  1. Possession lomit is 0 with conservation liscence. With sport liscence it is 1, but the minimum length varies between waterbodies. (Musky regs) Better to be safe than sorry, and just release them for someone else to catch....
  2. Just because a website posts a theory ( that is Bull) doesnt make it true. Possibly one of the dumbest things Ive ever read! Ha ha
  3. Certain parts of the bay and the French are better for numbers. Georgian bay has bigger fish on average, and as Im sure you know , exist in a very low density. The French definately has some giants in it as well, but its not a numbers game like the kawarthas....
  4. I have been out 3 times as well with nothing to show for it. This time of year is usually great. The big cold front before the opener definately didnt help. Keep puttinin the hours, and they will bite.
  5. Lowrance Elite 5. $550. Comes with gold navionics chip. Great unit for the money!
  6. Ive got one too. Cheap, reliable, tons of power, and terrible on fuel....
  7. U have never caught a Musky have you....my advise would be to go with someone who knows what they are doing. (to a body of water that is actually open for Musky). Have proper release tools... Hook cutters. Musky net, or cradle etc. heavy rod, reel and line. Its a huge learning curve to catch a Musky anyway, and not recommended in a canoe.
  8. Times 2. Season closed!!!!
  9. They are there, and prob some real big ones.... Same as Georgian bay. Very low density. You can go for days without even as much as a follow.
  10. Small baits are for the southern states in spring where Musky is open all year.(march/april). Find fresh weed growth close to areas that look like good spawning ground, and there will prob be some skis close by. Getting them to bite is a different story. Starting with a bucktail is a great idea, and change to something slower if you arent seeing any action. Let us know how you do.
  11. Wont be long before u see Asian Carp in those supermarkets.... Alive!
  12. Saw the same thing on Cooks bay on saturday. Have never seen anything like it before. Lots of floaters in the shallow water. Guy I was with who fishes the lake several times a week said he has never seen it before either. Cause forconcern if u ask me....
  13. Do you throw 12 inch Musky baits for Perch? Didnt think so....
  14. Gotta protect their ass from P3TA and the tree huggers....
  15. Ill take that bet. How exactly is it making people suffer,or change their lives? And every study shows there is a mortality rate? Maybe 1 in 100 fish for a true Musky angler. As top of the food chain, they exist in low numbers. Same as lions, tigers etc. absolutely no Good reason to ever keep one, and there should be no possession limit all across Ontario. Guess you shouldnt comment on things you know nothing about....
  16. That would depend on what you are fishing for.....
  17. Its really up to the discretion of the CO. Most of the officers Are decent guys, and if u arent targetting oos you should be ok. I have a friend who was catching pike (hates bass fishing) using husky jerks in a lake ged never been on. CO stopped him and fined him for targetting oos bass because "everyone knows they spawn here." Problem is that there are ppl that will target oos fih beacause at times , its the easiset to catch them. Very unsportsmanlike, and it ticks me off. If you do happen to catch a fish oos, it gets the water release, no pics. You shouldnt be stupid enough to post pics on a public forum. ( that goes for the oos musky posted last week as well!
  18. Jig and shrimp will catch lots of different things... Gold spoons work well, and some rapalas/ minnow imitators. No idea about crossing border with fish.
  19. Fished near Cayo Coco a few years back. Went on a cheap charter for an afternoon, and landed a bunch of Barracuda, big red snapper, dorado, and gatefish. Was a blast, and Cuba is an amazing spot to fish, with good numbers and variety. ( if u bring your own gear, prob better off with a heavier setup.... Never know what you hook into there). Good luck!
  20. I agree with Roy. It might have been a record ( if the sizes are accurate) then again maybe not. A musky that size has no problem eating a 5-10 lb fish. U catch it one day it might weigh 50 lbs. After a big meal it could weigh closer to 60. Really no point in dpeculating, because we will never know...
  21. I use the convector for musky trollin... Loud clicker, good drag system, nice power handle. Cant go wrong for the price
  22. Great season, Nice Skis!! Did the Jake happen to be " black perch"?
