  1. Ordered a subscription to Ontario Outdoors a month ago abouts. With the deal came a ice fishing rod and foldable fillet knife. Not bad for free I guess. It's not Cadallic stuff, but hey Jack I don't need no Cadallic stuff lol. The knife I know nothing about, but the rod they sent is a Berkley light action and already spooled. I think ill be double fistin this winter Good magazine as well. Lots of interesting stuff.
  2. If your around the area head into Princess Auto (Dixie/401 area) they've got two Rapala huts on the shelf in the surplus section. Maybe you could talk them into a deal.
  3. Hey Lunker777 I started this post on one I bought a few months ago http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71745 Haven't used it yet, but I should mention which I don't belive I did in my post was the whole unit it's self is light and has a carrying pouch. Check out the link I provided. Let us know what you end up with.
  4. Better than a day at work as they say. I've got an uncle on Hay Bay. Says he's fished with a few tv personalitys
  5. Oh boy I'd love to eat those. Lots of good meat for ya there. Nice job
  6. Very cool report. Enjoyed the read thanks. Musta been some chilly at night up there at night. Outta curiosity what did you guys use to keep warm at night? I usuall suffer lol. What were the prints of? Cat?
  7. Scary situation for sure. 3meters is dam close to have those around.
  8. I think your right about the rally NAW. My father has told me the same thing. As far as roads go I was speaking to a Orilla Power Worker up there on Saturday and he told me that's the only way in really. There is some road from the north but it ends apparently.
  9. Don't need a 4x4 but I wouldn't take a civic through there although I've seen it . There's some soft spots from new gravel and a little civic type car could run into a bit of trouble. Something with some decent ground clearance is preferred. There's also a few spots where a car would likely bottom out.
  10. Yeah Joey thought about that today. I was keeping my eyes open Nick for moose, but all we seen was a fox on the way out.
  11. Took the girlfriend up to Swift Rapids Lock for the day. U was hoping to get lucky....in both ways lol. Not a single Fish caught which was disappointing, but had fun up Nord for the day. Sucked about 1:00am when my alty but the bullet. Thank god it wasn't on the fire road. Just some pics if the last 48. Btw never seen the lock fully drained before. Pretty neat. Talked to a guy working there and he said it was something like 120 sms (square meters per second) lots of water anyways. Drained lock. Becky at the lock adjusting her gear Bottom of the lock Just a few random pics fishin. Sorry no fish to report Night ended this way. Alternator shot. Ok. Had a spare in the garage. Thankfully not on the FR.
  12. Joeytier what the hell are u goin on about. You just ruined storage wars on me. Lol.
  13. Hey peeps was over at Princess Auto yesterday and noticed a Rapala ice auger for sale. Says reconditioned so it could have had anything fixed. You know the drill (no pun intended) it was the Dixie Rd. location, just south of Derry Rd Mississauga. Here's a pic I snapped. Price seems decent. looks like they only had the one. Just lettin you guys know.
  14. Gotta be nerve racking walking up to someone like that, that know he's been duped.
  15. Well thanks guys for the heads up. I expect the weather to be worse in the winter. Lol@ Keswick dinner jacket. We call it a Newfie dinner jacket. Looking at a few places on the MLS website. Anyone come from the Georgina area and commute to the 404/407 area by chance? Mainly looking for travel times.
  16. Why do in give a rats ass here?? I don't know. Lets get back on a civil topic here please. We all know the Leafs ain't gonna win a cup, but we love our team. Yeah I'm a realist. So sue me. Hoping for the best. Expecting the usuall......let's drop the bull crap. We're all hockey fans here. A little ribbing is good for the soul. Let's keep it about the teams and less about each other here, how bout it. Any perdictions for Friday fellas? Rimer in net rumor has it
  17. Hey guys. Real off topic question, but figured given the diversity here I'd ask. I've been looking at moving to the area of Lake Simcoe. Somewhere close to the lake in and around this picture here. My question for the locals traveling south in the morning is what's the traffic like at about 5:00 am going south? Is there an area or areas to stay away from? By the way the new job is 404 and 16th Ave. Just looking for an idea of what your commute Is like please. I'm looking at places within a km of the shore personally, but hopefully I'm going to get some serious replys. Currently in the city renting and looking to buy up your way. Can someone give me any advice regarding commute times? I've timed it a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't all that bad, but mornings are a different animal I know. Pros/cons? Please.
