Guess I slept through it all,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Great Egret -
They used to do that. I guess that they decided that carrying a piece of paper around was better.

I hope that you are correct. But the highlighed areas below imply that will have to carry either paper or electronic copies of licences with us. Licensing Modernization • Simplify the regulations and reduce the number of components that make up a licence, reflecting a modernized approach to licensing by creating a single licence document that would list all of the clients’ valid licences. These changes would help to reduce the many different types and formats of hunting and fishing licences, and allow for licences to be self-printed at a client’s home if they desire. • As part of this proposal, clients would have the option of having their licence document delivered to them digitally (e.g. email) and allow them to maintain the document in a digital format (e.g. on a smartphone), which would eliminate the need to print the licence document for those clients that would prefer to maintain a digital copy. • The printed paper copy of the licence document would continue to be maintained for those clients who prefer to have a hardcopy of their licences in hand. The system would allow for the licence document to be printed or reprinted by the client or by request at a licence issuer location (e.g. following the purchase of a licence or prior to going fishing or hunting).

There are proposed changes to the outdoors card. They claim that they are modernizing the system. It doesn't sound to modern to me. If I am reading this correctly, it looks like they are moving more into the direction of us having to carry individual copies of each licence (fishing, hunting, etc.) in addition to the card. However, they may allow you to save it on your smart phone rather than carry in a printed copy. I wonder if a dead battery will lead to a failing to produce a licence charge. If we have to carry Individual licences, then what is the point in having the outdoors card? I don't see any reason why they cannot store all of your licence information on the card itself. These could be printed on the card if you purchase the licences at the time you purchase the card. The license information could also be electronically stored on the card. Service Ontario (and possibly other outlets) should be able to updated electronic information on the card for any additional licences that you purchase from them. If a CO had a cell or satellite signal, they would be able to verify the information on the licence with the MNR data base. If they don't have a signal, they could rely on the printed or electronic information on the card. https://www.ebr.gov.on.ca/ERS-WEB-External/displaynoticecontent.do?noticeId=MTMyNTI1&statusId=MjAxMjQy&language=en https://www.facebook.com/theOFAH/app/126231547426086/?app_data=%7B%7D

You could, but the information on the screen would be what your stern has already passed. Having the transducer on the bow motor is providing more up to date information when casting of the front deck.

No luck fishing in the turning basin of the Toronto Harbour
John Bacon replied to jimvanm's topic in General Discussion
It's illegal to fish there; or anywhere else in the shipping channel. The eastern and western gaps are also off limits for fishing. Re: "David Clark Toronto Port Authority Law States there is no fishing in the East and West Gaps of the Toronto Harbour or the Shipping Channel and connected Turn Around Basin either from shore or boat. You may be charged under Rule(s) # 24 and 25 of the Practices and Proceedures Document June 2000 Toronto Port Authority. The fine is $2000. How do i know this? In 2012 the Toronto Marine Unit tried to charge a few of us with that law but when we were fishing from the shoreline of Toronto's Parks. We fought it and won. TUFA was born from this battle. But had we been fishing thew western Gap or the other locations we would have been charged, convicted and fined. End of this arguement. Xiao knows Toronto fishing and Ontario fishing regulations better than most. He is also a great angler. If he offers advice it might be best to listen and not argue a defence or enabling angle. You asked...he told you how it is. http://www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/contentonly?vgnextoid=0187085e63957410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD&vgnextchannel=5c98dada600f0410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD -
If you count a Dipsey, Spin Doctor, & Fly as one, them salmon fishers may give the muskie guys (& gals) a run for their money.

Looking for some Concrete advice on a major issue.
John Bacon replied to LeXXington's topic in General Discussion
If you do settle for five year warrantly, don't pay them right away. Pay them in installments over the five years. That way, if there is problem, they will have to actually honour the warranty in order to get full payment. -
Maybe they all live less than twenty minutes from the arena.

What Are Some Good Frog Hunting Locations In WMU82?
John Bacon replied to Huck764's topic in General Discussion
I am pretty sure that leopard frogs are the only ones that you are allowed to use for bait. I am not sure if you are allowed to eat them. So which species you are allowed to hunt may depend on whether you plan to eat them or use them as bait. -
Nice muskie. Congratulations on your new PB.

And only weighs 16 to 24 tons. What does a ton of steel go for these days? -

Are you paying the full amount? The work they completed was less than what they were contracted to perform. Perhaps pay the remaining 50% in instalments over the 5 year life of the warranty. That way you have leverage if you need to have repairs done. -
Tipping the pilot on a fly in fishing trip

Rip a $100 bill in half and hand him one piece when he drops you off -
I usually run a fly 18" to 24" behind mine.

It shows up on the Guide for me too. But is will show a 'no longer available' message if I try to select the channel.

Some insurance policies will pay the cost of a brand new vehicle for up to the first five years. I pay extra for that feature. Check to see if you have that.

I do the same. That is what I was taught when I took my outboard motor repair course. -

I wish they still sold the lower end oil in the tubes. It was easier to add the oil from a tube without the pump kit than it is to use the kit with the bottle. I wonder why they changed. -
True, but the two are related.
-
I think the official answer was low viewership.

I wouldn't expect the dealer to replace the seals when the oil is changed. If you're lucky, they may put new gaskets in the two screws in the lower end. Was the oil a milky colour? That would indicate water in the oil. -

It is earlier than before. It used to be the last Saturday in June; then the fourth; now the third. It will also open later in years when June starts on a Sunday.
