Anywhere I can wet a line from the shore Bruce? Not sure what to expect that time of year?

Thanks Dave We are probably going to rent a place on the South Shore for a week or maybe 10 days then drive over to PEI. I was thinking by flying we could save 3-4 days to spend there...

Thought I would throw this out there as I know there are a few East Coaster's on this board. Barbara and I are planning a trip to Nova Scotia end of August/early Sept. It's still in the planning stage as we haven't decided whether to drive or fly. We are planning a week or so in Nova Scotia and then driving to PEI for 3-4 days. If we fly we can fly into Halifax and home from Charlottetown so really no restrictions there. If we drive we will probably go one way through US and the other through Canada. OK here's the 'ting.......neither of us have spent any time there so looking for recommendations as a base. Also any must see's or do's other than the typical tourist stuff? We like pretty much everything except laying on the beach (love to walk the beach at low tide though)... To make this a fishing thread, any thoughts suggestions for shore fishing (beach or pier) ...? We can do Bed and Breakfast or rent a cottage/vacation property. All suggestions/comments/thoughts gratefully received either in this thread or by PM.. Cheers, J...

So I assume that with Android box and Kodi I will lose the Network channels? Anybody can give me a quick low tech description of what I get and what I will be giving up if I go that route?

Used to pay 25 cents in Hamilton on the 70's.....I did have to wash the glass myself though,, -
We are all paying for the gross mismanagement of what was Ontario Hydro. As long as 30 years ago Hydro was paying secretaries more than I was making as a sales manager in manufacturing. It was never accountable and rang up a debt close to that of a small nation........My bill for July and August was $200 more than the same period in the last 10 years! They have a specific dept that is trained to handle calls from people complaining about their bill, they are trained to talk in riddles and to go around in circles until the customer either commits suicide or hangs up in frustration depending on their mental state....... And they continue to build wind farms...........but that's another story!

I have watched this thread with interest as I have good friends on both sides of the debate and respect all views. Thanks for keeping it civil....... I have very strong views on guns, ownership, controls, ability to conceal and right to own, but that's another story.......... Having said that, It would be interesting to discover just how many gun owners truly understand the operation, safe use, maintenance AND PURPOSE of their firearms. Maybe Art will comment on some statistics. I feel that those who believe that buying a gun makes them safe are truly dilusional. It resides in their night stand or glove box until God forbid they decide to "defend themselves". This never turns out well. I really do believe that there are many handgun owners out there that think waving a gun at intruders, muggers, carjackers makes they somehow invincible. If you pick up a loaded gun to defend yourself you had better ask yourself the $64,000.00 question...Am I prepared to kill someone and suffer the consequences?. After all is that not what the intended use is, to kill? The topic of the thread of course it is truly tragic. I can not even begin to understand the emotional heartache, grief and anger of those who have lost their loved ones........ .

Unfortunately change.org is much more of a political organization than it is environmental..........just sayin'

The consequences of a Trudeau or Mulcair government are truly frightening for Canada! I will leave it at that.......

Firstly, as far as maintenance, even under warranty, you have the right to maintain your vehicle at any competent shop. If you follow the manufacturers recommended schedule and have documentation then you will have no issue with warranty. Air and cabin filters have been an issue for a while where some dealers and some independent shops have been charging crazy prices and recommending way to frequent replacement intervals. In general terms, air and cabin filters should be replaced annually or every 20,000 Km. More frequently in severe operating conditions. Typical prices in my shop are in the $20 to $30 range for a quality filter, installed. (we do not charge for installation). For those that want to do their own oil changes and think that they are saving money, think again. We charge $39.95 for a regular oil change and $79.95 for a synthetic oil change. Most weeks I have a special that is $10 off. This gets you up to 5 litres of oil, a standard oil filter, labour and a written 30 point vehicle inspection. Price out a 5 litre jug of QUALITY oil and a Quality filter and see how much you have left out of the above prices. There are very good, average and not so good shops in this industry. The best advice I can give is find yourself one that has fair prices for quality work that you can trust.
