  1. Holy papparazzi! Those fish must thought that Paris Hilton was swimmin along side them as I've never seen so many guys rushing the side of the boat to get a pic! LMAO! Was it a fishin trip or were you all working for the best shot to sell to the tabloids! LMAO! Like I said before Lloyd, your a Saint! HH
  2. Sorry for your lose Stoty... HH
  3. Well guys, tomorrow's the day and in all honesty, I'd love to be out there with yah, watchin Terry's face when that flash of silver rips by the boat, drag all scream'en and stuff. Those sheepies can put up quite a fight! BBBBBBBAAAAAAHHHHHHH! Have a blast, like you need me to tell you that and Will, make sure you wear that "slimming" rain suit, I'm guessing their will be pics and a report! Lloyd... your a saint for taking that crew out on your boat! HH
  4. I sure that if you just follow the spent lemon wedges floating behind the boat, you should have no problem find your way back to port! HH
  5. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/product.php?site=dtx&product=GLF&issuedby=LO&format=ci&version=1 Just so yah know... HH
  6. Well, we have a number of charter captains here, but I think we need to know where you are hoping to leave from, west end of the lake, central basin etc... Or, you could PM Fishhunter! HH
  7. A number of years ago, before my wife and I had kids, I spent a number of late fall, early winter weekends, chasing Pickereyes on Quinte. It was almost a ritual for us, fishing the weekends. One fine morning, a little nip in the air (-15C)we arrive at the Picton launch. All seemed normal, until we backed the boat into the water. I noticed that the boat seemed to be riding pretty low in the water, so I yell to my buddy, "Is the plug in?" "Yup, no doubt, it's in", he says. Well something seems wrong as the boat is riding much lower than normal" I said. Buddy gets out of the truck and says... "the boat is frozen to the trailer bunks!" Sure enough, I can see the trailor tires hanging there. Now, the water temp was something in the area of about 32.5F. We decided, since there was no other boats at the ramp, to see if the water would melt the boat off the trailor... no dice after 20 minutes. So I tell my buddy, isn't there a car wash in town, that has a power wash systems that we could use to blast the bunks and free up the boat? Yup! So we drive to the car wash, dump in a few bucks and start hammering the bunks with the hot spray. Once we ran out of money, we gunned it back to the ramp, back up and viola, floating boat! HH
  8. I assuming that with each package of jelly beans, they will include a pack of Tic Tac's! HH
  9. Hey Cliff, Have you noticed any insect /larva hatches lately? With everything being about 2-3 weeks early this year, perhaps the Pickereyes are stuffing themselves with insects, making your offerings inconsequentcial? Are you fishing typical spring patterns and if so, perhaps switching to "summer" tatics will net you better results. The only other suggestion that I have for you is probably somewhat radical for your lake, but have you tried trolling deep flats, middle of the lake and considered planner boards? Unless the population has crashed, they have to be there and they have to eat... hope this helps? HH
  10. I hope your feeling better soon! May I suggest that a repeated arm arching motion, while holding a 7 ft graphite rod, might help to loosen up your neck a bit... think of it as physical and mental therapy. I'd hope that the offending person's insurance would help to pay for such therapy. HH
  11. Wayne, nothing would make me happier then chumming the water behind Lloyd's boat with residual lemons, but unfortunately, with a wife who is a school principle, the month of June tends to be a complete wash-out for me. Darn near every weekend has some kinda year end thing etc, etc... 5:00 am departure!!!!!!!! That's even earlier then normal Lloyd time! Maybe some time in July? HH Speil, through the bright red slits I call eyes, you seemed to be having a good time... just remember, "it's a fun game, if you play it quick!" And it's way better to have two, then one!
  12. RE hydro prices. What I can't seem to get my head around is the fact that us individuals are subsidising industry's energy costs! Demand goes up through the day, not because of residential use, but because of industry's need for energy. However, they are demanding that I, the residential user pay for industry's energy greed. And johnny, take a look at your Electric bill, we pay a debt recovery charge every month... that, because OPG can't seem to upgrade anything within budget or time constrictions. PS... Ontario transportation minister is talking about implementing road tolls again! (For environmental purposes only! LMAO) HH
  13. As the official convener of all thing lemony, I will sanction such a GTG, as long as the appropriate salutations are fully adhered to. (Blah Blah Blah... I sanction your lemons!) HH
  14. Johnny, truth be told, we the people are to blame for everything we get... we vote for 'em and allow then to continue the trend. Unless and until we the people demand more from our politicions and actually take a deep interest into what they do, nothing will change. Example... the dreaded HST was anounced over one year ago. WE, "the people" by in large said and did nothing, now everyone is in freak mode. (justifiably, but way to late!) The more things change, the more they stay the same! HH
  15. Awe man, I had almost completely forgotten that the "girls of summer" were playing again this year! I can hardly wait for the first guy to hit the ground like he was shot, only to have the replay show that no one actually hit him! To those who enjoy this spectacle, have a blast! Go Canada Go! HH
  16. ...and a nice 2x2 sheet of plywood! HH
  17. If it swims, or in this case, is perceived as swimming, it's considered food. Simple as that. HH
  18. If legislating against stupidity was remotely possible, then our governments would have legislated themselves out of existence. Where does it end folks? Will they soon force me to dull all my hooks, for fear of snagging myself... force me to submitt to a breathalizer test before they sell me booze? Peter, I am not belittling your words, I understand where you are coming from on this, but I have to believe that regardless of legislation, people are going to do what they do and forcing people to pay particular attention to there own well being will not make it so. You only have to look at the other thread on the board today for proof. Education is the only solution that's viable, but you can lead a horse to water, but you certainly won't make it drink, unless it wants to. HH
  19. Ben's pic holding a nice Pickereye on the cover of Izumi's REal Fishin Mag has been in my "powder room" for quite some time now... reasuring to have him smiling at us when we are in there doing our business! LOL HH
  20. Mouth of the Napanee river, Erie Derie's HH
  21. Thanks for doing up the report Will! Nah... I really didn't want to take home some fresh Nip fillets, did I! Thanks again Bernie for inviting up us bassholes up again! Laughs are priceless and weekends at Bernies always make me feel like a millionaire! I hope that the summer brings you guys good weather (RAIN!) and I'm lookin forward to the fall already! Oh yah... just so yah know, large amounts of cash were exchanged in order to get me to take a pic of that "Goat" Will caught... BAAAAH! And like all who attended, I for one am glad I have two! HH Ps... to those heading up to Nip, we found the Pickereyes to be scatered at best and biting extremely light, heck I would swear they were licking our jigs... we did find however, that slowly dragging our jig along the bottom, popping it off rocks and letting them lick the jig was the only way to get a fish... slow and steady folks!
  22. And lack of water in the French has been an on going problem since I can remember, way back to the early 70's. I won't argue mother nature Raf, but I do think that those who are PAID to be reasonably correct, should do a better job. Probably asking to much! HH
  23. Guessing wrong is fixable, if wrong is leaving too much water in Nip. Open the dams and the water goes down... guessing wrong and leaving a lake the size of Nip more than two feet down, is grounds for an inquiry in my mind. I was shocked by all of the land locked docks I saw up there this weekend. I would suspect that many who own there, won't be visiting much this summer as they will have to hire a Sherpa to get their stuff from their boats to their cottages. The economic impact to the area will be very significant. HH
  24. ... and help with the tent to Roy! Too funny! HH
