  1. you certainly had another great year Tony. I was really rootin' for ya to win.
  2. awesome report!!! so very jealous to see those beauty kings....but seriously glad to see someone on them.... great stuff!
  3. man...you had me slightly excited for a second.... i was up on huron this past weekend for a bachelor party ... thought maybe a fish or two made it past the wall that was built at ashbridges bay.
  4. west end?
  5. Look out, I'm running down your chute exact same observations.
  6. ahhh come on man....you can't ask a guy his fishing spots... :) taboo I tellz ya. but, with that said, there are enough hints in his post to come up with a very logical conclusion as to where he was fishing.
  7. keep an eye on the winds. it might be that two weeks ago the surface water temps were colder.... keep an eye on north winds....they'll blow out the warm surface water and let the cold water in... a few days of south or east winds and the warm water is back.... when you see them on the surface, usually it is because the water is cold (50's).
  8. that would be the only thing that brought heat to the west end of Lake Ontario in 2015. That - or tons and tons and tons and tons and did i mention TONS of Lakers?!
  9. Care to elaborate on that?
  10. confirmed. this was just a fish story. goldfish was netted in the harbour, and posed for the photo......
  11. la belle province is right :)
  12. Yep, that shows how bad Harper is. PC's out of Alberta - PC's out of Canada. Harper's legacy is ending ... right now.
  13. Well, i agree there... that photo has obviously been Shirley'd
  14. you know what, you're absolutely right. it has to start somewhere.
  15. lip service - at best. "encourage compliance" "some people may not respect councils decisions"
  16. not usually, but that that combo has still caught lots of fish...
  17. I'm not going to get into the harper bashing, although he deserves it more than any PM in my lifetime (I'm only 35). I'm just glad by all accounts he'll be gone this term. Not sure who is going to replace him yet (likely Trudeau, but that's ok....as long as harper is out. Time for change.
  18. no, no, much stronger than the floating dock tubes... I'm sure a more modern version of the material the Coleman Scanoe is made out of (as mentioned above). you can't break that stuff...but like also already mentioned, it's generally heavier than aluminum as well.
  19. you caught lots of beauty bass, but nothing beats the time spent fishing with pops how was the blue green algae? surfaces look pretty decent. for one trip, you caught a boatload of bass...and I know for every big one shown, a number of smaller ones were caught between. great stuff! you mention your father caught the one bass from shore...and a big one at that...how did he get her?...she's a biggie...gotta love fishing from shore those smallies will be fattened up and ready for you come September....hopefully schooled up and ripe for the pickin's
  20. try hiding a big king on your line in 20' of water, 5am in the morning, just out from a pier head....all the while the days fleet of boats are cruising out and you don't want to show the fleet that the fish are in shallow... my father and I have literally had 20 boats pass us and blast out to 100' of water while fighting a single King.... hide away my friend, hide away :)
  21. btw, great setup on lake ontario!!
  22. wow. not in a million years.
  23. these early polls are predicting change. (as of today, August 17th) Harper in third.
  24. looking wonderful!!!!
  25. True, but the previous New York State record Lake Trout was 39lbs 8 ounces, which was caught in 1994 (May 5th) - in Lake Ontario. I see pics of Lakers up to 30lbs every year on the various boards from Lake Ontario, including a 34lbs'er last year shown on LOU. Crap, in the last two years, 20lbs plus Lakers have outpaced 20lbs plus Kings two or three to one...at least in the west end of Lake O and the south shore of Lake O. Not sure what to tell you Doug, but tons of 20lbs plus lakers in Lake Ontario, a number of 30lbs plus lakers....and likely in less than 10 years, some 40lbs plus lakers.
