  1. Relax Dawg...this needle is for pricking my finger to get a blood glucose reading on my monitor... Sympathy is right between sh** and syphillis in the dictionary so you don't need none of those...
  2. Wanna catch pike?...Fish for bass...That is what happened to Motv8tr and me on Saturday morning at Lakair...Don't know Sparrow but I bet it is the same...
  3. Great report Rich and now I've got a pic of Crappy Steve with the antique bedpan... Thanks for posting...
  4. AAWWwwww Poor Dawg... If he doesn't cheer up soon...should we have him put down ???
  5. Welcome to the world of OFC Community... Try tossing some Senkos in watermelon or white or some Phenix 2 1/2 or 3 inch salted tubes (various colors) in the mornings or evenings...Top water baits are also good at these times and probably better after dark...Catch a Bunch !!!
  6. HEY...I was s'posed to win that !!! Damn that Kevin...I betcha he told everyone that to sell the tickets... Oh well, enjoy douG...sure will be better to watch the Blue Jays in HD than listening to the broadcast from Sudbury on the radio...
  7. I thought I had a shot of Crappy Steve winning the Lakair Lodge donated prize but I guess I was laughing so much I missed taking one... I don't know how Spiel can concentrate on fishing with Steve in his boat...what a hoot...Nanook was right...he does remind me of Jerry Colona... Sorry I didn't take many more pics but those that met me know that I was too busy talking their heads off to take pictures
  8. After a very enjoyable drive up to Lakair with my pal Jack (Nanook) I bunked in with Maureen (my daughter) for three nights in cabin #6 at the top of the hill... here are a few pics I took: Maureen enjoying life... Shelley taking a pic of me taking a pic of her... And a few random shots:
  9. Happy Birthday Big Guy !!! I hope you enjoy your gift when it arrives... I'm not telling, but I know what you're getting...LOL
  10. Ya...Thanks Pal for bringing that Beansguy along...You made the miles fly by...seems like we no sooner left our place and we were there...sorry we didn't get to fish together but we can do that anytime living where we do... Here is a souvenier for you...
  11. Hey...Wadda ya mean "old geezers"...I resemble that remark...
  12. 18 carp in one day !!!...I may get that many all season... Actually, I may be half way there already...landing four last time helps the count...
  13. I've never fished for bass at Lakair before so Saturday will be interesting... Torn between throwing a Baby Torpedo or my favorite Phenix tube... Decisions...decisions !
  14. I can't seem to locate the recipe...maybe just as well...probably take Kevin and Leslie a week to air out the campgrounds and cabins...
  15. Don't catch all the fish...save some for when Jack (Nanook) and I get there Thursday afternoon...
  16. Good one Steve... At Carp Point we have to contend with the chipmunks stealing our corn and groundbait...if you don't seal your containers tight the little beggers will find a way to pry a corner open and crawl right inside... We will try and get a picture of them next time...
  17. I could put together a pretty mean bean salad from a favorite recipe but do you think it would be a safe thing to do ??? My niece didn't want me to make one for our trip to her place as long as Uncle Dave was coming...No explanation required...
  18. Welcome aboard Gunsmith and Happy Father's Day... Great kid you got there...we try to keep him on the straight and narrow...he strays off once in a while but we back him up...at least until his nose bleeds !!! Just kidding...I'm a Brian fan...
  19. Phenix 2 1/2 inch salted, smoke colored tubes are my favorite...Smallies think they're candy... Drag 'em along bottom...swim 'em like a minnow...or fish 'em under a float... They caught me four 5 lb smallies and one 4 lb smallie one day in Rice Lake a few years ago when they first came out...
  20. I read in the Lindsay "This Week" that residents will not be charged as long as they keep the carp double bagged and not combined with their normal garbage... Bloody nice of the township eh?
  21. Friday...15 June 2007 My best day yet...both CPH and I caught and landed 4 each including a double header...we nearly had another double header but Steve's hook pulled loose...forgot the count of the number we lost...several for sure Don't know if I'll get a chance to carp fish over the weekend...Steve's son is coming up tonight to spend time with his dad (Father's Day) and our "swim" is good for only two carpers especially if one is right-handed and the other left...I'll take a run over in the morning to see how they are doing... I'd like to say thanks to Crappieperchhunter for doing all my unhooking for me...I'm getting too unstable in my old age to be scrambling down the rocks to the water's edge... Dang!...it's a (female dawg) to get old so don't do it...it hurts too much !!!
  22. Hey Dutch... Whenever they get the 407 finished over to the 115 your home in the west end of P'Boro should turn out to be a good investment...maybe by then you will be able to buy a bigger and better waterfront property...
  23. No place to buy baiting needles up this way so I just straighten out a medium size jig with the thinnest wire hook I can find...push it through the boilie then pick up the loop in the hair rig with the barb of the jig and pull it back through the boilie and use (whatever) for a stopper...I find the strips of barbell stoppers work well...put one in place...push it down tight to the boilie...then snip it off with tiny scissors I like to add a couple of kernels of maize with the boilie but not sure if they are necessary... I hope the carp like your homemade boilies...let us know
  24. Wednesday...One decent crappie and 2 good sized bluegill was all we caught worth mentioning but not enough to bother cleaning so, after a nice boatride in the keepewr basket, they were released... Thursday...CPH went 6 for 10 and I went 1 for 3 in the carp department...I should have started earlier...he said he was 3 for 5 before I got there at 07:30 AM...
  25. Good for using as a leader due to being invisible under water but I found it lousy as a line...it's been a while but I do remember it was not good for casting...
