  1. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the reason why anyone would care....
  2. Can I (we) file a discrimination lawsuit? If the Nipissing walleye are in that much trouble a full out moratorium is needed at all levels, yes?
  3. I've lost count of how many times that's happened to me on Lake O, but it's cool every time it happens.
  4. I have money for ammo, but sadly no gun.....
  5. "Free Koi pond," that's hilarious!
  6. Thanks again all. No worries Bud, I don't see a "derail" just an opportunity to learn something I hadn't been aware of. Book marked the link for future reading. Thank you. Define a few for me Dave as I've seen the millions on your rod (I presume your an extremist).....LOL
  7. Sweet! Still my fave small stream trout Brian and that's a beauty. Shhhhh, be vawy, vawy quiet.
  8. I've got braid on my riggers sticks, no complaints. A little ingenuity helps though.....
  9. Thanks guys. Here's another piece of Koa (fiddle back grain) going on Floatman55's buddies rod in the next day or two.
  10. Safe journey Garry. Drop by on your way through if you have a moment, we can catch up on things. Cheers Chris
  11. The latest completed rod out of the shop is for Floatman55. It was a bit of an undertaking with all the involved requests but in the end it came out quite nice. Both Floatman55 and I are happy with the end results. Here's a wee bit of how it came together.... The wood is figured Koa, came to me as a 10" long block by 1.5" square. Here it is roughly rounded and oiled to see the grain.... After several hours of shaping sanding and finishing it became this. It's fitted with solid titanium hardware from Lemke (top shelf components bar none!). Here's a look at the rest of the wood components before installation on the blank.... Handle now on the Sage One 6126-4 blank.... And finally the now finished rod. Titanium Fuji guides to compliment the Lemke Titanium reel seat with black wraps and metallic pewter trim to tie it all together.... Cheers
  12. Agreed, but who lets their young teenage kids roam free at that time of night? Where were the now grieving parents? My young 20ish year old girls still have an 11:30 - midnight curfew on weekends and 10:30 on school nights.
  13. I remember at least one of those Joey and I was envious. Been a huge fan of AIC for a long time, front row seats will be just perfect.
  14. It was way cool to see you as well Peter. Yes we should get together when the nice weather stays put, I'd be up for that. The show was awesome indeed, my daughters thoroughly enjoyed it and we'd all love to see it again. As a side note the morning after the show I scored front row seats for Alice in Chains in Aug. Whooooo-hooooo!
  15. It was another great evening and way cool to see some of the members here join us for the evening. Thanks to all who came out.....*burp*
  16. Well as promised here's an update on an idea taken a little further. The front reel seat hood is fully encapsulated in wood trying to get a seamless flow from cork to front hood to reel seat. Cheers
  17. I'll be at the Brit Floyd show next week here in Hamilton Peter, hopefully we'll cross paths.
  18. I only stumbled upon it Peter thanks to an invite from great friend. You truly missed an awesome rare event show in your own backyard. Would have been amazing to have crossed your path that night, perhaps next time....
  19. What I saw last Saturday in Oakville, awesome show! Thanks Bud. )
  20. I dread the day it comes to my home Lew. I'm totally in sync with your thoughts no doubt. Marvin was fortunate to have you and your loved ones in his world every day.
  21. Personally I'd recommend nothing but if you must I'd avoid winding finish in favour of products designed for cork. Wood sealers like Thompsons are another option. Gun stock oil is also popular with some builders.
  22. Same here (40/40). Totally agree with the juvenile/parr comment. That would definitely toughen it up.
  23. Thanks everyone, truly appreciated. I'm not out of ideas yet and have some new designs in the making, I'll update when I think I've got a worthy result.
