  1. We're still dealing with people taking fish from the pond. But lately, I've been seeing people releasing bass back in. I think my videos on youtube are working. People who visit there to fish recognize me from youtube. This means, they get the message I'm trying to convey to everyone.
  2. I believe the zoo is still there. I haven't been part of that park in a long time. I just stick to the pond area.
  3. Hi All! I thought I would share this with the fishing community. On August 1st, 2015, I had hosted a very successful Free and friendly shore fishing Bass competition at Grenadier Pond, High Park, Toronto. I've started a shore fishing league that is free to everyone to participate. I'm trying to start a new movement for urban anglers to compete in shore fishing competitions since most of us don't own boats or cars or have the money to compete. This is a great way to bring the fishing community together and make new friends. Here is a video highlight of the event. Move over CFL, WTFL is coming through! Also, we had a professional angler who participated in this event! Thanks for coming out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ewyW1BbDkY http://wheretofish.ca/league/ Tight lines everyone! 4. Hey guys, P.S. This isn't spam, not trying to sell anything or promote a business (my initiative is not a business lol). As part of my fishing initiative to bring the fishing community even closer, I've started a urban shore fishing league that anyone can participate in for free. The goal of this initiative is to get people to integrate social media with fishing and spreading positive message about fishing and the opportunity we have in ontario. It's not fair for people who don't have boats to participate in competitions and etc. You can participate in this league anytime until october 30th. It's more for bragging rights and posting your best catch. Here's a video: Here are the details on how to participate: http://www.wheretofish.ca/league/#wtfl Three Categories Biggest Bass Biggest Pike Biggest Crappie Basically, you just have to include a sign provided on my site or you can make your own sign that says: #wheretofish #WTFL2015 , wheretofish.ca, and your first and last name. Put it beside your fish with the measuring tape. Submit it for a chance to win a trophy at the end of October 30th. See sample below. Pike Catch GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
  5. have you considered go pro alternatives? Check out gearbest website under the action cam section. They have good alternatives for 1/4 of the cost. http://www.gearbest.com/action-cameras/pp_153557.html Review on youtube:
  6. Hello fellow fishermens! I've heard back from the City of Richmond Hill and MNR about the matter of fishing allowed at the pond. The confirmed answer is, no, fishing is NOT allowed. I've contacted the City of Richmond Hill to update their website and I'll try to get ontario.ca to update their documents. This way, it won't be confusing for anglers. http://www.wheretofish.ca/blog/2015/5/13/fishing-is-not-allowed-at-mill-pond -Ratnak (wheretofish)
  7. Hey everyone, So I vloged my fishing adventures at high park yesterday for crappie. Unfortnately, I didn't catch any but I caught a few blue gills on a bare jig LOL. I'm really happy that I bumped into a conservation officer and he asked for my license. There was this couple who were new to fishing and they didnt havea license with them. Not sure if they got fined or not but yeah, it's good that they are checking during bass spawning season. Here's my youtube vlog -> https://youtu.be/JwLEf4KONkg Here's my website blog -> http://www.wheretofish.ca/blog/ High Park fishing is truly amazing. I hope to change people's action informing them about respecting the environment and perserving the fisheries for future generations. -Ratnak (where to fish)
  8. Hi Everyone, I'll be casting my first line of the year in attempt to catch crappie at Holland River and Keswick on Saturday. Anyone have any luck so far yet for crappie in these spots? I know that there will be tons of people this Saturday since it will be 20 degrees. I'm strictly a shore fisherman only and I've been scouting different places around the GTA. I do not share honey holes, just public places that's accessible to anyone. Anyways, I will be posting my video report on my youtube channel and adding the full report to my website. For my youtube channel What the hell? Where to fish? -> Here For my website (under construction until June 2015) -> www.wheretofish.ca Good luck to y'all! Let's hope we catch some huge slabs this spring!
  9. I was fishing from the public dock. There's a boat house that has two docks that says no fishing on it. So it's fine to fish where I am.
  10. Hi All, I started fishing Lake Wilcox recently and the fishing is ok. The only problem with the lake is the lack of shore fishing spots. There's lots of kids swimming in the beach area and lots of novice anglers who tend to get their lines tangled or snagged.
  11. Hi All, So to make things interesting, I normally make videos for my fishing reports as opposed to writing it out. As you all know, shore fishing is really hard and popular places tend to be heavily pressured. My mission is to go to these places and challenge myself to see if I fish could still be caught with skills and technique. Even though places are heavily pressured, most of them time you have novices who only know how to catch panfishes. More bigger fish for me . In this video, it's just crappie fishing Enjoy!
  12. Hi All, I thought I'd post some more topics on a few things going on with the Toronto Urban Fishing Ambassadors. T.U.F.A (Toronto Urban Fishing Ambassadors) and Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation gets together to host a fishing clinic for CUPE Local 79 picnic. It rained all day but we managed to stick through it .
  13. Hi All, I've started a youtube channel that shows videos of me fishing all over GTA from shore. Here's a few video this summer with the bass fishing at Grenadier Pond, High Park. I'll have more videos soon .
  14. Hi All, I haven't posted in a while but I thought I'd post about the family fishing week event that took place last Saturday at Grenadier Pond High Park. Photos can be here on my flickr group page. http://www.flickr.com/groups/2258526@N21/ I will be posting a video of this year's event soon. Here's last year's video if you haven't seen the event at Grenadier Pond before.
  15. Thanks all! Snagged, what you described was the opposite. I use yellow berkley grubs and I have spikey hair. It could be me lol. I stopped using it and started targeting Crappie and Bass with micro tubes jigging.
