  1. Dang !!!...Now you got me wonderin'...As reported earlier I caught a 2 1/2 largemouth in Pigeon Lake...(not my favorite to eat) but had it been a couple of smallmouth in that size range...I would have had a hard time deciding as I do like smallie fillets... Sure wish they would hurry up and let us know what is killing the carp and if our waters/fish are potable/eatable... Did not see any dead carp anywhere in Tait's Bay while driftfishing...
  2. On the east side of White's Island...prob be a few boats anchored just off shore...
  3. One of these days you are going to make a fishing report with fish Rene...Keep trying... I got one nice largemouth about 2 1/2 lbs while playing with my Sabiki Rig this morning plus a bunch of the Worlds Greatest Sportsfish, several small smallies, a bull bluegill and a perch. Glen sez to use live bait with the rig but I just added four Fin-S Minnows and drift-fished away...looked like a small school of minnows... Sky got dark at 11:00 AM so I headed back in...just as I got to the lagoon I ran out of gas...was able to nurse it over to my dock ok and fill the motor up before the rain... My 4 hp Merc fills at the top and I get good milage out of a 10 litre jerry can
  4. That doesn't make sense Cliff...a number of carp were tested elsewhere and they were full of zebra mussels...not sure where I read this as I have been checking several local newspapers via "google " to keep abreast of the carp news... I trust you are having your water tested...

  15. Iv'e been wanting to try the ''Sabiki Rig" Glen gave me at Lakair and today was the day...Boy do the rockbass ever like it !!! I hope Herb approves as it seems that is all the fish gods were providing with one exception...I switched to a tube jig and caught a very lucky smallmouth...any bigger than it was it would have been kept for cleaning... Herb never kept bass so I dedicated the smallie to Lew's brother EddyK... Then the rains came...end of story.
  16. Sorry for late reply...Barrie would provide the least crowded area to fish on a long weekend...unless there are any special events happening ???
  17. Quote from my reply to an earlier thread... "Tough question...When I lived in Richmond Hill I did most of my shore fishing at Lakes Simcoe and Couchiching... The shoreline at downtown Barrie...the fishing pier at the park in downtown Orillia... and at the mouth of the Trent canal just north of Beaverton"... Someone posted the MNR list of places to fish in the GTA not so long ago...try doing a search for it...lots of good info...
  18. I've seen lots of people launch canoes and cartoppers into the river at Bradford (west side of bridge, south of hwy 11) then head on down to the mouth at Lake Simcoe (Cooks Bay)... Should be safe as long as you don't venture out too far from shore...
  19. Tough question...When I lived in Richmond Hill I did most of my shore fishing at Lakes Simcoe and Couchiching... The shoreline at downtown Barrie...the fishing pier at the park in downtown Orillia... and at the mouth of the Trent canal just north of Beaverton... If you are new, try worms or casting some mepps spinners tipped with a piece of worm...
  20. Just read the news Cliff and I'm a bit shocked and at a loss for words...Give our love to Sue and you both have our deepest symphathy... Is there anything we can do...give us a call. Beans and Maribeth
  21. Hey Cliff...Getting skunked is all part of fishing so reports of a skunk is in order here...puts everything in proper perspective and brings us back to reality...
  22. "If its not it writting it never happend." "If you don't have a signiture of recieving it , It never happened." Geeze LeXX...You sound like Meely... "Did you get it into the boat?...No...Then it's only a story !" Sandy:...Sic Adam on to them...That should scare the crap out of them !!!
