  1. For me and smallie fishng it's a Shimano Stratic 2500 Ci4 on a St. Croix Avid 7' Med Spinning rod...plus about 6 more combo's with Exo's, crucials, etc. More the merrier lol
  2. ^^^ I don't think Jimmer was under estimating anything...I think he was making a joke. At least I hope so because I thought it was funny. lol
  3. Oh...nasty! lol Beautiful clean looking fish.
  4. Beautiful pic. Wow
  5. Some truth mixed in there somewhere but as usual, it's the glass is half empty view. It's obvious to pretty much to the entire planet there is no way the Leafs would continue at the early scoring pace. No big revelation there but pat yourself on the back Captain Obvious. Goaltending is an area I disagree on. Andersen has proved himself and there has been no indication this year it'll be any different. That is, unless someone thinks you can predict an entire seasons performance on a few early games. We're not that silly, right?? Defence is very much in need of a booster...I didn't like it last year, I don't like it this year. As for the Sucks, well, the burning question is who honestly cares? They're a mediocre team playing in hopes of a playoff spot at the very most. That would be the pinnacle of their season so, yawn, whatever. The Sucks make the news when a) a player insults another player's wife, b) a player requests a trade out of the swamp, c) the organization trades away franchise players for popcorn. Other than that, Hockey News can't find Ottawa on a map. Zzzzzzzz
  6. Very nice! Right in the schnout! That's actually a super cool catch Brian. Isn't that the neatest part about fishing anyway? Seeing what smacked your bait?
  7. And I'll vouch for Brian.
  8. Very nice. You don't see many Warriors in this area but they're great boats. I'd be happy with that beast.
  9. Lol this title caught my eye...I'm sitting alone in a small corner Italian restaurant in lower Chicago thinking, this looks a scene from The Godfather. The foods great, but watch the door! Lol
  10. I'm not so sure we're even talking about a fish let alone which species. There are at least 5 other dark wave areas on that picture that are all the same size and running the same direction as this "fish". I vote simple wave action.
  11. Correct by definition.
  12. Nice to see Freddie getting his swagger back. He's never been Mr. October so he's actually ahead of schedule despite a shaky start. Matthews is a giant...again. The guy is not human lol. 10 goals already and for perspective, Crosby is waiting for his first. Tonight was a really good benchmark for the Leaf team. Great effort I thought. Funny stat in the Ottawa game tonight....Ceci was out so Ottawa's highest paid defenseman on the ice was.... Phanuef!! LOL They're retaining $1.7M so they're paying more for him than their next highest paid Dman. Crazy how that works...and they won! We always said Phaneuf was better at the other end of the ice! hahaha
  13. I'm just letting you know, you're heading down a slippery slope trying to "tune" that setup. It's not a simple, if this, do that situation. If you've never set up a boat my advice is take the winter and read all you can. And I mean no disrespect, but worrying about prop slip before making sure you tach is 100%, your water pressure gauge works(or you have one), or knowing your prop to pad(leg depth) is a not a fixall. You could be getting higher prop slip with the perfect prop and it could be related to cavitation from under the boat(lower has to be in clean water), or the depth of the lower end at WOT. And remember some props like running deep while others don't. Finally, remember that most of what you read about this will be written for glass boats with running pads. I have no idea how that boat is constructed and designed to run at WOT. Personally, I'd start by contacting the manufacturer and asking questions like prop to pad recommendation and if there is no pad per se, ask how they measure and what do they suggest. Start with the basics and tweek from there, making sure you're getting good water pressure(mfg recommended), at trim and WOT.
  14. Just try to imagine the thought process that went on here...I'm going to illegally introduce a new species into a lake and possible upset the ecosystem that has been in place for xxx's of years. Why? So I can fish closer to home. Really? The lengths people will go in the name of selfishness is amazing.
  15. My exact point earlier. To me, hours matter on a 115 and up...who every asks hours on a 9.9 lol If you can't pull the hours from the motor, don't bother asking. Whatever the motor is, just get it checked out by certified brand specific mechanic. Not by the owner, not by you, and not by a buddy of a buddy. Too much money on the line to gamble just to save $100 up front. Even a "simple" compression check is useless if it's not done correctly so why even bother doing it?? Outboards are definitely in the penny wise pound foolish category.
  16. I have 3 vehicles, a Civic, a CRV and a Silverado...all have full sets of snow tires on steel rims. It's not even about the snow, it's the ice. The softer compound is going to help way more on ice. My son just bought a Rav4 and he needs a set of snow tires...gee thanks Dad! LOL
  17. I was going to say the same thing but didn't want to go there. I hear guys whining that x amount of fish died in a bass tournament and wonder what the heck do they think tournament guys would be doing if there wasn't tournaments??? Wood carvings?? Focusing fisherman away from catch and keep and into competitive live release tournament did the fish populations a favour. Send 200 guys out fishing for fun from 7am to 3pm and tell me only 15, heck 50 fish died...I'd wonder if half of them forgot their rods. It's just come down to odds of survival...I'd rather get caught by Dave Chong vs a casual weekend fisherman. LOL Plus I might get a boat ride, a free check up and weight, and if I'm fat enough, a trip on stage and a photo shoot!!
  18. Look at how tough the fishing is on many Ontario lakes and ponder, if it wasn't for the widely accepted catch and release principles being applied over the last 30+ years, there'd be no fish to keep. Nothing to see here accept some no-name science dude trying to make a name for himself. Catch and Release WORKS. Hunting is proof of that...not one duck I ever shot ever had trouble eating again.
  19. I never said that!! Though now I wish I'd thought of it! Lol
  20. Brian, will the power button on the remote turn the TV off once it's on?
  21. Huge differences between the HO and the G2. That G2 is a torque monster.
  22. That's hilarious. I know someone else that thinks you can predict an 82 game season from a 3 games snapshot! All the Leafs stuff is true though!! hahahaha
  23. Everything the Leafs do gets second guessed. Heck the ice the forward skaters they have right now and guys are already what if'g it to death. Do you all really think that exec team painted themselves into a corner and really has a one year window to win?? really??? lol There's 20 teams in the league that would trade a nut to be in this predicament. Even the comedy show in the nations capital.
  24. You're right...they should just unload all their best players for a song and skate a bunch of has beens....otherwise known as the Ottawa strategy.
  25. Erik Karlsson must be enjoying the anonymity in San Jose these days. Three games, 1 point(assist), no penalties and a -4... all without a whisper. In fact I had to search through their online article to find him!!! LOL Between the weather and the lack of pressure, he must be loving it.
