  1. I bought the same or similar one at Canadian tire. It is still too soon to see if it is much better than the crap that is included with the basic safety kits. Canadian tire also sells a Fox 40 brand waterproof light for ~$20 or so. The ones in the kits don't need to get wet to stop working. I am hoping the new ones are a little more reliable. The ziplock bag will keep them dry, but I am not if is meets the legal requirement for a waterproof flash light.
  2. It has been less than a month since the PC government was sworn in on May 3, 2016; and less than two weeks since their first sitting in the house on May 16, 2016. The NDP was incharge for nearly 17 years before then. Who do you think is responsible for the current tax rates, or anything else in the province?
  3. Maybe worth a try... https://twitter.com/_Matty_H_/status/735648885104771072
  4. Not enough to stop you from wanting more.
  5. A friend of mine grows a banana tree on his place on Simcoe each year.
  6. Do you have removeable light posts? If so, the post and base may be the issue.
  7. Well they certainly made that one interesting. But I guess they're not toast yet.
  8. A 125hp will. Some of the smaller motors do not have alternators to charge a battery. But larger motors will come with an alternator to charge the battery. As long a you are not running an electric trolling motor, the main motor should keep your battery charged.
  9. You definitely need a battery. A single marine starting battery should be able to handle it. Walmart and Costco have good value for your money.
  10. Hopefully, all of the beverage companies will start using this. http://news.discovery.com/earth/oceans/brewery-makes-edible-six-pack-rings-160520.htm
  11. Use a Sony water proof phone. The you can display picture of bait and 'match the hatch' in all conditions.
  12. Those changes are not perfect. But I think they are an improvement.
  13. The current mayor and the last one are/were Conservative; (the current one would be considered to be a 'Red Tory'). The mayor before that was NDP. The four recent terms (including the current one) are split two each for Conservative and NDP. At the federal and provincial level; the GTA definetly does not vote Conservative. The GTA is a Liberal stronghold with the NDP also doing well in many parts of Toronto. There is not a lot of blue in the GTA.
  14. Yes, this is true. While it is officially to cover the cost of negotiations. I believe the teachers' union did donate to the Liberal party so the optics are not good on this. That may be true. The federal Liberals promised to eliminate the 'most votes wins' system that we have used since Confederation. The details of the new system have not been announced. It is likely that we will end up with ranked ballots, which would favour the Liberals. I am not sure about that one. The current federal system is pretty good. No corporate or union donations can be made to federal parties or candidates. There are limits on individual donations so it is difficult for rich individuals to buy candidates. Unfortunately, corporations and unions can still donate to provincial parties and candidates. If they make any changes, I hope they have the provinces adopt the current federal rules. Currently the Liberals have a big advantage at the provincial level. I don't think that has been finalized yet. But it is not a joke. They are considering this.
  15. The 9th pick is listed as from Denver. Do the Raps still have their own 1st round pick as well?
  16. Was that federal or provincial? Trudeau hasn't screwed up nearly as much as McGuinty/Wynne.
  17. Does this mean that a bet on the Warriors will pay 50:1
  18. You may want to check your facts on that... "Gas studies at volcanoes worldwide have helped volcanologists tally up a global volcanic CO2 budget in the same way that nations around the globe have cooperated to determine how much CO2 is released by human activity through the burning of fossil fuels. Our studies show that globally, volcanoes on land and under the sea release a total of about 200 million tonnes of CO2annually. This seems like a huge amount of CO2, but a visit to the U.S. Department of Energy's Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC) website (http://cdiac.ornl.gov/) helps anyone armed with a handheld calculator and a high school chemistry text put the volcanic CO2 tally into perspective. Because while 200 million tonnes of CO2 is large, the global fossil fuel CO2emissions for 2003 tipped the scales at 26.8 billion tonnes. Thus, not only does volcanic CO2 not dwarf that of human activity, it actually comprises less than 1 percent of that value." http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/volcanowatch/archive/2007/07_02_15.html https://www.skepticalscience.com/volcanoes-and-global-warming.htm
  19. I wouldn't say that they are on another level. Cleveland finished the season one game again of Toronto. But Toronto won the head to head series. I think that puts them at about the same level. Golden State is another level. Hopefully, I am glad I was wrong on that one. I would love to see them in the final.
  20. I think that is splitting hairs. Isn't the bay part of Lake Huron?
  21. Technically, it is the exact opposite. Monsanto foods crops are one of the only (if not the only) plants that it does not work on. They have developed a plant(s) that can survice a herbicide that kills everything else.
  22. Well, I know what one pretty famous person would say... "If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you're not sure you can do it, say yes - then learn how to do it later." - Richard Branson
  23. Interesting product http://www.bulletbobber.com/
  24. You still need something to charge it with. A litte solar panel is not gowing to recharge the extra battery in a day. If the OP is roughing it for a 4-5 days; I doubt that he would be bringing a solar installation big enough to actually do anything worth while.
  25. From what I understand, they are not native. They did not exist in southern Ontario prior to about 1900 or so ago. They are believed to have extended their range from out west. So, they could be considered invasive. They did have a population explosion prior to the popularity of DDT. DDT did wipe most of them out and they did make a rebound (understatement) in recent years. I don't think the cause of their expension from out west is fully understood. The presence of alewife (another invader) is one theory as to why they expanded their range.
