When I first read your question I thought you would have to go for a 4 stroke because they didn't make an Etec in a 25hp. Then I looked it up, they now do make a 25hp Etec engine! Finally I thought, wish they had it out in 2005 when I bought my new 2 stroke 25hp Johnson. Either way you will have a motor which is heavier than an old style 2 stroke. I think I like the Etec more than the 4 stroke because of the maintenance and the slight weight advantage. The Etec is a very quiet motor just like the 4 stroke. How do they compare in price?

Gerritt and Express168 are correct, the Dricore is expensive each 2x2 panel costs between 6 to 7 bucks. Doesn't sound too bad...that is until you add it all up for a basement project. A lot of people come into the store and buy the dimpled plastic roll (intended to be used on foundation exteriors so water can run unobstructed to the weeping tiles) and cover it in plywood as it is cheaper, but the Dricore is a neat product with some advantages. Figure it all out on paper and see what is the best answer. Oh yeah, be nice to hear how it all turns out for you.

Took a German college student I was attending classes with a couple of years ago out for a day of fishing. I made sure that he had one, even took him to the tackle shop to buy one. Funny thing was, he was not an immigrant, an Ont. resident or Canadian Resident as he was only here on a students visa for one year. Told the guy at the shop he needed a non resident licence, the guy starts to fill out the paper and he gets yelled at by the store employee, "You need a resident licence, I asked why? He says the guy is writing down a Hamilton address, he is a resident!" OK whatever you say, but he had no documentation as to his Hamilton address. So that was that, he got an Ont. fishing licence.

Most dental work is not covered under provincial health insurance, no longer are eye exams if you are over 18 and under 65, that is unless the exam shows you have cataracts or you are diabetic. Dental work is out of pocket, unless you have a plan from work or can afford your own plan if you are self employed. My plan at work would probalby not cover the bill you faced Photoz, mine maxes out at $2000 per year, I already have used up $1400 so far this year. When I was self employed or I was struggling along on commission sales I had to pay everything out of my own pocket for my wife, son and myself. Luckily my wife and son are both blessed with great teeth and it was usually a trip to the dentist for a cleaning and a check up. Me on the other hand just has to look at a piece of celery and a tooth breaks and I have had more root canals than I can remember. Most dentists will give a break to those who have no coverage by not charging the current fee scale and this was a big help to me when I needed it. Just remember that a dentist practice will cost a fortune to set up and this is after all that money has been spent on education and all the time and years that went into it. And think of how many of us could do that type of work, bent over with your face stuck in peoples mouths all day, bad breath, rotten teeth, people with colds and diseases, high suicide rates, carpel tunnel, bad backs, alcoholism, I could go on and on. Be thankful that there is someone who is willing to shove their hand in your mouth to fix your teeth. Maybe your dentist did only just have to fill your tooth, could be he tried to charge you more than necessary or do more work than needed, then he might have been trying to do the right thing. But I bet you will be back to him in short time because you're going to be climbing the walls in pain and you are going to be at his chair side begging for help.

Best answer for this is right here dricore I attended one of their seminars while at work one day and they were very convincing. Worth a look at least. Don't apply the carpet directly to the concrete, bad idea as said, mold and mildew will develop.

Is there a problem with the motor? If your breaking starting ropes there may be, just a thought, as I have had to pull start my '05, 25 HP Johnson (dead battery) a few times and it was an easy pull. I don't think there would be much difference regardless of the name on the motor cover. A Johnson comes with a rope and a wooden handle and yes there is a groove in the flywheel for the rope.

Lousy weather? Be thankful for what we have. Very few days with horrendous humidity, a few days of sun followed by a few days of rain. Sure it's not beach weather but it's been easy on the A/C and the lawn sprinkler too. And how about today? It was beautiful! Don't forget we had quite a few bad years of drought or near drought conditions and it's about time we started to get some precipitation, otherwise were would the fish swim? But let's see what this week brings, so far thunderstorms are in Monday's and Tuesday's forecast. So I will wait and see how it pans out before I bring the boat out of the garage.

Tough to beat Spiel's offer. Other than that I can vouch for the Ugly Stick "Lite" I have this in a 6'6" and not a problem with it, notice the quotes on lite. I haven't tried a regular Ugly, only the lite, good Walleye and perch rod. It is a couple bucks more than the regular one. Does anyone else remember the early Ugly Sticks? Back in the 70's when they sold for around 90 - a hundred bucks! Big money in 1970's dollars. Drop Spiel a PM.

I tried Chronzy's, wasn't bad but I prefer just some flour, ground up crackers, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, dip fish in egg or milk or even water then fry. Or even better is the No-Name version of shake and bake! You can do what ever you want with it meaning fry or bake. I like the extra crispy, just add some flour to the mix as this will stretch it just a little and tone it down a little for fish. Just shake the fillets up in the bag and fry them. Best of all a box is only $1.19! Now compare that to Chronzy's or Fish Crisp and you will see that you are getting ripped off big time!

Wish I could help with the pontoon boat question. But I can say try Bayfront park or Pier 4 where Williams Coffee is located has some very accessible locations. As a matter of fact to the left and sort of in front of Williams is a good spot you can wheel right up to and fish right in the marina. There were several parking spots right there but they have now blocked them off. Very unfortunate because that would be perfect, drive right up, exit your vehicle and wheel 15' to the edge and drop your fishing line. Too bad that they didn't make it handicap parking only rather than close it right off. Also Christie conservation area has a wheelchair pond with a couple of platforms the hang out over the water. Don't know about how it is for fishing right now but they stock rainbows in the spring. Try Port Maitland Pier, my wife drove me down there a couple of weeks ago when I was on crutches and although we had no luck it was a good afternoon and it was easy to get out onto in the condition I was in and would be a perfect for you with an electric chair. BTW, we took my father there many times, he was on a cane and then a wheel chair. Also try Port Dover Pier, easy place to fish from and when you have had enough fishing you can get the world's best foot long dog at the Arbour. That would be Coote's Paradise on the left side of the picture. I believe the water is very shallow, and as said probably a catfish heaven. The outlet you see goes into Hamilton Harbour and is where the carp barrier is located. This is an attempt to restore Cootes to it's past glory and it is apparently working, according to the news anyway. As for fishing there, I haven't a clue if you are even permitted to fish there because of the ongoing "carp eradication project" and I never spent anytime there but fished the other side of the HWY at Bayfront Park where yesterday my wife and I had a lot of fun with little dink perch. Pike, carp, walleye, sheephead, bass, catfish and perch can be found in the harbour. Sorry but this is the best I can offer, hopefully someone else has had experiences in Coote's

We headed out to the river on Thursday past in the morning. As typical we trolled through or lucky spots and received several nice hits and lost a couple. So with this encouragement we continued onto the next past productive location downstream...just where the skydivers float overhead nearby but none were up there that morning. Bang! "Got one! Get the net! It's a monster!" Yes it was big and had a deep girth, but it was jst a sheephead, first one for him this year so it was exiting to have Jr land it. A quick picture with the camera phone and back it went. On the way back up stream I got a hit. A good one, felt like a train hit my spinner. Bringing it in I swore it felt like a big cat hugging the bottom. I did say in fact "Ah Allen, it's only a catfish, damn I don't feel like going through the unhooking procedure for a homely old catfish." Soon as it was near the boat it rolled up to the surface and I hollered for PH Jr. to get the net! It was a Walleye! Sure didn't feel like one, but it was. It measured in at just over 20" and was fat and deep. A decision had to be made, back to the water for it or home to the batter and frying pan. Since this was the first for the year for us the frying pan won. This one fish was actually just a little too much for the three of us to dine on, however we managed it. A couple more troll pasts and a couple more hits with nothing to show for it so we packed it in for the day and just made it home to the garage just before the storm hit. Almost perfect timing. BTW, the lucky lure for the day, Mepps with a worm. Tried dragging a variety of cranks but nothing happened till we went back to the Mepps.

The kid reached the big 19 today. Where the heck does time go? Seems like only yesterday I was changing his diaper and shoving a bottle in his mouth to make him happy. Guess that bottle may now have to say Smirnoff on the label or come in a brown bottle to quiet him. You may discover that you might get a reply after the weekend is done, if there are indeed any fisherpersons around that's willing to share some info. Some are up at Lakeair and others are just too busy fishing.

Just leave the accusations alone. The guy was found innocent, settled by a court of law. If you or I feel differently then that is our own personal problem. He has now passed on to a greater judge, let him sort it all out. Just remember the little psycho for his entertainment value to society.

I understand it to mean province, just like your fishing license, if you reside in Ont. you are a resident and therefore buy a resident fishing license.

Be careful fishing near the channel. The big cruisers don't give a rat's ass to small boats. Lot's of rocks and shallow areas. Small spinners, small-medium size plastics for the perch, minnows, worms and you'll be OK. Lot's of good bass locations are available.

It will work, I had a 4.5 long on a 15" transom 12' aluminum until I found a deal on a nice little 6hp short Merc. I didn't notice much trouble with the combo, maybe did drag a little and it did make a good rock finder as hit did hang 5" lower. Use it until you find a replacement motor.
