  1. Hello Teressa and welcome to OFC. You'd be doing yourself an injustice if you don't come to the gathering at Lakair on Saturday, they'll be lot's going on with a big fish fry in the late afternoon. TJ cooks some of the best fish I've ever eaten.
  2. That's awesome Wayne and Leah. You have every right to be proud.
  3. Yeah, I'm reading it Dave. I'm only here now to take a break from lathing a cork handle and wash the cork dust out of my throat with a cold one. I have just enough time between now and Lakair to finish a couple of more rods so I'm afraid Simcoe Whities are not possible. Perhaps I'll find time to go to Big Gull next year though. Looks like a lot of fun!
  4. Three very knowledgeable and helpful people have already posted above my post.
  5. So no proof? Well at least you were out Terry, that's better than my day and you were in great company! Any shots of the spent lemon wedges.
  6. Rumour has it, though I'm gonna need to see pictures.
  7. Man that is indeed one fat football Brookie. I want one.
  8. Molson Canadian, Blah......pony piss.
  9. Yes but the Southern Contingency of 2 will be at my house on the Wednesday for the night. Looking forward to that, then Lakair with the old Muskiestudd on Friday.
  10. I thought he was one of the "Oui" people.
  11. Oh I love them browns and brookies and on the flyrod no less. As for the salamander, looks like an Eastern Redback, quite common in Ontario. http://cfs.nrcan.gc....thodon-cinereus
  12. How bout my two favourite numbers...... 24 and another 24.
  13. Looks like a bumpy ride...... .SATURDAY...SOUTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 25 KNOTS BECOMING NORTH ANDDIMINISHING TO 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SHOWERS LIKELY WITH A CHANCE OFTHUNDERSTORMS. WAVES 2 TO 4 FEET SUBSIDING TO 1 TO 3 FEET.
  14. If I'm not mistaken Mike the slow death technique was inspired by mayfly feeding walleye. Even if not, it is a proven method for wallies during the hatch.
  15. On Nipissing, no. I have however caught a few incidental walleye on sub surface nymphs fishing a floating line while targeting whitefish. I'm certain that had I switched to a sinking line to get down closer to the bottom that I may have tagged more walleye. One of these days (years) I would like to bring the fly rod up to Lakair and try for walleye during the big hatch.
  16. That would be terrific Bernie, I hope you can swing it as it would be great to see you!
  17. The "shadfly" is a mayfly. Not sure where the shadfly term comes from but I can assure you it is a mayfly, specifically the "Hexagenia" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayfly
  18. I noticed a few mayfly nymph sheds on the water at Bernies while we were there Gerritt. I'm guessing it'll be in full swing by the Lakair weekend. No worries though, there are ways to get 'em.
  19. Apparently......http://www.ofncommun...showtopic=44166

  23. Ya, that's it.
  24. You're too kind Wayne.
