I've used both the dinsmore and water gremlin shot. One thing I noticed was that the dinsmore shot are smaller than the water gremlin when you compare the weight. What I mean is that a smaller size dinsmore will weigh the same as a slightly larger gremlin shot. Must be more lead content in the dinsmore?
You can get a 17' boat in your garage. Just move your winch post ahead so that the bunks of the trailer are flush with the transom. This will make the overall length shorter but it will add more tongue weight. Most boats on the trailer are too light on the hitch anyway. With a swing tongue and the motor turned to one side, you should have enough clearance to fit.
You could get carpet that just snaps in place over the vinyl (dome snaps). Easy to do on your own, buy some marine carpet, cut to size, screw snaps in the floor at each corner.
I bought my truck from the same place 3 years ago. Came with snow tires as well, truck was from Quebec. Mandatory to have snows there I think. No problems so far, they must have some connection with that province.
If you go to the Fishing show at the International Center, there is also a Kidsfest in the other hall. We toured the fishing show last year, then had a blast with the kids at Kidsfest.

Congrats to Ed Barbosa on a giant fish release.
I'd like to know how it was weighed. Cradle?
Also I'm curious about the certified scale. Was it on land? Or a hand-held scale in the boat?
I guess I'll have to wait for more info to come out.
I wear it when running in rough water. I took out the stock tether and replaced it with and old curly headphone cord I had laying around.
Now I can wear it and move around the boat when downrigging alone in choppy water.
