Can't wait to get those lakers on Lake O. I'd say by the end of his decade we will be seeing LOTS of 40lbs lakers out of Lake Ontario.... Lots of 25lbs'ers to 35lbs'ers now..... Those look wonderful to tangle with

Steve replied to Gerritt's topic in General Discussion
there's a member on here, can't remember their name, who clearly works for the ethanol industry.... every time there is a thread about that evil crap, they are in here defending it.... ethanol is horrible stuff!!!! -
hot damn. that's about all I can say about that.... you are a one man machine!!!

Brian, if I'm not mistaken, the Canadian tournament was open to Lake Ontario...where all the big bags came from, including the one you reference. However, the American tournament closed their boundaries to the river only.... If I'm not mistaken, that is the reason for the big change in weight...not to take anything away from the Canadian anglers, but SO MANY of the "tournaments" in that area are just "launch points" to head out into Lake Ontario.... -
if you buy the orange safety pail, have fun with the cops. their eyes will widen and they will start to salivate with the opportunity to nail you with the flashlight part. yes, its in the orange pail, but if it doesn't have batteries IN THE FLASHLIGHT when they check you, fine. even better, if you put batteries in the flashlight, put the flashlight back in the orange pail, then leave it....the batteries will rust, and again, fine. when I get pulled, I take my orange pail out, and for fun (hey, we have to have fun too), turn the flashlight on, which never works, and say DARN.... immediately the coppers start their speech...until I reach into my rod holder and take out my 3 "D" battery maglight.... they laugh every time and say "oh, you've been through this before"..... coppers :)

or as the article said, cut back on phosphates.... but that isn't going to happen either.... my fear is all the kawartha's are going to be like the "bog" soon enough....or at least the mid and lower Kawartha's.

I'd just go for lakers..... more fun than 4-6lbs fish on king gear. start in 90' and work deeper. keep your balls 5' or less off bottom. some kings down there as well.

officers show up...they get extra pay to do so... but you may get it reduced, if it is a 30km or more ticket....if it is less than that, just pay it.

soon we will have a new star, brighter than the rest, shining down on all of us. Jen has continued to be an inspiration throughout this horrible journey, show us that life is worth fighting for. Wayne and Leah, you are both amazing parents, and wonderful people. Jen will always be in our hearts. -
as a boat launcher, you have to learn how to do so under many conditions.... ice, rain, and yes, slime. the 2 boats that went down in 24 hours didn't mention the other 30 boats who used the ramp without issue. I'm quite sure the launchers didn't use their four wheel drive, nor did they use their E brake. They likely reversed too far....the ramp is a deep one....back wheels don't even need to be in the water.

we are now into August....only a week or two away from the start of the "early" run...likely the early runners are staging as we speak. with that said huzzsaba, what I would do is keep an close eye on the winds....after a day or two of strong north winds, hit up the creek and pier mouths...there was a period a week and a bit ago that the surface temps were 55 degrees on the north shore.... if we get those conditions again in the next week or two, there will be some fish accessible from shore.... browns will be heading in shortly as well...they are an early fall spawning fish....if you aren't getting anything chucking spoons, try casting some bomber long A's or J13's...you'll find out if the browns are around in short order
