  1. Your onto something Johnny.
  2. I'm amazed too! "This is That" is a CBC production... as is "Dragon's Den". Watch or listen to the other radio episodes on the link I provided. In another episode they highlight a guy who commutes 120 hours per week from Calgary to Vancouver for work.
  3. ..And don't believe everything on "this is that" Listen to some of the radio episodes. In one episode they discuss the failing public transit system in Wawa.
  4. My link Tried to embed but failed.
  5. Use the search feature to look up some Simcoe reports, that's the best way to see how people are catching them. Good luck out there!
  6. We'll get them in the spring... As long as your not working the midnight shift.
  7. I tried an x-rap with no luck... And I don't think this lake has bass. Maybe it was pike rounding them up or Lakers?? It was neat to see open water smelt over 60 fow almost jumping into my canoe
  8. I was trolling for lakers on a clear blue lake last nice when I noticed smelt jumping out of the water, in dozens. This lake holds Lakers, pike, whities and walleye. I assume they are fleeing from lakers or pike which were maybe rounding them up. Kind of shallow for lakers this time of year isn't it? (Timmins area). Maybe the smelt are feeding? Anybody ever target smelt in lakes? Anybody experience this before? Should I be trolling the top 30 fow for lakers in the late summer? No more questions... Ok ?
  9. I'd hire Moosebunk as my personal full time fishing guide. Arctic char would be my first target in the far north.
  10. Haha. they are nearly as bad as them gubbermint hench men. The bank is what the bank is, you need money, they charge you for it... So be it. I try to circumvent negotiable charges as best I can... Why not fight if its worth it?
  11. Man, your having a tough go at it! Maybe your a walleye guy?
  12. I imagine the penalties are there because you can make a lot of tax-free gains on risky stocks using a TFSA. The penalties aren't there as a punitive teaching tool on how to save. They tried to penalize me for taking out my original 5 g's and profit after over two years. This was the bank, not the CRA however.
  13. You might enjoy Tilden, or Marten Lake, or Marian Lake...they are big lakes, get a lot less traffic and are only 30 mins north of North Bay on Hwy 11. http://www.fishmartenriver.com/marian_lake.html http://www.martenriverlodge.com/fishing.html I'm sure there is someone out there who can set you up with a shack and rides.
  14. ...sometimes the banks are "nicer" to certain customers as well. From your story, they are not being nice to you and these are not "laws" you broke, just banking customs. If the contribution limit is $5000 yearly, then overcontributions should be based on yearly amounts as well, not monthly. Is this the bank telling you this information, or the CRA? Don't believe the bank and don't hesitate to call the CRA. I withdrew my TFSA for a deposit on my home and they tried to charge me over $100 to "close" the account. I told them to keep $0.01 cents in it or just keep it open at $0.00. They orginally told me I couldn't do either so I wrote them a letter, called a few times and withdrew all but $10 from the account.... they actually GAVE me $100 as an apology. I didnt' expect the gift, but...thank you!
  15. A few of the sunset shots were really captivating. Nice haul of pike/walleye.... can't believe you managed a top water hit, but there was a photo so I do.
  16. The one photo has a really high worm to perch ratio haha. Cool report and great photos.!
  17. Sweet, less people fishing on Nipissing this year! I'm sure Nosbonsing, or Wasi or Tilden or even Temagami would have good outfitters. We rented a shack on Temagami once and it was fully serviced...but we were after trout.
  18. Funny report! haha. you guys are a hoot. That secret bait is quite..the ..uhhh... I don't know what to say
  19. Great stuff. What a fun weekend for the whole fam
  20. Great average size! Keep 'em coming.
  21. I caught a 5lbs walleye in Stoney (you do mean Kawartha Stoney right?) using a bright pink 1/4oz maribou jig, bounced off bottom in 15 feet. (Search "pink don't stink" on OFC) The same year I got last place in the Stoney Lake combo tourny haha. Well technically we "didn't finish"... Hit a rock and killed the motor. Actually I think that tourney is next weekend, or the following.
  22. My puppy also ran away today. Hahaha that's that then! I should make t-shirts for team 8 with the tourny logo printed on the front... ONLY team 8, the ASSASSASSIN8ORS!!! Wow, that sounds terrible with the extra a...
  23. Oh man, those walleye you post make mine look like french fries. And a 10lbs sheephead??... More like a moosehead. I drove by Nipissing at. 430 am and I wondered if anyone was out musky fishing. I'd like to try that some day.
  24. 24 inch vert! That's cool, even if its the little guys. The big one is a prize indeed!
