  1. Jeep Grand Chugokee. I wouldn't buy a chrysler product even if I was promised eternal happiness...not because of this video but for the obvious reasons.
  2. Beautiful walleye...it sure has shoulders on it!
  3. The bird with the red markings is the grouse. The partridge are the brown/grey ones and taste batter. This report reeks of autumn!!
  4. Really cool blast to the past. That's a nice collection and good memories.
  5. I vote we set up a Leafs vs habs section on the site. This is way too funny. I've been a jets/coyotes fan for a long time. Our team was a bunch of suckers () for a long time so I deserve a casting deck () to watch these two bottom feeders () go at it. Hockey is just as unpredictable as fishing sometimes.
  6. Wow that comment made hope winter is here sooner than later.
  7. I've been regularly checking my local river for the steelies too, but so far nothing. I'm new to this area so I've got to put in more work than the average guy. I've learned a lot so far on my own... Sounds like you got a handle on steelie patterns. Good luck out there.
  8. Really cool report! Those trail shots are awesome, I always liked fishers but they are hard to see in bush because they're so stealthy. That one walleye is a monster. Congrats to your father.
  9. It's worth the effort. Those hard fought battles of getting you and your gear through the bush only to find EXACTLY what you want are very rewarding. I do the same thing, but usually there's a bunch of chub waiting like hungry puppies at the river. haha. It'll be a nice surprise when you hook into a 10lbs steelhead.
  10. 2-0 boston in first period. Price has a whopping 2 saves.
  11. Nice fish Drock. Wish I could catch some bows. Hope I will soon.
  12. They had a GOOD pre-season last year. These games mean nothing. GO COYOTES GO. come back to Canada would you?
  13. I think I'll be keeping a few next time I go. I do the same with smelt...keep a few with the heads on and use it for Pike or Lakers.
  14. Stalking trout is definitely one of my favorite activities. That last one is beautiful!
  15. Is it legal to do so? I think that's a wonderful idea if it doesn't contribute to minnow aids or whatever that virus is. I wouldn't want to harvest them of course, but the chub love to swallow that hook and there are many casualties when they are aggressive (almost all the time). I don't think it would hurt to keep a half dozen 5-7 inch chub.
  16. Nice fish and good start to the bow season. I'm itchy all of a sudden:dunno:
  17. I"d recommend two things when buying off the internet. These lessons were learned the hard way. 1) Get them to ship via postal service not UPS or Purolator. Otherwise you may pay brokerage and taxes. 2) Use a Credit Card that has buyer protection on it. It the company sends you crap or you get ripped off, the credit card company will reverse the payment. I wish I had known #2 before getting burned. GRRRR
  18. I've never fished for salmon in the big lakes but I don't think it's that easy to find fish in such big water, especially as a salmon-newb, I wouldn't know where to start. I give those guys props any day.
  19. Those look like tiger bass. What beauties and congrats to you two on catching and netting that monster. I'm so jealous, Simcoe spits at boat-less fishermen....except for perchin'.
  20. If bass showed up I'd be even more inclined to get rid of them since they are an invasive species. In algonquin park they have warnings against the small mouth because they take over the trout areas. I agree that nature should run it's course, it's just sad to think how difficult it would be for trout to re-populate when there are 1000 chub per 100 meters. Then again, the decline in trout populations is mostly caused by people, NOT chub.
  21. I've been to some smaller rivers where the chub have overtaken a whole stretch of river, these chub grow large and act as the main predator it seems. Some I've caught in the 1-2lbs!!! range. I figure this has happened to a shrinking trout population (angling, water temps), therefore opening the door to these ravenous thugs. Once this happens I figure it is nearly impossible for the little trout to compete and the chub choke out the trout. I feel too bad just killing a fish due to my desire to intervene and therefore I don't, but I'd like to think that if large chub populations were controlled, it could open up the rivers to the trout again. It's definitely proof that trout populations are sensitive and are high in the river food chain.
  22. You go to your favorite trout stream and all you catch is chub. Are they strict competition? Do the trout feed on them? Is this natural or are they invasive? I've seen some people throw all the chub on shore...I can't bring myself to doing this even though I feel like they clearly have the upper hand on sensitive trout populations. What do you guys do with the chub and why?
  23. Hey buddy...where's your ad? I can spam everyone for you. Do nothing if you want that. hahaha
