  1. I can vouch for Arts craftsmanship and materials. Beauty work....a few swipes with a steel and it is good to go. I am learning how to refinish the edge when it is needed (an art in itself)...:-)
  2. LOL....and you think that our current "serious" political "leaders" are sound fiscal managers???? We have a provincial "leader" who is turning Ontario into a fiscal third world country and a Federal "leader" who is.......well words fail me without some adjectives I would rather not use....
  3. But we didn't! O'Leary had the cojones to...........just sayin'. BTW who really cares what he is worth? Has little to do with this issue......
  4. Yup would much rather have an O'Leary 'clown" ....as Bill says he is right!
  5. Quite frankly, doesn't matter a hill of beans to me either!
  6. So I can only assume that when you call O'Leary the names you do that you agree with Ms. Wynne's fiscal policies and the fact that successive Liberal governments have created a debt in Ontario that your children will still be paying in their retirement years! Assuming of course they don't continue spending like drunken sailors then just substitute your grandchildren! Similarly, our newly appointed Federal government is off to a cracking start, hopefully we can find some clause somewhere that enables us to impeach for incompetence before we spend ourselves into obscurity!
  7. The great thing about this forum is that it is what it is. A bunch of like minded guys and gals who not only enjoy sharing a common interest but also have interests outside of the fishing world. Some of us belong to many forums, some strictly fishing where you don't dare post anything other than the catch of the day!. We have debated this topic ad nauseum and the vast majority of members, old and new also like it how it is. Some choose to share more of the non fishing events in their lives some do not. The Admins do a great job of pulling in the reins from time to time when we get out of line, but one of the great things is that we are somewhat self policing.....those that come here to stir the pot for poops and giggles don't last long.. I too have been around almost from the start and don't get on as much as I would like as I am currently working 12-14 hour days building a business.......BUT it's what this community is that keeps me coming back.
  8. No such thing as a free phone. You pay for it in your plan
  9. We are pretty sure that we are going to fly and take two weeks.
  10. Thanks appreciate the info..
  11. Of course the other option is to take an RV out there? Although I have heard Cape Breton can be an issue?
  12. Thanks so much guys! I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. Think we are going to do two weeks but still haven't decided whether to fly or drive...
  13. Thanks so much Peter I will be in touch closer to the date!
  14. Thanks Cliff Yes let's make sure we do get together soon. Would love to see you and Sue again and of course hear about your East Coast trip. J..
  15. Hearty Congratulations!!
  16. Thanks Thanks Adam
  17. Cool thanks
  18. Anywhere I can wet a line from the shore Bruce? Not sure what to expect that time of year?
  19. Thanks Dave We are probably going to rent a place on the South Shore for a week or maybe 10 days then drive over to PEI. I was thinking by flying we could save 3-4 days to spend there...
  20. Thought I would throw this out there as I know there are a few East Coaster's on this board. Barbara and I are planning a trip to Nova Scotia end of August/early Sept. It's still in the planning stage as we haven't decided whether to drive or fly. We are planning a week or so in Nova Scotia and then driving to PEI for 3-4 days. If we fly we can fly into Halifax and home from Charlottetown so really no restrictions there. If we drive we will probably go one way through US and the other through Canada. OK here's the 'ting.......neither of us have spent any time there so looking for recommendations as a base. Also any must see's or do's other than the typical tourist stuff? We like pretty much everything except laying on the beach (love to walk the beach at low tide though)... To make this a fishing thread, any thoughts suggestions for shore fishing (beach or pier) ...? We can do Bed and Breakfast or rent a cottage/vacation property. All suggestions/comments/thoughts gratefully received either in this thread or by PM.. Cheers, J...
  21. There is no fix for stupid!
