  1. i believe the only public launch is on the norh side, if you are coming up from Toronto i would suggest you just launch at Lauderdale Marina on the south side at the mouth of the river. Lauderdale Point Resort 3500 Lauderdale Point Cr. Severn Bridge , ON rocks yes, stay inbetween the channel markers when motoring, use electric anywhere else.
  2. Crazy pictures, a classic Holmes on Homes episode there.
  3. A few things to consider. What is your old sonar like? do you have GPS? you may be better off to spend new money on new technology with GPS for your main sonar, and move your old to the trolling motor, providing it is adequate. All i need my front finder to do is give me depth, bottom type so i can stay on weed lines, breaks etc. Also, like the others have said, leave slack in the cable, and be careful when you stow the motor.......it can cut the cable if you are not careful.
  4. from the MNR website Fishery laws limit the number of fish you may catch or possess. The number depends on the type of licence you hold, the species, where they are caught and, in some cases, their size. For some species there are no limits. In these cases no reference is made to a limit in the Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary. The catch limit is the number of fish you are allowed to catch and keep in one day, and includes fish that are retained for any period of time and any fish eaten or given away. The possession limit is the number you are allowed to have in your possession on hand, in cold storage, in transit or anywhere. Possession limits are the same as one day's catch limit except where otherwise specified. So that would mean, he could not give away he morning catch then legally go fishing in the afternoon. MNR catch and posession
  5. love it when the value of accessories(wheel rims and trolling motor) exceed the value of both vehicles.
  6. your license is to make it legal to fish, your limit is for possession of fish. So it becomes illegal to have a freezer full/or cooler over your personal limit at any time. So even with your permission if caught on the lake with more fish on a stringer and full posession at the cottage he is fishing ilegally. "The catch limit is the number of fish you are allowed to catch and keep in one day, and includes fish that are retained for any period of time and any fish eaten or given away. 7. i was out last night as well......fished the bottom of the bay with my son, Largies sure had a case of lock jaw.
  8. i agree avoid the DC area, you dont want to get caught there in rush hrs.
  9. I feel for you brother. I also had a beagle for not enough years. They usually, when in familiar areas return to where they started. My guess he showed up somewhere and is with somebody who has taken him in. Get the word out. good luck and let us know how you make out.
  10. like your sound and soul. Good luck gentlemen.
  11. Sweet fish. Glad it worked out for your clients. looks like a Solid 6lb Erie smally?
  12. Nice Work Stoty, is that Sturgeon Lake?
  13. Was it Fogged for storage, do you fogg a 4stroke? if so, I usually put an old set of clean plugs for the first running, and then replace them with new plugs or good set from previous year. Sometimes the burning off of the fogging oil can fowl a plug on ya. don't forget to replace the lower unit gear oil as well. Even if you put new oil in to winterize it. I find a new fill up or at a mininum a top up is required for peace of mind. Grease the prop shaft as well.
  14. all good stories......likely not true...oh well
  15. Nice day, i can't wait until they move to the eastern basin, so i can get out to get them as well.
  16. This picture was taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over Lake Wiess about > >90 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama. Game warden and helicopter pilot conversation "'Air1 have you a visual on the gator, over'> >> > 'Approaching inlet now, over'> >> > 'Roger Air1'> >> > 'Gator sighted. Looks like it has a small animal in its mouth.. > >moving in, over'> >> > 'Roger Air1'> >> > 'It's a Deer!'> >> > 'confirm Air1.. did you say Deer?, Over'> >> > 'Roger.. a Deer in its mouth.. looks like a full sized buck.. > >that's a big gator, were gonna need more men, Over'> >> > 'Roger Air1..can you give me a idea on size of animal, over'> >> > 'Its big 25 feet at least, please advise Gator is heading to > >inlet.. do I pursue?, over'> >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >> > That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!> >> > The deer was later found to be a mature Stag and was measured at > >11?feet! Are you ready to go fishing on Lake Wiess? you're gonna need a big boat!!! The gator measured 28ft, the game warden in the picture is 6.5ft tall
  17. Lew, i think i have the same boat as you, (crestliner cv182?)and i can understand the space issue, however i would have thought you could go larger then grp 27's? The last set i purchased was the combo type and i would not do it again, they don't seem to keep the charge as well as the pure deep cycle's i've had in the past. I figured the on board charger is not suited for dual types (no expert just my feeling as to why) I use a combo for the cranking battery, as i also run the accessories off of and it has given me no issues at all. It's also time for a new set of deep cycles for me as well, so if you find a set that works for you, and the price is right, let me know please.
  18. General Manager for a Technology company that sells and implements CRM and ERP software, to mid to large size companies, in many different verticals. This role allows me to feel the pulse of the economy(well at least where most of us work) I'll exclude the big oil guys (we know how tough it is for them right now...ya right) With an aging population, and the traditional manufacturing industry moving out of north america for good, whatever you decide to do, make sure it's related to providing services. In 10 - 15 years the north american work force will be 80% services vs manufacturing based. At your young age, i think this is important to consider. You dont want to be 50 yrs old, and find yourself an out of work CAW worker, this is an extreme example, but true. good luck
  19. their merc motor pricing is still the best in the market. Well at least it was last summer, when i needed a new motor in a hurry.
