fish Now, you gotta catch them yourself. Let the learning process begin!
  20. Wish I knew that before fishing SUNDAY Rapala TD-30 (200ft of line) reef runner (200ft of line) Dipsey Diver set to 30' + Oh well, hopefully next weekend I can dial them in
  21. Nice fish! I can never fish well when its dark
  22. Nice meeting you by the dock, and congrad on your success! Its definitely not as easy as it seems to catch those fish, Lloyd sure have a lot more tricks to catch those giant fish! 4 hrs on Sun, nothing! 11hrs on Mon, just one 7lber
  23. On a positive note, this Coyote did survive! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/...--SURVIVED.html Amazing!
  24. Thanks for all the replies! As for the background, I fully understand the consequence of me not blacken the background. In future I might just post those boring pictures with my beginner float reel (Aventa) and the fish. I guess its better to keep things secret Lloyd, thanks for the roe offer, but I'll try to commite myself not using them. I guess its just like Bass fishing without leeches, minnow or worm. My dad and I almost finish our DIY planner board and mast, we could be on the bay as soon as this Sunday! MJL, no class in the morning! But going into class in the afternoon was not fun at all! You been fishing?
  25. First steelhead of the season, not counting shakers and grocery store size. Didn't keep any loose Salmon roe this season, forcing myself to use soft plastic and tying my own flies/jigs. Caught a smaller female earlier, quick release before I could get hold of the fish. (Riverwood pinkies) FISH ON! The secret lure, white crappie tube! It went up the leader, like tube fishing for Smallie Released to be fought another day! TRUE STORY, a very nice fisherman on the other side caught this fish again after half hr of release. Took the pinkie he was using, LMAO released one more time! When the time is right, these fish will hit anything!
