  1. Congrats on her pb. That's a nice bass for sure!
  2. Let's see how they play against an NHL caliber team
  3. Oh ya, as northern said, dropshots!!!
  4. 3-4 inch tubes, deep diving cranks, spinnerbaits work well for me... But it heavily depends on the type of water/cover your fishing. Weightless tubes and spinners should work well in the grass and adding a heavy jig head will allow you to hop/drag the tube in deeper waters. Good luck.
  5. Haha I hear ya. Speaking of getting jacked, the gf and I are polishing a bottle of wine to celebrate the first games of the season. The Pens-van game has a better pace to it. Looooooooooo
  6. Its only the first game... And Don is only one opinion. Last year had some very low hitting games too.
  7. Judging by your original post (mudslinging and loads of money wasted), your thanksgiving dinner sounds like it will be epic!
  8. Mooneye and goldeye taste best when smoked imo. I did not enjoy the pan fried goldeye I ate a few years ago.
  9. Hahaha nice spin... elections or hockey, elections or hockey.
  10. Those browns are the Miss Universe of the fish world imo
  11. First was the pre-pre-report. Now we have the pre-report. Still gets more hits than my actual report... Maybe he's onto something
  12. Some great fish there Mike! I can't imagine catching that many musky
  13. Bahahaha. If I win, I will need a place to park it. Do you know anyone who lives near a lake? ;D
  14. I couldn't get the walleye to bite today so I switched to bass mode with a wacky worm rig and caught 3 nice large mouth bass. Smallies are much more common up here so it was nice to hook into some LMB. Weightless fishing isn't easy. Its tough to get a "feel" for the wacky rig since it's very much a visual style of fishing, watching the line for movement, the surface for boils and using polarized glasses to see below the surface. I found myself being very impatient and reeling in too fast and twitching it too hard but after I got my first one I slowed things down and worked harder at keeping the canoe still. I'm still a bass fisherman-in-training so I can only imagine how many 4 or 5 pound fish a REAL bass fisherman would have caught at this location. the biggest one was approximately 19inches
  15. Crazy big fish! Awesome
  16. I have nearly a hundred entries... Glad to hear it hasn't been given away yet
  17. They were forced by the province to perform an enviro assessment. I think they are waiting on the results at this moment. Capitalism isn't always the solution.
  18. And I don't mean a handful of perch bring a 5 gallon bucket.
  19. Pike are good from clean cold lakes at any size... But the smaller ones don't carry much meat, say below 22 -24 inches. Come to Nip with me and I'll get u into some good Ling, herring and Perch... First hand knowledge is the best. Any speck is good eating, but keep in mind the populations (natural) are sensitive. As for bass... Well, keep them all, make room for more walleye and trout. They taste good from clean cold lakes as well.
  20. Hahaha Go Jets and Coyotes ! I'm gonna have to make a decision soon.
  21. Hahaha hands off my canoe! I'm not dead yet. There will be a yolk installed by the spring. I already have two natural trout lakes marked for spring ice-out. Just after smelt and just before steelhead
  22. Nice haul. I'd love to see that fish head soup recipe!
  23. The Mepps Deep Runners are heavily discounted! These are great for casting deep to lakers, trolling deep and casting into fast current. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Mepps174-Deep-Runner-Plain-Spinners/703869.uts?WTz_l=SBC%3BBRcms196 http://www.cabelas.com/product/Mepps174-Deep-Runner-Dressed-Spinners/703868.uts?WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products
  24. This how I got my Pile-its lisence. My Dad still burns wood; in his new house he has a wood-furnace and heat exchanger. There is no open-view fireplace but the heat is nice and the wood is cheaper than oil/gas/electric. My condo of course is electric power with no other options. Its not very glamorous, but living on the third floor allows me to take advantage of the neighbors heat through the walls. Still, I'm jealous of those with wood or gas fireplaces.
