I will most likely be dragging the whole thing by myself, so a sled base is a must, to hold my gas auger and tackle bag/rods in a bucket. Not looking for anything fancy, perferably light weight, and easy to assemble. So far I really like the Fish Trap Guide, sled, flip-over, resonably priced. Any other recommandations? Thanks

snell knot for all my hooks, except drop-shotting or trying to tie a knot in the dark. I especially snell knot my hooks for Trout and Salmon in the river, a faster, more straight hook set!

Went east of TO, within 1hrs of driving. A few creeks had small openings, very hard to fish. Tough condition for sure, hooking January Steelhead is not an easy thing. Last time I was lucky, today, nothing. Well the book that taught me everything about Steelhead fishing said Janurary is the toughest month to fish for them. I should probably start mixing fuel for the ice auger and hit the hardwater soon, well the temperature for the rest of the week is going to be extremly cold! Safe ice after that!

Wait till the end of this week, the temperature are suppose to be WAY DOWN! Safe ice for sure!

Can't sleep yet, but I will go steelhead in the morning. Cross my fingers, the river condition seems alright from the web info.
