  1. I wish it was as easy as dragging the boat across a beach. Had to dig steps (with shovel) down a cliff and carry the boat and equipment, then go back up after. No beach just ice covered rocks and snow/ice formations to deal with to launch. Usually it pays off with great fishing. Need sustained northerly winds or its a no go. Some different species from last time i went here a year or so ago. Tons of big white bass were caught a year ago. Some walleye Usually catch sheeepshead Never knowing what will be caught is some of the fun. None of the above fish were caught yesterday and vice-versa. Always a variety, have caught rainbows, chinooks, carp (hitting lures), seen musky caught, etc... in winter here. Hard work but good times cheers, ehg
  2. Hi folks, Haven't posted for awhile since i have'nt fished for nearly 5 months. Was able to get out Friday night for little softwater on L.Ontario. It's quite physically brutal and dangerous to do this, but 5 months was too long to go without trolling or casting. The hard work usually pays off with some results. This night brought too many OOS bass and some brown trout. Here is some pics Trolling on a pitch black cool night. Some browns, nice little scrappers made it all good. Too many of these today since they are out of season. What you can catch can really vary in L.Ontario. Cheers, ehg
  3. That's funny stuff, Snag! Your 'Scottish salmon XXX' post was one of the funniest things i've ever seen but this one ain't bad either. The humour belies the fact that those are real nice Toronto winter Pike. Thats alot of time and hardcore effort you did for this post. ehg
  4. There actually is a growing population of walleye in western L. Ontario. Some are even caught in the channel where Frenchmans Bay empties into the lake, but you have to fish at night and be there at the right time. Here is one my buddy caught a year ago on a rattlin rap while going for browns off of Pickering but you need a boat.
  5. Great report for the year 2007! Nice job on the recoveries on all fronts. There is a lots to comment on, but i like the two pictures you posted below. Thanks for taking the time to post and share. ehg
  6. A bump for the great pictures added by others. Looks like lots of good times. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! ehg
  7. Real nice pictures from all! Good variety as well, walleyes, musky, pike, salmon, steelies, browns, bass and boats and cute kids, rounding out the fishing experience. Thanks for sharing, ehg
  8. Nice bunch of fish from the Toronto area. That brown looks silvery like it was in Lake Ontario not long before you caught it. Nice job, ehg
  9. The smile fishing brought to your child is what it's all about. Nice year for you! cheers, ehg
  10. Hi, was only able to get out fishing about 8 or 9 days this year, but was able to catch a few fine looking fish. No PB's but nice healthy specimens. Nice pike from early May at Toronto Islands. This beauty little 13 inch brookie from upper Credit R. in early summer. Nice muskie from Pigeon Lake in early October. Despite not getting out much it was a decent year. A thanks to the OFNCers who got out with me this year as well. Feel free to add pics of your good fish of the year! cheers, ehg
  11. Not much of a winter storm, but our first taste of winter here this fall. A couple of pictures from downtown Toronto (Harbord/Grace). A little scraping to do on my car. First shovelling of year. cheers, ehg
  12. Some of those photos are magnificent. Good to see you sharing. Thanks, ehg
  13. Congrats on the fishes. Another great report for youse this late fall! Thanks for sharing, ehg
  14. Great report and congrats on the nice fish. A 29 inch walleye is an awesome fish. Thanks for posting. ehg
  15. I've had some fireline on my most used baitcaster for 10 yrs. now. The line seems more supple, castable and easy to tie a knot than ever. Best line for picking out a birdsnest as well and seems to last forever. Fireline is my favorite line for braid/superline, I like the Trilene XT for mono. You should be alright with that purchase. ehg
  16. Those St. Claire muskies are unique looking. Great late fall report! rhg
  17. Great report, great photos. Thanks for posting the info, ehg

    Tiger

That is a real nicely marked, healthy looking fish. Too bad it's being there is problematic. ehg
  19. The 49 lb musky above looks tiger musky-esque. Unbelievable fish. ehg
  20. This is one of the largest muskies i've seen. Probably C&R record musky. Mike Lazarus and Ed Barbosa (in red). Don't think photoshoping is a tool for this guy.
  21. I remember Mike Lazurus got a huge fish with Ed Barbosa a few years ago in the late fall, next to O'Breins it was the hugest musky i've seen. Tried to post picture a few times in last few years but not allowed to do so. That guy must be good. ehg
  22. :blahblah1: :blahblah1: Oh and it's 'whether' not 'weather'. 'i'before 'e' (except after 'c' ) as well. You can't spell so much for your opinion as well.
  23. Awesome fishing in an extreme urban setting! SNAG sure makes that pike fishing look easy, you gotta put in the time for that continued success. Thanks for sharing, ehg
  24. Sure is a male atlantic in full colours. The slightly downturned, elongated mouth and LARGE black spot on gill covers gives it away. Despite what god (Nate) says, your right DMasse. ehg
  25. To some extent i say yes as well. He could score when healthy, but was impressed a couple of years ago when he was with Rangers, (after 8 concussions) Lindros got into a fight with Joe Thorton (w/Bruins) and absolutely pummelled Thorton. Maybe even knocked him out, can't remember. Hall of famer when healthy. ehg
