Anyone else find cats super annoying?
Headhunter replied to Rod Caster's topic in General Discussion
I found that a reasonably price squirt gun can humiliate a cat faster than anything... and it only takes a few squirts for it to realize who's really the boss! (Note - Don't let "the boss" see you doing it! )LOL HH -
What time is supper than BB? HH

Come on BB, I know we allow banjo's across the border! And after the game, Rice Lake is only an hour away! HH

Grab your ice fishing rod, tie on a pouch with catnip and start flippin for the cat! Seriously, I had a cat that would cry for the fishing rod... I had to hide it in the closet or the cat would simply go nuts! Many an hour spent together, with me laughing my off at that cat jumpin all over trying to get that pouch. Burning it across the floor... LMAO! Like so many things in life, you can fight them or you can take advantage of their attributes and use them to your advantage. HH -
One of my all time favs... I just look at him and I would start to laugh... "Nice beaver" "Thanks, I just had it stuffed yesterday" "Have you ever been to a turkish prison Billy?" May he rest in peace, with a smile on his face combined with a look of complete confusion. HH

Glad you enjoyed them Brian... but much like sushi, I simply don't eat bait! I also can't get past the smell coming off of the can when you first open it. HH

Thanks everyone! My wife literally dragged me to see "Wicked" on Saturday night... and no, unfortunately, no lemons were hurt all weekend... but a good time was had. Thanks again all, HH

I remember as a young boy, I had to have been 5 or 6 years old. My school was having a movie night and myself, my brother and my sister attended. The cost was 5 cents to get in. I recall my sister giving myself and my brother 10 cents each to get a treat. They had many different candies available, but I had my eye on a Mars bar. It was and still is to this day, my favorite candy bar. Sure, they had other candy bars available, but they were 5 cents, the Mars bar was ten. I remember standing there agonizing over the price of the Mars bar... until I finally broke down and bought it... I have never tasted a candy bar that tasted so good! The movie, by the way, was Disney's Jungle Book. I just recently, disposed of my first ever fishing rod, bought and paid with my own money. I remember buying it at Consumers Distibuting, it was a spin caster! I still have the reel I bought for it, paid for with my paper route money... Johnson Century. When I was young, almost everything you bought was either made in Canada or the USA. We used to make fun of things made in Hong Kong or Japan... now everything is made there. My kids will never know the life I had when I was a kid and I don't expect them to. I won't even touch on the subject of the price of beer! HH

Good report Lincoln... and it appears as though no pigeons were harmed in the making of this report! HH

Thanks to all who are working hard to get this place back to "normal". Who do we have to call to get a one day credit on our account here? HH

The small ones are usually the toughest Wayne... you guys are in my thoughts daily... and as you know, the offer always stands... Thanks for keeping us up to date... keep me in mind if you need to get away for a bit, I'm only 10 minutes away... HH -
That was the weekend theme song Terry! HH

I didn't want to highjack FishnSleds excellent report from our adventures at Perfect Vue this past weekend, so here is the PG 13 version of some folks mis-adventures at the Vue. This pic shows two strangers getting to know each other... personally, if I had a name like YoungOne, I'd have stayed clear of the big guy (Bitsmith)! Here they are making plans for later after everyone else passed out! Here they are showing off the "tools of the trade" Armageddon! Here's two old buggers doing their best to find the bottom of a vodka bottle, the whole time watching and learning the art of the take down, from Bitsmith! The Dr. Mellow even hooked this big guy! Never and I do mean NEVER pass out in a room full of guys!!!! Gerritt had fun!LOL Thanks for lookin... HH PS... GBW, the guys in the cabin over a few from us, want your phone number!!!!!

Phil, we were fully prepared with multiple versions of that bait! We had the large size, for if and when the fish were biting agressively and the smaller version, coloured and scented, should we be forced to slow down our presentation. Now if I could only get that pin rod to sit right in the Salty! And I think I may have to go with the 13 ft rod next year! Dr. Mellow was the ticket! LMAO HH

My first thought as well Wayne! Lincon, next time, try and get them to take a ic of your good side! HH

Thanks for starting the report Will... Another most excellent adventure at Perfect Vue this year! A total of 10 of us managed to fill two cabins and new friends were made and old friends re-united. Bitsmith and I arrived at The Vue on Friday at around 2:00pm. Un-packed and washed the road dust out with a few bevies. All had arrived by 3:00pm, so it was time to get out and get some fish... on the water by about 3:30pm. Special baits loaded into the boat. About an hour into our fish, my rod gets a hit... I'm thinkin, ok, maybe we will have another good trip... here's a pic of the fish... ok... three! Mike, we should probably consider getting a bigger net for next year! LMAO Here's a pic of the classic hold... Fish was 29 inches. And of course, how could we not get the gun shot... please pay no attention to the specail bait used in the pic. Someone was supposed to blur out the bait in the shot, but alas, it did not happen. Please please please, don't be telling anyone or everyone who will listen obout this bait... it will make it darn near impossible to source this bait, if everyone starts using it... here's the pic. Dann, please thank your wife for the great Chili... my goodness did it make for some laughs later that night. YoungOne, thank your Mom for the noodles as well... I honestly don't know how your parents can afford to feed you! LOL Saturday morning revealed some pretty nasty winds, so, we hung low and tried to wait it out. Finally got on the water at around 3:00pm, with only one fish on and lost that night. As special thanks to the good folks at Iceberg Vodka for their contribution to Saturday nights activities! Sunday morning we were on the water at the crack of 9:00am! Fished until about 12:30pm, one fish on and lost is all we could manage. Again, the wind was a major player all weekend and Sunday was no exception. Too bad we didn't get a visit from the U and Me crew, I had lemons put away for such a visit. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get our poop together next year and find ourselves all located in the same area code! Thanks again to Bitsmith for dragging my behind around and to all the other boys for giving me the laugh I obviously needed. HH Forgot to add... the word of the weekend was ARMAGEDDON!!! Dann, feel free to post up some of those shots you sent me!

Nice job use guys! Some really sweet fish there and Terry, I think you deserve to beat up that old PB... you've earned it! I wish we could have made it out to where you were fishing, but those winds were simply too much for our 16 ft boat and by the time they switched up, we didn't have time to get out very far. Missed seeing you guys this weekend... all I can tell you is that you would have been proud of the Perfect Vue contingent as we managed to maintain OFC's reputation for being "over served" when more than one of us meet! LOL HH
-
As has already been said, yah got out, so as much as it might pain you and your buddies, you are way ahead of those who did not make it down there this year... And yah, the winds really restricted our ability to fish this weekend... but I am grateful for the opportunity to get out and even more greatful to both the guys I laughed with all weekend and to the single Pickereye who decided to hit my Dr. Death and hold on! LOL HH

I have a smart meter... my bill doubled from last year's same time billing. Consumption was up 10%! I would like someone to explain to me why I, the simple residential user is being forced to subsidize industry's electricity hunger? If time of use is correct and the peak demand periods are during the day, when most of us are not home, why am I , the lowly resident getting hit between the eyes paying for industry's energy requirements. The "debt recovery tax, as far as I recall, was instituted to help pay off the shutting down and maintenance of our nukes, you can thank Bob Rae for that. Salaries at OPG are amoung the best in the province, the "leadership" are also well paid! I'm with Wayne on this one... unfortunately building nukes at the cost factor that OPG uses is not going to help us in the short or medium term, but they are the most efficient way of generating. The rebate is a joke! It doesn't even cover the taxes on the bill! HH

That's an aweful lot of spotted carp! HH
-
We can catch spotted carp any old time of the year ... but it's really only this time of year that you can set the hook on a big ole wet sock! Wayne, really sorry that you can't make it this year, completely understandable, I'm sure they need you more than we do! Take care and we'll connect when we get back. HH
