The guru of rod builders has the correct answer to the question Corks rings are expensive, and eliminating cork saves companies money, eliminating cork altogether saves more money, hence the eva foam. Reps and Pro-staff will tell you a whole bunch of ideas on why its better, cause they are payed to, but in the long run, its your decision, and your decision should be solely based on your preference, but the lightness thing that they talk about is really a non-issue and something you will not even notice especially on a musky rod as your only talking in grams.

You can never judge a book by its color, which ive been known to do myself, thanx for posting, my issue is governments both Canada and the US, will send millions to foreign countries, while our own sleep on the streets, not knowing where their next meal is coming from, and many of those are war veterans, who fought for our freedoms.

An Amazing New Float Reel Built By A Fellow OFC Member!
esoxansteel replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
Nice looking CP's, and very uniquely ported as well, seems to be some interest in millrights turning out great pins and flyreels of late, match it up with a Speil creation, and your all set for the October rains -
Only certain dams are closed, the ones up the river road to lakefield opened last weekend, and are not part of the sanctuary extention, as well as a few others.

Anyone have any comments on the Temple Fork Outfitters BVK Fly Reels, yey or ney, they look nice, and light with the porting, and well built, but has anyone fished it, and how is the drag system

Does anyone know if this truck has dual wheels, or just a single rear wheel? might help to narrow a search, they mentioned that it was a common truck, but out of all the Dodge trucks this is likely one thats not as common, as its a specific heavy workload truck. Hope he is found safe and sound

Thread Epoxy works great as well, and you have a slow set-up and cure, and ample time to get things in the clamp

OFAH wants nippising gill nets pulled !!!!!
esoxansteel replied to fishindevil's topic in General Discussion
Looks like im eating alot of crow, and my sincere appologies to the OFAH, as Chris Robinson senior biologist for the OFAH, explained to me personally how the Zone areas work and the executives on each Zone area as well, and as always OFAH decisions are based on scientific evidence whenever possible. Thanx again for your pm Chris I would have posted sooner but it took a long time to get the crow feathers out of my mouth -
OFAH wants nippising gill nets pulled !!!!!
esoxansteel replied to fishindevil's topic in General Discussion
OFAH isnt that the same organization that would NOT support a 2 fish limit for steelhead in Lake Ontario (FMZ 20), when all OFAH zone areas were in support of the 2 fish limit. Thats what i call representing your members well -
I taught i saw a putty tat, or maybe its the Beaver that built his home in the fisheway

Throwing lighter size musky baits like you would be throwing, i would scale to a hvy action rod, with some slight tip flex, your rod length based on your height would be fine, in fact for those baits like musky killers, and also bomber long a mags etc, i use a flippin stick with a low profile bass reel spooled with 65lb pp, casts a mile and works great for those baits, and smaller creatures etc. if you want a musky rod the Tackle Industry ones are nice, without the hefty over rated price of a St. Croix lengent tournament, the cork on the TI is thicker then other brands which might benefit you if you have big mitts and you can buy 2 TI's for the price of a legend, and still have enough money left to spool both outfits, and TI's are very light as well
