  1. You would think that on a lake that size they'd be able find enough room to spread out a little.
  2. It's rare, but not impossible. The south end of Scugog and Longpoint in Lake Erie are a couple of examples were they restrict you from boating in navigatalble waters. It's possible that a marina could have similar rights granted from the federal government, but not likely.
  3. Will you have power at your trailer? If so, bringing the batteries back to your trailer to be recharged is the most practicle solution. I don't think solar is going to cut it. Odds are, somebody will complain about your generator.
  4. The plan is to stock walleye in Toronto in odd years and Hamilton in even years. So will be getting more walleye in future. I don't think the success of the project relies exclusively on the improvement of the Don River (although that will help). So, there is no reason not to start stocking now.
  5. I told my son, “You will marry the girl I choose.” He said, “NO!” I told him, “She is Bill Gates’ daughter.” He said, “OK.” I called Bill Gates and said, “I want your daughter to marry my son.” Bill Gates said, “NO.” I told Bill Gates, My son is the CEO of World Bank.” Bill Gates said, “OK.” I called the President of World Bank and asked him to make my son the CEO. He said, “NO.” I told him, “My son is Bill Gates’ son-in-law.” He said, “OK.” This is exactly how politics works . . .
  6. A friend of mine described a spiral septic system to about 30 years ago. He said they take less room than a traditional septic bed. I don't really have any more information than the fact that they do exist.
  7. 100,000 walleye stocked into Toronto Harbour https://ca.news.yahoo.com/lake-ontario-walleye-population-grows-134713430.html
  8. Here is some more information if anyone wants to have some input on the waterfront project. Good Afternoon, As someone who has expressed interest in the Scarborough Waterfront Project by submitting comments/questions since the commencement of the Environmental Assessment (EA) last January 2016, the Project Team wanted to ensure you were aware that the Scarborough Waterfront Project will be going to the Authority on Friday, July 28th. The agenda for this meeting will become available on Friday, July 21st on this webpage (https://trca.ca/about/boards-committees/minutes-agendas/). If you would like to make a delegation in regard to the Scarborough Waterfront Project to the Authority on July 28th, complete the Request for Delegation Form found here: https://trca.ca/about/boards-committees/delegation-information/ If you would like to submit a correspondence item to be on the agenda, on its own or in addition to making a delegation, please send an electronic copy to Kathy Stranks at [email protected]. Should you have any further questions regarding the delegation process please contact the CEO’s Office at 416-661-6600, extension 5264. The deadlines for delegation confirmation/correspondence submission are July 19th (to make the regular agenda), OR July 26th (to make the added agenda). Kind Regards, The Scarborough Waterfront Project Team
  9. I thought that is was ling / burbot that were known as poor man's lobster.
  10. You can consider a slide diver. Similar to a Dipsey Diver but will slide down the line once it is tripped. Then you can run as long of a lead as you want.
  11. So, a bag/box is okay but a single can is a problem? That seems to be what you are implying.
  12. That is not true. I have used my boat to transport empty beer cans that somebody else had drank from while on dry land. Just because there is an empty beer can in the boat, it doesn't mean that somebody drank from the can while they were on the boat. If this particular example, the can was in a Rubbermaid container. The empty can could have been placed in the Rubbermaid container before the container was placed in the boat.
  13. I used Photobucket to post the pictues in this post. They seem to be working. This just start within the last few days? http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84730
  14. From what I understand, the marina with the ramp on the east side has been purchased by a group intending to build condos. TRCA plans to "improve" the ramp on the west side, but their "improvements" don't seem to include a place to park your vehicle and trailer. Neither of those launches are very good to begin with; and we may lose one altogether and most of the parking at the other one. There was consideration for a marina at beechgroove, which is pretty close to Port Union. I think the Guild Inn is a better location though; that is still not too far from Port Union. The plan has already been modified due to public input. So if enough people give feed back there is potential for them to add a launch and/or marina.
  15. The TRCA is looking for some input for the Scarborough Waterfront project. They do not currently plan to include a marina because existing marinas do not have waiting lists for dock space. However, another post on this board mentioned that one of the marinas at Frenchman's Bay was purchased by a group intending to build condos. If the marina in Frenchman’s Bay closes, there may not be enough dock space in other marinas to accommodate boats currently docked at Frenchman's Bay. I think it is important that the TRCA understand this. I have posted some links below where people can post their thoughts. The environmental assessment will be completed this year, so time is running out for us to include our input. Boat launches are another issue. Even if there is sufficient docking space for those who keep their boats in the water, I think we are already short on launches for those of us trailer our boats. I have had to turn around a leave Bluffers Park without launching because the parking lot was full. If we lose the launch at Frenchman’s Bay, this problem will become even worse. Even if the TRCA does not include a marina, they should at least include a boat launch with parking. 16. I think another company manufactured them for a while after that. I remember seeing in Angler's Pride packaging. I think they are completely gone now though. Correct. Benos were available in straight, jointed, & eel versions.
  17. Because they don't have the clamp-ons for under $300.
  18. Cannon cancelled my order for a Cannon clamp-on rod holder. I still see some on their site; but they are priced at over $300. I do see a reasonably priced on on the https://www.fishntech.com/site. It looks legit; but I am hoping someone who has dealt with them can confirm. https://www.fishntech.com/cn_single_axis.html
  19. I think the bottom one is a Reefer. As mentioned, the other two are Fire Plug and Beno. I don't think Benos are made anymore; but I have had a lot of success with them.
  20. If not, you could have one made. I can put you in touch with the person who made the adapter for my Salty. http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84730
  21. Isn't it a little top heavy sitting up that high? Or, do you have outriggers?
  22. Six months in jail for scavenging at a dump? Wow! Was that for multiple offences?
  23. I know a lot of you are getting custom brackets to mount Salty II clamp-ons on tracks. Here is an alternative setup that I have for my boat. I had a Salty II bolt-on rod holder. The bolt-on bracket has square holes so it is idea lag bolts with counter bore underneath. That gives it a nice clean look.
  24. No, you don't need a card to rent a boat. But the renter must walk you through a safety check list. But if you own your own boat, you will need the boaters card even for an electric motor. To the OP: I think all of the lakes around Peterborough have bass in them. The Otonabe river is another option. There are no guarantees though; fishing doesn't work that way.
