  1. Clip on polarized lenses are a good option but they don't provide the protection that overs do.The trouble with overs is finding ones that actually fit especially if your glasses are wide. The best for your buck are the ones that I always buy at the fishing show for $20. vance
  2. if you want to use it for snowmobile trails or atv trails get the Backroads ontario map. Its not cheap $150 but it has trails on there from the 1930's onward.I use it on my atv and for the most part it is deadly accurate. vance
  3. I never use to wear my pfd because i had it in the boat then i decided to see if i could put it on when in the water,NOT A CHANCE. I have friends who have worn inflatables for years but none of them have EVER tested them to see if they still work and if they work as designed. vance
  4. I just used some wheel bearing grease that i had sitting around but just about anything would do. vance
  5. The same thing was happening to me and after trying a most of the things mentioned here I lubricated the track the wheels run in. The problem was immediately solved and the door was a lot quieter to boot. vance

  9. The practicing part with a plug on land is a good idea but it will leave all kinds of nicks in your line that will cause the line to break when you get a fish on,so I would suggest that you re spool before you go fishing. vance
  10. Princess auto is the place to go as they have most sizes mounted and unmounted in stock. vance
  11. You should consider Sid Turcotte Park in Mattawa, with the Mattawa and Ottawa rivers at your door step there is an amazing amount of water to fish.I am a seasonal there and will show you a few spots.. vance
  12. I can see the press field day now if a copter was shot down breaking out prisoners and crashed into a populated area killing innocent people. If they can't high speed chase fleeing felons with cars they certainly won't be allowed to shoot them down in a copter. vance
  13. you never did say what you where towing with but I know that the factory hitch on my 2010 gmc has a LARGER inside diameter than any receivers that you can buy. Mine thumped around quite a bit until I shimmed it with some sheet metal and now all is good. vance
  14. The spray insulation foam will absorb water, what you need is closed cell foam like they use for docks which I know home depot has but you will have to cut it to fit. vance
  15. This is what I did for my buddy and his wife for their cottage. Step 1-,got a large old circular saw blade(30in),Step 2- got a buddy to clean it up,Step 3- I took lots of pics of the cottage from the water, step 4 - had an artist friend paint on the saw blade a picture of the cottage.Everybody LOVED it...Ok it did take about a year to put this all together but it worked out great. vance

  21. I have 2 kinds of ramps, the 2 piece folding which I hate and the 1 piece trifold which i love. The biggest thing about either is that the ramps will move out from under the tailgate as you load or unload,I solved this by bolting chains on to the ramp and with a quick release attached them to the cargo tie down in the back of the truck and no more worries. vance
  22. Went to Port Perry at noon today, the water has the boat launch covered and no ice to be seen from there. vance
