  1. yes it can but i think you need some sort of data connection. I use my phone as a wifi hotspot to my other devices. vance
  2. If you only use it occasionally either will work BUT they will break and leave you with an unattached box far from home (been there). A little shot of rust check will stop it from rusting..
  3. Time for a couple of locking gas caps !!!
  4. Looks good, I had a 01 40hp version of that motor and never had a problem in 15 years.. vance
  5. I bought one of these in 2001 with the same hull but slightly different interior configuration and I loved it up till last year when I sold it to a friend and he loves it. Other than 3 screws that always seemed to work loose in the course of a year I never had an issue. The console does take up a bit of room especially with 3 in the boat. It is not a big water boat, not that you couldn't use it there but only under ideal conditions. vance
  6. The overall size doesnt matter, from stock the fronts are smaller and they should remain that way because of the gear ratios in the axles account for the fact that they turn faster. If you want bigger tires you should maintain the size differences between fronts and rears. vance
  7. The whole tire size thing boils down to different sizes have different diameters.Your atv was designed with certain tires sizes to match the front and rear gear ratios. If the front and rears dont match one will be be trying to go ether faster or slow than the other. this puts strain on the drive line and extra wear on the tires.Snow and ice thats not much of a problem but on hard gravel and pavement it is a real tire killer. vance
  8. The few times that I have been on the ice whether towing a trailer or not I have found it is how deep the snow is the limiting factor. You can only push so much snow, eventually your tires are not touching the ice (high siding). We were at a hunting camp a few years back ice fishing and it snowed heavily while we were there,we had a half a kilometer to get back to the main snowmobile track on the lake.. Luckily we were eventually able to make a trail (4 hrs) and the guy with the sled towed each of us out to the trail. On ice i am sure it doesnt really matter radial or not traction is limited, studs would have helped but you wouldnt like what they would do to the bed of your truck !! I run Black Diamonds but never have run them in the snow but I dont see any reason why they would any better in the snow as all atv tires are not winter rated. I really dont think you can go wrong with most tires but you have to consider the tread pattern for where you are riding. I ride a wide variety of trails gravel-sand - shallow mud - rocky and I got a good deal. They have a fairly heavy lug pattern which is great on the rears but on hard packed and paved roads in gives a real buzz to the handle bars. Most of the time I dont run 4x4 as they will go thru most stuff except those muddy water holes 2wd.My experience is cheap doesnt last, my black diamonds have 7,000 k on them and I am sure I can get another 3-4 k out of them this summer. vance
  9. Apparently low temp alarms are difficult to find if available at all . My friend the alarm tech said just to take your detector home with you and turn it on when the shack warms up. vance
  10. Sweet ride it will last you many many many years !! vance
  11. I just fired off a message to a friend who is a fire alarm tech to see if there is one. vance
  12. I atv in Mattawa with access to thousands of kilometers of trails,in the summer there are about 20 of us in our trailer park that ride at least three times a week. Most people just use what came on their bikes with no real issues because we dont hit the big mud holes and water crossings. The stock tires that came on my Suzuki were used on the ice a few times but chains sure would have been nice. Two of the younger bunch way up sized their tires and have broken just about everything that they could break,if you up size dont go more than one size.My stock tires where replaced at 6,000 k and still had tread left and worked okay. If you do replace tire go to radials like I did as you get a better ride and traction. From what I have been told after market rims have a different offset and should be replaced a set of four. Yamaha makes a great atv and with the diff lock on you will be amazed where you can go !!! vance
  13. My guess is a battery vent tube or a carb drain tube, but definitely a drain of some sort . vance
  14. If you are going to replace the wire cable with synthetic rope you have to replace the guide rollers as well(they come as a set) because the wire will have put small gouges and sharp metal bits on the rollers that will chew up the synthetic rope. vance
  15. DEFINITION of a POLITION liar and a cheat so I didnt expect anything else,so sad !!!!
  16. Well if you are going to watch the Grey Cup on Sunday you JUST HAVE TO WATCH the Vanier Cup on Saturday when the Montreal Carabins meet the B.C. Thunderbirds for the CIS Football championship. Quite often this is a better game than the Grey Cup. vance
  17. Just so you know Yamaha, suzuki use a an internal wet clutch to drive the cvt not sure about honda but all the rest use the belt as a clutch. I have 13k in 4 years on my suzuki with no issues !!! vance
  18. We have been out picking Lobster claws for few weeks now. I am good at finding them for everyone else but havent had any. vance
  19. We where out atving around mattawa 2 weeks ago and we were stopped from using the road while they were spraying. Same signs. We were told that as soon as they stopped spraying we could continue on our way which we did. Were told we didn't have anything to worry about the insecticide they were using which was for bud worms. vance
  20. Oh my god CANADAVE just after i found this site i got into a big fight about pwc's at 3am after i got off work. live and learn..... vance
  21. All these are great ideas or you can go to one of the big box stores and buy the el cheapo tin crap that you can see bend as you drive up the ramp.My buddy has one and has had it rewelded several times !!!! If you are going to keep it DON"T cheap out, buy it once look after it and it will last a life time. vance
  22. One good thing is that when we were out atving in Mattawa today was that the dragon flies are out in force. vance
  23. I have a Micro-Start XP-3 which is slightly larger and I have charged my phone multiple times with it,started a car with a dead battery as well as a boat with a dead battery and boosted several atvs with no problems.I have yet to get it to the point where its battery is to low to do anything. They specifically tell you that it is not to be used to run motors or other electronics as it is not designed to do so and will ruin the battery. So other than charging your cell and boosting a vehicle battery you are out of luck. vance
  24. If the place you are looking at has city water and sewer it would be perfect but if it doesn't and runs off lake water the stuff you have to do to your water and sewage systems is expensive. There are quite a few parks that have closed up because they can't meet the requirements for safe drinking water and a proper septic system. Vance
  25. Raf I have had the same issue before and after I deleted all my cookies and rebooted the computer I was good to go and I have no idea which fixed it. vance
