  1. Happy B-Day Lloyd! I'll keep a lemon handy for the next time we meet up and we'll share a quick snort! HH
  2. I used to be such a sweet sweet thing, till they, got a hold of me I opened doors for little old ladies, I helped the blind to see I got no friends cause they read the papers, they can't be seen, with me, Feel free to carry on! HH
  3. Raf beat me to it! HH
  4. TJ... traffic should not be a problem at that time and date... I would take 400 south to the 401 west, than take 427 south to the QEW/Gardiner east to get downtown. Taking the DVP puts you pretty far east, only to travel south and west on the DVP to get downtown. HH
  5. Hey Lew, That looks like a great way to spend a day! I can't help but wonder though, if the aluminum tube will be able to handle the stress of a bigin, thumping away behind the boat. I'm assuming you are running a short line behind the rod and with the height of the tube being what it is, I can see quite a lot of pressure being applied to the top of that tube... just thinking out loud here... maybe consider filling the tube to provide more strenght? HH
  6. If I may suggest a bit of a drive... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkHhx3y__9w HH
  7. I have caught many Gar fishing in London as a kid. Yes, they are very hard to hook as their mouth is essentially all bone and teeth. Here's what worked for us... -live minnows on a treble hook. Wrap the minnows around the treble, use a few. -tie on a float and leave the treble no more than one foot beneath the float. -they will bite and tow your float up and down the river -take a guess when and set the hook very hard. -needless to say, keep a tight line on'em BTW - they really don't fight worth a darn, but they interesting to catch and have a close look at. If memory serves me well, natives of North america used Gar scales for arrow heads. I have also heard that the flesh is poisonous as well as the roe. HH
  8. You know, I was thinkin about Dio and how he was said to be a down to earth type guy, who handled his profession with elegance and pride and he is taken away from us, when a guy like Ozzy, who has more chemicals running through him then Love Canal, is alive and doing well. (Ok, that's arguable but atleast he is alive!) Life aint fair! HH
  9. Nice Will! So, instead of getting out with you and Ken, I had to go to London to visit family! On the bright side, those fish make you look thinner! LMAO HH
  10. My first thought as well Roy, until I noticed that there wasn't a marshmellow to be seen anywhere in that article. so I'm guessing you may be wrong! HH
  11. How could I have forgotten this one!? HH
  12. The world is full of Kings and Queens, who blind your eyes then steal your dreams, it's Heaven and Hell! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wwqe27et28A Long Live Rock and Roll! HH
  13. To the O.P.. It's obvious that you are retaing water and it has affected your ability to create clear thought... may I suggest a trip up to Nipising, open the valve and release the water. Those folks could use all they can get! HH
  14. http://www.thestar.com/news/ontario/hst/article/808630--hst-will-lower-tax-on-booze-but-the-price-is-going-up Here yah go! HH PS... Big Cliff, you have once again, hit the nail on the head!
  15. They should just drain Temagami! It's not like there's any fish in it anyway! HH
  16. But what really has me in a lather today is the fact that the HST should be lowering to cost of booze, but McScuinte has decided that for our own good, they will simply raise the price and take our money... now, back to our scheduled programming! HH
  17. It doesn't remind me of anything! HH
  18. Sorry for your lose Joe, it is one of the most difficult things that will happen in your life. Time will heal, but the scar will always stay. Lost my Mom about 15 years ago. I'm very fortunate to have a Mother in Law that is 2nd to none. Now don't get the idea that she has replaced my Mom, but I for one can't imagine having a more caring, honest and dedicated person in my life... I have been blessed twice. I may not place alot on Mother's day, I tend to do my good deeds all year long, but I do take a moment or two to reflect on the past and to cherish the time I now have with my Mother in Law. HH
  19. Nice pics! BTW - "Bear" from Golden Eagle Camp sends his regards to Muskie! HH
  20. Have blast everyone! Lloyd, I tried to get out of this weekends commitments, but my wife insisted that I be home for my son's birthday party! LOL BTW - rumour has it that the White Perch of Quinte have gone into hiding after seeing cruise around last weekend... that's ok though, cause Dano won't be on board this weekend! LOL HH
  21. If I'm keeping the fish for consumption, I bleed them. A quick cut with my scissors, through the gills and much better quality of meat. I've never had one complain. HH
  22. Billybob, if I am able to plan out a day in advance, I use a simple no name Italian salad dressing for a chicken maranaide. My dry rub is as follows: -3 parts each of: Kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder and paprika -1 part each of: oregeon, basil, onion powder, thym, ceyene powder, Makes a great rub for both chicken and especially pork. HH Also, if I'm in a hurry, I will "nuke" the chicken while I am waiting for the BBQ to heat... reduced "Q" time by about 15-20 minutes.
  23. Hey Billybob, that chicken recipe is exactly how I made two chickens on Sunday. Local grocery store had chicken on sale, two for the price of one, so I cut them in half, spiced them and put them on the grill bone side down... I like this method better then "beer can" chicken as they are easier to serve when the are already cut in half. I know there are guys here who shake their heads at those of us who spend some pretty significant $ on BBQ's, but to my mind I get great value... here's the math. My Vermont Castings cost me just over $1,500.00 almost 11 years ago. I use it atleast 200 times a year, so annually, it cost me about $135.00 to own this BBQ to date. Now factor in the 200 plus meals I get to make on a BBQ that has all the bells and whistles and the BBQ cost me $.68 per meal it cooks. There's value in that to me. One this to consider with an upper level BBQ, properly maintained, you will not get flare ups... heck, I bet I could cook a pound of bacon on the grills with little to no flare up, no food wasted and everything evenly cooked. Try that with your $150.00 CTC special. G... I hope that BBQ gives you and the family many years of cooking pleasure! HH PS... Costco strip loins, the "Canadian AAAA" ones... it don't get better than that!
