  1. I may just try to get ya to scratch your head a bit about it......first i have to confirm we are going. thanks
  2. be careful of the submerged railway between tick Island and the north shore. Rice has channel markers in those areas for a reason.
  3. thanks, if we go in the fall, what should the target fish be? can walleye or pike be found on it?
  4. "Stranak said the cormorants killed Wednesday will be collected and sent to the Canadian Wildlife Service for toxicology research." My guess is they will determine the cause of death to be Lead poisoning!
  5. Update, I just found it thanks to the link that Irishfield sent out on Crown land atlas. thanks
  6. Already thinking about fall fishing and hunting plans. Any-one (i suspect one member may, who seems to be the Temagami expert) know of, or could pin point Alice Lake in relationship to Rabbit Lake? thanks
  7. love it, when a plan comes together.......I'm not shocked at all, in fact it's about 5 years late.
  8. Great news, and as others have said, so often we only hear bad things about our doctors and health care system. I dont think you mentioned the doctors involved, and would you care to share that with us? i can understand if you don't. thanks
  9. UPDATE checked axle, seems ok, and unlikely cause of trouble, metal looks to be unstressed. I couldnt confirm since this typle of trailer axle (shorelander) is round, and deeps to go under the transom of the boat. checked bearing play, seemed solid, no wiggle in it. so that leaves tire inflation (under inflation) the likely factor.....that and my neglect to monitor it all last season new digital tire inflation gauge now in truck. inflation set at 45lbs, 5lbs less then spec.....anyone suggest differently? thanks for the help
  10. Nice report, i plan on the same idea, we have a beaver dam we go to as well every spring. Amazing you didnt get stuck...maybe thank the beavers for that and the trout.
  11. thanks, i might need to take you up on that. I really hope its not the axle.
  12. thanks, great advice as always. I guess it won't hurt to change the bearings(due anyway). Check the axle, likely easiest when the wheel is off. Check the axle alignment/level as well. a new axle.....likely the most expensive part of a trailer i would think. i'll let you know what i find out. thanks again, i appreciate the advice
  13. So the good news is, i got a new tire for my trailer. The bad news.....well i'm not sure what caused the tire wear only on one side of the trailer. I have not traveled enough with this boat to create this kind of wear in the last few years. Left side tire is fine, (normal wear), right side see pictures below. So any expert advice would be appreciated, don't want to wear down this new tire, if something is wrong. I'm hoping it was just my negligence on tire pressure? (btw what do most of you set your tire pressure at? for bias ply) Could it be alignment? it trailers fine(pulls straight) looking for your thoughts and comments.
  14. one from last year, getting my son into flippin and dippin
  15. Great report, nice to see your son, and dad hunting together, very special indeed. Taking my son for his first hunt next weekend, as a Hunting Aprentice, i hope he gets to shot one. i never would have thought those electric calls, would do the trick....now we have proof they work.
  16. Nicely done, i hope you get another.
  17. Sorry to hear about this. I'm sure it happened more then once today. I've also had it happen to me during the deer hunt. I hope you get another chance, to take a bird from your spot.
  18. good work! i'll get my chance next weekend
  19. I've done this before, when i refurb an ol springbok a few years back. Totally rebuilt the console, and replaced the cheap toggle fuse switches with newer rocker type. I found a great assortment of panels at Sandy cove Marine in Innisfil. They have a Marine flee market upstairs. I'm sure you will find something that will work for you there. I've had great success, looking for everything from trailer parts to boat covers, and everything inbetween, up there.
  20. Love this site, way cool. Confirms what i thought. Perch fishn in Simcoe side of Orillia....will be a bust. This south wind all week has moved the ice that way.
  21. keep me up to date on the Turkey sightings.....the fields in Innisfil have plenty. I stopped last night when i saw a flock to practice calling(ya i always keep the call in the car, just in case) The Toms are definately interested...now that the weather has changed.
  22. If your looking for Turkeys.......the golf course is a good place to find many of them......come to think of it, lots of similarities...they often group up, they strut around all fancy like......and many have spikes on....they do however respond to a different type of calling....but i'm sure if you yelled "tom" at the golf course you would get an answer back...you might even find an old hen or two, to ruin your day.
  23. Well if all goes as planned (hey sometimes it happens!) Saturday, my son is taking the Hunters Education course....looking forward to taking him Turkey hunting on his 14th bday 1st w/e of May. I plan to do my annual "smoke out the neighbours" by de fogging my boat motor in the drive way.....always good for a few laughs. Sunday i plan to get perchin on Simcoe for at least a few hours, mainly to run the boat for the first time this spring. any other Turkey Hunters out there?
