  4. Received this in my e-mail this morning...had to share... A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn and screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed, and placed in a holding cell. After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects. He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Choose Life' License plate holder, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' bumper Sticker, And the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk, Naturally...I assumed you had stolen the car." Priceless.
  5. "Sounds good to me Cliff. Let me know a date, and I'll come over. Shouldn't be hard to do my boat. I'd like to have the sticker." Sinker The only thing you need in your boat to get to Cliff's is a long push pole...

  13. Similar to letting all the line out behind a movin boat ...try walking it out upwind in an open area...field, park etc. then rewind the loose line keeping tension on it with a thumb and forefinger at the rod... Hope this helps... I walk it off a second time only anchor the loose end and keep a good bend in the rod as I rewind... BTW...I find soaking a reel in hot water helps fibre washers in the drag on a reel that was put away for awhile without loosening the drag...
  14. OFC to the rescue again !!!
  15. There were a couple of enterprising snorkeling teenagers that sunk a spring innards out of a mattress below the dam at Bobcaygeon many years ago (60's)...After they were caught the judge made them remove it themselves... I watched them come up with handfulls of tackle but thought they just picked them off the rocks down there...lots of bucktail jigs and Rapalas... I don't suggest the mattress thing but the areas below dams should help fill your tackle boxes...
  16. Here's a guy that knows what he is talkin' about...

  19. Maureen is having trouble with her phone and computer so she asked me to post this: Hi Maureen, We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the fishing fundraiser and auction for our son Tyler. Whether you helped, donated, participated whatever your part we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Words cannot express our gratitude. So many doors have been opened for Tyler because of everyone's generosity. There are really no words to convey how we feel. We just wish that Tyler could show each and everyone of you the progress he has made over the last 4 years and that is because of generous people like yourselves. When Tyler comes to the lake he is really out of his element and it is very hard for him to stand there especially this year because the sun was so bright on the snow and he has sensory difficulties. We wish that Tyler could talk to each of you because he can now. He can answer some questions. He is learning to read. He is counting and recognizing numbers to 100. He can say and recognize all the letters in the alphabet. He is learning to print and enjoys it. He has tried Karate. He plays bingo and board games with us. He sings in the shower. He is a great kid. Thanks everyone, Elisa and Terry French
  20. Christmas of 1948 I received my first rod and reel...up until then I used a bamboo cane pole...The rod was spring steel and the reel was a Shakespeare "Wondereel" (right hand retreive) (no free spool...everything turned when you casted...handle included) so I learned to cast with my right and switch hands to retreive...Along came open faced spinning reels with left hand retreive and found it easy to cast right and retreive left...but when the new version of baitcasters came on the market I naturally bought a right hand retreive 'cause it just felt right that way...
  21. He could have Bernie...remember...It was Shelley (Lady Walleye) that taught him...
  22. You might try re:booting your PC Jack...I know it is a pain with dial-up but sometimes that works...or maybe even just clearing your cache (cookies, history and temp files) via "tools" does the trick...
