  1. I forgot to mention that... typically I just use 1/4, 3/8 or 1/8 oz normal jig heads, nothing fancy. I buy my jig heads from Gramps near Temagami. He carries some good quality jigs with good colors...and throws in a few free ones if you buy a lot. Good suggestion with the Swammer I'll have to pick some up next time I'm at Rack and Reel in Barrie. I'm really impressed with the Slammer model... by far my most successful bait on a dropshot. The Keitech look great as well. Thanks!
  2. With the impending shiner shortage this year I will rely on soft-plastics more than even. I have a few go-to soft plastics such as the ones below but I'd like to add to my walleye/Perch arsenal with your help. Thanks ahead for suggesting your favorites. 3" Gulp Shaky Shad http://www.basspro.com/Berkley-Gulp!-Alive!-Pogy/product/96071/139128 Yum Walleye Grubs http://www.basspro.com/Yum-F2-Walleye-Grubs/product/10222546/91181 Bassassin Walleye Assassins http://www.bassassas...es/CAT-E71D114/
  3. N.A.W. Stayed in Blair's shack at last years G2G...if you reserve early this year there might be a spot open. Hope to see you there!
  4. Haha Well said.
  5. I'm nervous for the team this year, but like you guys are saying, its some of if not the best hockey around either way!
  6. is he eating a rock bass?
  7. Hey Fisherman, Blair is setting up his shack on Callander Bay, which is the north eastern bay on Nipissing, on the shore of the small town called Callander. There is easy access with a truck, trailer or snowmobile. I'm not sure exactly where his is placing his shack but once I do, I (or Blair) can send you a map or post it on this thread. Hope to see you there!!
  8. Top notch Mike! Even my girlfriend was impressed... and she doesn't care much for fish pics. haha
  9. Callandar bay has been locking up nicely the past few days, but we are getting some above freezing temps in the next week. Hopefully the snow stays off the lake so the first layer is uninterupted. Still lots of time for it to freeze by the 28th.
  10. You might want to fillet, season and cook that fish before you put it on your plate. Chef Ramsey would SNAP on you!
  11. Right on for getting out with a canoe this time of year! You won't be doing this every year, that's for sure. Mine is put away and your making me miss it
  12. To answer the original question... no, I want ice and snow. The weather is pleasant however. 0 deg, no wind... feels like spring.
  13. Holy herring and perch and Batman! Count me in. I wonder if JoeyT will make it out this year? Or LadyWalleye...but I dont' think we've heard from her for some time. Thanks for putting this up Blair
  14. My boss is a real pike but at least he's not a bass.
  15. A bit smaller than the 4runner, but check out the new Kia Sorento. I rented one the other day and it is a very nice SUV especially for the $$. That engine pulls like a steroid donkey and it's loaded with options. I'm sure many people will balk at Kia, Heck even I do, but this thing is worth a double look. They have definitly improved they vehicles.
  16. I can't believe you guys are still catching steel like crazy this time of year.... awesome!
  17. it's getting cold again for the next few days... with little snow forecasted this will make shiny black ice!
  18. You bet it will. My brother has one that is completely beat up. It even survived 3 years in Kujuurapik, Quebec. He is mechanically deficient and still it starts every year within the first few pulls. If I were in the market, I'd be looking for a Bravo, it's the perfect reliable bushwacker... I'll have to look for used ones now.
  19. Oops. That was well before my time, never heard of the Irish sweepstakes... I figured that was the lottery in Ireland
  20. That would be a huge payout for someone in Ireland back then. I've been reading Frank McCourt books, so if their living conditions were anything of the like, I can almost understand how they'd want to get out. Franks early years were in the 1930s so maybe things had gotten a bit better in the 50's... Still it doesn't seem the most honourable thing to do to leave your people in the dust. Did they move to Canada after winning or stay in Ireland?
  21. I should change my screen name to Rod McCaster
  22. My Mom is the same way. She's won trips, concerts, cd's, a bike and countless other things. When I bought my first car after college, a Mercury Sable, she asked me to drop off a ballot at the dealership... Well that ticket won her and Dad a trip to Mexico! Edited to add: she's Irish as well
  23. A unique view of that area through your eyes. Thanks for the humbling moments.
  24. The half sandwich kids were super cute. and.. Mr. Potato head!!! hahahaha
