Thanks Randy... gotta admit, I'm not too crazy about that outcome! HH

From 5 per day down to 2 for Lake O steelies... to me, that means there's gonna be a lot more floaters in the blue zone, then there ever were! Let's face it, a good percentage of fish caught in that area, simply don't survive being caught. So now, folks will "cull" their catch and there will be chrome floating everywhere. Just so the river folks can beat them with a stick, gut them for their eggs and leave on the bank. Personally, I don't really care about the reduced number, it won't effect me personally, but I bet that we won't see much of a change in returning steel as a result of these changes. HH

SO we are down to two possesion on Nip... no slot. Can anyone who is closer to this situation comment on any changes to the native netting quotas? Thanks, HH

Well, big people tend to "make" big people, so I guess it may be true... HH

The standard rules apply so I'll say it... NO PICS NO GTG! HH

Mid 90's fishing Quinte in December. At that time, there was almost no one fishing that time of year and very few if any other planer boards being used. It was a Saturday, the wind was howling out of the north west and we never left Picton Bay due to 3-5 footers right in front of the cement plant. Out before first light, dropped our lines as soon as we passed the pump house and didn't make it 100yds and we had a double header of 13's. Four of us in the boat, we boated over 35 Pickereyes with the largest being 16lbs... I also got my PB that day at 14.75lbs. No other boats out that day and the other two guys who made the drive from London still talk about that day... actually, they begged us to stop fishng as their arms were tired from reeling in those big fat socks! I doubt we will ever see another day like that on Quinte! HH

The warden got me one for Xmas last year... the only place I would actually wear it, would be ice fishing, but I was told in no uncertain terms, that it is NOT TO BE USED for ice fishing as it's too expensive to have perch gut/puke stains. To be honest, I don't even know where she hid it from me! HH

That's a "Perchasaurus"!!! Congrats... you both must be very proud! HH

I think even atheists believe in god on Friday or Saturday nights! Not so sure about Big Foot though... I don't hear people yelling "Oh Big Foot" on those nights! HH

Perfect BB truck... all it's missing is Hillary in the passenger seat. HH

Yes my friend, yo have a problem! LOL Some of us spend our money on fishing stuff we think we need. There was a member here who is no longer with us, whose sig said "lures are designed to catch fisherman". I can't help but think that this has a great deal of merit. I also find that those of us who have other "hobbies" that take away some of our disposable income, tend to be more conservative in their approach to gear purchases... I know that I can quite easily walk past a row of rods, reels or lures, but put a nice shinny guitar in front of me and I guarrantee that I will stop, have a look and start gassing! (GAS - Gear Aquistion Syndrom) Gas pains can lower the amount of oxygen available to the normally logical mind. I have tried deparately to find a cure for this ailment only to find myself buying yet another object that I don't necessarily need... but need has so little to do with GAS pains! Need and want are two very different animals! HH

I assume that you have connected with every conservation authority in the province? Send resumes, but always follow up each submission with a phone call. Get names and numbers and repeat. Getting a job is hard work. These days, getting a job in your field is even more difficult. Be a pain in their . . . . . . . . . . ear! HH

Many folks ice fish the Thames in the Tillbury area for Pickereyes. I've done it, but didn't have a great deal of luck (hey atleast I'm consistant!) That's about an hour or so drive west on the 401 for Londoner's. The only other place I ice fished relatively close to London was Long Point Bay. Hope this helps? HH

BBR, I went on an ice fishing trip to Nip a few years ago... it was my firt trip to Nip and I was excited as all h e l l to do it! Myself and the other guys who came up, brought countless tackle boxes, numerous rods and you name it, cause we were gonna be ready for what ever we needed to catch fish. I watched the guy who invited us up, use a wooden stick with 20 year old mono tied to the end, a jig and a minnow catch fish after fish, while us tackle junkies just sat there and stared. Now I'm definately not the brightest guy on the planet, but it didn't take me long to realize that if I wanted to catch a fish, I had better copy him. Funny, now when I go up for a weekend, I bring one rod (two if were ice fishing), one tackle tray and have at 'er! KISS works for me! HH

Funny, but the more I fish, the more I tend to agree with you BBR! HH

It's too bad you couldn't make it Chris... a little Spiel spice would have added yet another flavour to the pot... so to speak! HH

That was a Nip Lamb Drew... CCMT had to look long and hard to find a pic with me and a fish! LMAO HH

Should have brought a .22 on the boat and dealt with that thing boat side... only safe way ya know! HH

So sorry to have read this Bob... I hope you find happiness after the pain ends... HH

Here's a pic of the beastie just before Gerritt saved the day... thanks for sending me that CLiff! HH
-
Gerritt did everyone on that boat a favour... that Pickereye was so big it would have completely sunk FnS's boat... I think both Cliff and FnS owe Gerritt a huge thanks for not letting them get swamped in the middle of Adolphus Reach. Heck, it's bite alone could have caused ER rooms across eastern Ontario to go into high alert status! Gerritt, you're a good man... always thinking of others... commendable! HH

We have a rule... what happens at Perfect Vue, stays at Perfect Vue... however I can tell you that "Broken Will" "may" have been "over served". HH

I don't understand the "warranty" issue... what are you looking for in a warranty? The ring either keeps it's set stones or they fall off... either way, if you have an insurance rider on the ring, it will get fixed for a deductable... it's not like we are talking about moving parts etc... Get 'er the ring that you want and can afford... the realtionship's the hard part! LOL HH
