  1. Bassassin and I went out for an evening fish on Nosbonsing. The bite was slow and light but we did manage three nice keepers. The best thing about the night was the weather... somewhere around -5, very light winds, a cool layer of fog and a bright moon. we fished past 6 and caught our last fish at 530. Good times.
  2. Don't worry chicken little... at worst this will lead to a live bait ban accross the province. It honestly seems like the MNR is taking the guttless route and trying to wipe out the live bait industry. Bait dealers will get fed up with new rules, quit farming/trapping and the live bait industry collapses on it's own... then the Gov isnt' directly culpable for taking away jobs from people. I dont' mind using frozen minnows, but I feel bad for the suppliers/bait dealers... what a mess.... they have very little colaborative power.
  3. ...where do the knee pads go??
  4. It's been a quiet second period. All sweden in the first. Russia took quite a beating yesterday...they are not playing 100%.
  5. and no goals in the Junior game.
  6. Great photo Wayne. One of these two are probably my PB walleye. I might have gotten some bigger ones on Nipissing or on Lake Athabasca but I didn't measure any of the fish. I need to hit up quite or the larry
  7. That was great Brian, I've been meaning to go through the S & G collection.... I'll listen to some of their songs on Grooveshark tomorrow at work. Some more Mangan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6hVM2BkGv0
  8. Those were some great runs in that video and the background is jaw-dropping beautiful. I can only imagine what you did with the trout for dinner... mmmmmm
  9. I clearly remember your carp reports from the summer. That one slab of mustard is a real beaut! So is that brown trout.
  10. Wow! Sounds like a great start to the ice season. 4lbs is great for a spec, no matter where you are. Do you think it was a stocked fish or a natural? Cheers.
  11. I lost mine for my 4" auger... at Canadian Tire haha. I was bringing it in to find a new strap and I left it at an unknown location. Stupid me hahaha. Can Tire in North Bay doesn't have much in terms of replacement parts for augers. No plastic butterfly screws. No guard straps, no guards and very small blade selection.
  12. Apparently I bought a "canadian" sport license, not an Ontario sport license. They said I chose the wrong options online. ... yet my mailing and billing address were both Ontario based and updated at the time of purchase. How can it be otherwise??? Of course it's my fault, as the MNR's system is flawless. Well, no big deal, I can reapply for my sport license in a couple days and they will mail me a $51.77 sometime in the next two months hahahaha.
  13. Tell me about it, my fantasy team has the big three line and I'm second last place. Perry is putting up ok numbers but getzlaf and ryan have been a bust. I just traded Hiller the other day too... I really thought they'd be a decent team this year, but then again looking at their depth lines and there really isn't much there.
  14. i'm trying to call the outdoor card center at 1800-387-7011 and it's been busy for 30 minutes I have no idea how/why they charged 51.77 for a one-year sport license. I should call my CC company and tell them to reverse the charges... then carry on with my Temp license whcih says it expires in Dec 2012.
  15. Best of luck... hopefully we post some interesting topics to give you some good reading.
  16. Good stuff Freshtrax. Sounds like a fun trip. Those pesky 'bows, specs and splake can be difficult to catch at the best of times... I still havn't figured out the splake and 'bows up here yet.
  17. temperature range is 0 to -10 for the next week. Perfect ice fishing weather... at least near shore/sheltered areas where most of the bungalows are. I wouldn't dare travel far on Nipissing yet. Best of luck guys! I hope the fishing is great on Nipissing this year for everyone.
  18. I like the tip ups.. not to fancy but very functional! That auger cuts like butter! Mine used to cut like that but it's been beaten up quite bad...time for a new FinBore. Great video... makes me feel like I'm there with you guys.
  19. I really like the idea of using our collaborative powers towards lodges/charters... "OFC approved" lodges that offer a discount in exchange for clientel off this board. On the other hand, as a group we can't seem to agree on much so it might be a hard sell to get people interested specific products. Either way, this seems like a worthwhile initiative, Cliff.
  20. Best answer to the question. WSB.. in like a hurricane, out like a butterfly???
  21. The third time isn't any better

  23. Ok, That is impressive looking!
  24. Good advice Cliff. Even a non-Canadian company is better if it offers effective customer service. Or maybe they just had their ringer on silent by accident?
  25. an almost irridescent colour on those walleye. Very nice! That's a BIG lake.
