  1. I would remove the line guard unless your proficient at wallis casting.
  2. When we used them years ago , keeping up to a charging bow was the problem. The retrieve speed was the problem the drag wasn't a problem. Newer reels have better retrieve speeds and better drags. I still use my 301 for perch occasionally.
  3. Glad to hear your Ralphie has his sight back. Definitely talk to the principal unless it was the principal that approached you.

  14. In lake Erie I've read that some charter boats drag a length of chain to attract fish. I've only used drift socks and pails to slow my boat. I prefer drift socks to pails.
