  2. Well, it was new to me and I LOL... so thanks for posting it! RM always gets a chuckle outta me! HH
  3. Lincoln, had you not prioritized your "Fishing with Lesbians" classes, you would already have your new auger in hand... To quote Clint Eastwood, a man's got to know his limitations! HH
  4. i've been fortunate enough to fish with quite a few OFC'ers... and I can say that none that I have fished with, would be folks who I wouldn't do it again with! Now, who would I like to fish with is a much garded secret and those lucky few will receive that special invitation in due time.... HH
  5. Hey CLiff, Still got a copy of Brown Eyed Girl from Bernie's last year! LMAO HH
  6. I bought a pair almost 20 years ago! I still have them and I still wear them fishing! Admittedly, they are not really the fashion statement they once were, but they are the best I have owned! Good to hear that they match an excellent product with great customer service! HH
  7. 8. Leo Fender sold his guitar making business to CBS in the 70's... he could not use his name on any further business ventures... heck, he couldn't even use the same shaped headstock on his instruments. (It was the only part of his instruments he actually trademarked when he owned the company. He then opened Music Mann and produced instruments under that name, until he sold that business to Ernie Ball. He then opened up a company called G&L and ran that company until his unfortunate passing. So, here is a guy that basically "invented" and or marketed the first electric guitar/bass and was swallowed up by much larger organizations. There are many who will debate the quality changes that occured once new ownership had taken over, but as has been mentioned in an earlier post, it is the way of the world... Another example... Microsoft! Rather than try and reinvent the wheel, Microsoft has made it a huge part of their business model to simply buy ideas.... HH
  9. First of all, thanks to all who have replied to this thread and to those who have PM'd me... I spoke with him this morning and he is considering what you guys have said... He seems to be leaning toward try before you buy and will in all likelyhood, be test driving them in the spring. Does anyone have any experience with Legend boats? If you'd rather not discuss thisn in the open forum, please feel free to PM me.. Thanks HH
  10. Thanks Mercman! Do you have hands on experience with these boats? HH
  11. Well, you're a better man than I am! FishnSled and I hit Sibbald PP yesterday in search of the mighty Perch... our feeling being that we can get sheer numbers out of Cook's, but we were hoping for more size yesterday. Well, dragging the portable hut across that god foresaken ice/snow/ poo was exhausting, even for the two of us. We barely managed to get to 15 fow before both of us looked at each other and said, that'll do! The fishing sucked, so we have decided that we would much rather catch 150+ perch and only bring back ten, then catch 10 and only bring back 5! We would have made the trek out to Whitie land, but it just wasn't happening. Kudo's to you for your efforts, but I would not ever count on anyone to get me out of a situation. That's what was going through my head when we were out there yesterday... yah, we could probably get out to deep water, but I don't know how the heck I'm gonna get everything back in! LOL HH
  12. Hey folks, I have a client who is considering purchasing a Pontoon style boat for his cottage, located on a relatively small (2km long) lake. The boat will in all likelyhood not be trailered often, if at all. He is considering a boat in the 16 ft range and has asked me for opinions on what to consider. To date, he has looked at Legend boats, but is interested in what else is out there that could fit his needs. Looking forward to receiving your insight here guys... and appreciate your help. HH
  13. A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in Alberta, when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust. The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, will you give me a calf?" Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, why not? The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his Cingular RAZR V3 cell phone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location, which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo. The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany. Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response. Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves." "That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says Bud. He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car. Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?" The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?" "You're a Member of Parliament for the Canadian Government," says Bud. "Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?" "No guessing required," answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know a thing about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep. Now give me back my dog." HH
  14. Each day of the NAMM show, they produced a mag that outlined the days events as well as product releases. This mag, which my brought back two copies of for me is the size of a Billboard magazine. In the Thursday edition, they have a full page ad of Tommy, in full Ace garb. I think, if memory serves me well, it was an ad for some kind of amp. HH
  15. I spent one night at Dog Lake, about ten years ago... my wife and I decided to just get in the truck, start driving and stop when the urge came up. (so to speak) We ended up in Wawa and after trying to find any place that had an opening, we were directed to Missinabi and an "outfitter" who could accommodate us. Let me tell you, the drive from the highway up to Missinabi seems to never end! I would highly suggest that you fill up your gas tank, before you make that turn, as there is little to nothing in Missanabi. The cottage was more like a shack and as soon as my wife saw it, I knew we would not be there long. Looking out the window, all we could see was the owners laundry hanging on a line, some old rusted out vehicles and a marsh. I did not fish the lake, but was told by the "outfitter" that it's a big lake and it takes time to find fish. This probably doesn't help you, but take my advice and be sure that you have plenty of gas and food as there is NOTHING to be bought there, should you need it. HH
  16. Out getting re-tubed!!! LOL Peter, there was just too much to see/do and not enough time. Plus, I wasn't there it was my wife who was lucky enough to be there... just know that if I was there, you'd have you Marshall pics! HH
  17. They tell me that the scenery at Temagami is very beautiful... I'll have to take your word for it!!! HH
  18. Sarah and the Palins!? Sorry about that! HH
  19. Oh man, you have no idea!!! My wife suggested in November, when the trip was booked, that we take the kids out of school and go with her. Her hotel was right in Disney Land, right across the street from NAMM. Obviously I did not know that, when I declined... but I have been since I found out... now I probably would have ended up in divorce court, as I can't seem me dragging a 7 & 8 year old around NAMM for two days, when they are pinning for Disney Land rides!!!!!! HH
  20. You may be right Chris, but it would be hard for me to tell as I was running as fast as my legs could carry my rotundness! I don't have eyes in the back of my head! I figure the guy on the left must have a much higher tolerance to pain then I do, I get sore just lookin at him! HH Wayne, I want my MTV!
  21. Can't be Skeeter, there is no chilli in the pic, dude has too much hair and no banana bread to be found! LOL HH
  22. My wife was on a conference in L.A. last week and part of what she had to do, was attend the NAMM show in Anaheim. (North America Musical Instrument Manufacturers) trade show. She was clicking maddly at anything and everyone she thought "looked important" LOL So far, we have been able to identify everyone she has taken a pic of, except this group. They had mega median surrounding them, so, of course, my wife thought them to be stars or soon to be stars! She managed to squeeze in through the media horde and snap ths pic below. The guy on the left in the pic, gave her an "atta girl" for her tenacity. Now I probably wouldn't want to run into these guys in a dark alley, but my wife said they were really nice guys and very down to earth... So, can anyone here identify who these guys are? Also, can anyone identify this dude! LOL This guy is apparently the producer of Canada's own "Heart". He's also their lead guitar player Sorry for the non fishing post, but it is winter and I thought this may be a decent diversion from the day to day grind.
  23. Vaseline... what, you don't have any lip balm laying around? HH
  24. That's brilliant! HH
