Grey Goose, hopefully the same kind they sell at LCBO (expensive vodka) -
I needed some repair on both of my Mercury Engines excessive warning horn from opti150, ignition problems and gas leak for the Pro Kicker 9.9 I bought the extended Mercury warranty, and using the warranty I should get most of the fees covered. I called every marina thats mentioned by everyone, due to my need for Mercury warranty, I brought my boat to Xtreme in Etobicoke. These guys look very professional, and hopefully everything goes right and they can keep the cost to minimum.

Need some service done on my Mercury motors. Any Boat Marine Service and Repair Shop recommendations? I don't mind travelling abit to get service. 1 1/2hr driving radius from Richmond Hill/Markham area. I understand during this time of the year, marine service gets quite busy, thats why I like to call around and see who can help me the best. So far I know Bass Pro (very very busy) Central Outboard Marine Ltd (busy busy) Im also googling for places, any help from you guys are great! Thanks!

When Crystal first came out, I bought a spool. Feels like those Waxed dental floss, uneven and fray easily. Fray = Fiber breaking (line snap) I stick with PowerPro, Red and Green.

learning how to properly use a fish finder/sonar/gps

No love for Humminbird? I really need some help to enhance my understanding of 997 side imaging. I understand the basic concept of how to see the layout, but actully fish, cluters, sensitivity and etc. -
Nice fish! The river you are fishing seems to be in great conditions! I have a slight feeling of where it is. Some one must've finished all their finals...mean while I still have to study for mine.

Tomorrow afternoon, I plan to take my 2 friends way back from highschool to catch some sucker. Ive had good success catching sucker at Duffin last week. After all the rain we had, the river should be pretty blown consider its Duffins. Im pretty confident with my location, but sometimes a back up is nice. New to fishing + lots of action = hooked to fishing I have not yet try any Rouge or other river in the area for sucker. I just want to have a plan B if Duffin suckers dont bite. Any help? pm if you need to keep your sucker locations secret (how far north can I fish the Rouge river? I understand most of the Eastern Tribs are south of the railway only, is Rouge any different?) I hope Im not asking too much, after all its only sucker fishing.

Fisherman, thanks for the reminder. I never targeted them, just remember how the board was bombard with the Laker Whitie report during the winter month. I took a quick look at the regulation book, thought it was "open all year" maybe the fine prints are saying something else.

you are right Terry, I just edit that. Must be my fishing fever in effect.

Just like to know what everyone will be doing on Saturday 25. There are just so many choices, I think we are truly blessed with all the freshwater we have in Ontario. Get out if your not, good weather seems to be a gurantee! (maybe a little windy)

watch out for rocks! submerged ones! I had to go through a lower unit cause of them. Slow down, pay attention. I learnt my lesson.
-
be sure to watch the signs at a fish ladder or dam. No fishing downstream within x number of meters from the structure. (don't remember exactly, but the sign will say)
-
open eye spinner bait... - easier for the manufacture to make - slightly more weedless - open eye has a unbent plane, I assume it would run more straight, where as a bend might cause it to go side to side

jointed-rapala(float) regular wide-gap hook for the senko type plastics,(more of a natural drop) HP hooks from Eagle Claw are pretty good. I really like the YUM senkos, cheaper and catch just as many fish. Gulp tend to dry up if you dont store properly, plus the stickiness. But the scent is irresistable to fish. Try darker colour tubes with gold or purple sparkles to them. Imitation of crayfish or gobies. Your red tube jig will do, or rig texas with widegap and cone weight. Coffee tube from Strike King, Mizmo tubes.

Nice to hear from you again. Congradulation on the new born, I hope all is well with you. Will you be back in Ontario? We can go fish together sometime again. Thanks for posting, I'll indeed apply these stream etiquetteof next time Im out. -
So this afternoon, I went to Angling Specialties first then Basspro. Bought: size 10 streamer hooks gold beads lead wire Blk and bwn hackle orange blk and bwn marabou orange blk and bwn chenille crystal flash All came down to $40 or so, which is not bad I guess. Got home and start trying things out. 4 wolly buggers (bottom right was the first fly, I didnt like how the hackle was very long in the begining, so I start to triming it, and got carried away, Im sure it'll still catch fish.) Lesson: use the hackel tip for smaller flies Some rabbit jig (the suckers actully hit these jigs very hard, when I set the lead close to bottom. Good alternative for people who just want to catch something) A box of goodies, some store bought. Thanks for all you who helped me in the first place! Youtube is pretty awsome, there was at least 10+ video tutorial on how to tye these buggers.

I recently picked up fly tying and have master the rabbit fur jig, and I plan to move on to bead head wolly buggers. For the BH wolly bugger, theres quite a few more material needed. Marabou, hackel, chenille, bead, (optional wire rib, lead wire) I live in Richmond Hill, I am aware of Angling Specialties, LeBaron and Basspro. Out of the three, which has the best quality/price? (I try to support Canadian companies) Are there other stores Im not aware of? In the long run, when I plan to tie a lot more flies, should I look for a internet stores? Recommendation? Thanks for all your input, Im just trying to expand my hobbie. Cant wait to fool a fish with my own creation.

Nice report! Ive not yet had a day of steelheading like yours! Envy. Whats in the first picture? a paddle your uncle holding? A steelhead magnet?

Cormorant Defenders International, honestly, are they serious? I really need to meet one of these activists and see how they can convince me Cormorant is good for our ecosystem.

You guys should start work out your arm muscles, pump some iron, sore arms are a gurantee. Better prepared! Enjoy your trip!
