Why are there any rules then if people break them anyway? Theres no logic to your statement. I am 100% for a no kill law on low density species that arent table fare ( or on species with low numbers on certain waterbodies that need help.) Lower limits should be put in place as well. Things like slot sizes are proven to help a struggling fishery, as Im sure lower limits would as well. Lowering limits would be much more cost effective than trying to stock a waterbody that has been destroyed by over angling.

Corvalus Havent had very good luck with the Compre myself, and a friend went through three in one season ( broke them with normal use) Also, the Corvalus is the bottom end of round reels, and wont last long throwing the big baits. Plastic guts, and IMO garbage. If you spend a bit more now, it will last uou a lot longer.

Rivers dont " turn over" the French is just a tough place to catch Skis.

Probably because there are a lot of guys that are lying about the size... Or the first rumors that hit the forums have grown before the true facts come out. The fish is also dead, so people can say what they want. Ha ha There are lots of posts with Big Musky pics on this site from well respected members that no one questions, and there is only positive feedback. Not every musky post goes south like certain guys pretend they do. Lets face the facts... Certain guys cant read a tape or scale, and feel they need to add length or weight... I dont know if thats the case here, but like I said, we will soon find out. The ones actually being negative here are the ones whining about Musky posts going south. Everyone has an opinion, and is free to share it. Im willing to bet it isnt as big as claimed ( my opinion, not fact)

Every year there are posts about giant Muskies that turn out to be much smaller than originally claimed, so its understanding that people are skeptical. Everyones entitled to their opinion. It a big fish for sure, but IMO not 58 lbs unless she had a diet of rocks. Time will tell, because if its as big as claimed, then it will be the new record. If it isnt as big, it will be forgotten, and all the guys thinking it isnt that big will be right. Pics are deceiving, especially a "non traditional" shot of 2.5 guys holding it. Time will tell....

Its not the rod... Big Bucktails pull hard, just the way it is. Do you point the rod directly at your bait when pulling it in? It makes reeling for hours much much easier. There are Reels available that pull in bigger baits with less drag, but they generally have a lower gear ratio. ( Abu Revo Winch) Do you have a big power handle on the 400? that would make things a bit easier as well....
