  1. On topic did anyone happen to catch the huge fireball explosion in the sky last week. Forgive me on the actual date, but it happen around 2:30-3:30am between April 27-28 I can't remember the exact date. I went out for a Kate night smoke, just happened to look up and saw a very not so normal shooting star. Shooting stars to me look like a white light similar to a star. This thing was red/orange and exploded or broke apart sending hundreds of smaller red/orange pieces flying in the same direction as it was first heading. I saw this in standing in aproximetlly the middle of Brampton and it seemed to been moving over the Beampton/Woodbridge border in a South direction towards Lake Ontario. If I had to guess Id say it likely landed in the lake. Around the same time as this was happening I also heard a roar which sounded like an airplane, but not an air plane. It sounded very distant. Something I've never heard before, but an airplane sorta describes it best. I've asked a few people, but no one knows of it or anything. Anyone else seen this exploding fireball around this date and time. Btw the sky's were very clear that night and this thing stood out in the dark morning sky.
  2. Nice looking fish and spot man. Keep that place a secret to yourself. WTG!
  3. I myself have used both and here's my opinion on both. Box: depending on size limited to the amount you can carry. This isn't a bad thing though as I'm sure you know lugging around a heavy box can be a pain as it bangs and rubs your leg or hip. Water proof or splash proof whatever you wana call it mThe bottom of my old ones usually were a cluster damn of loose hooks, bobbers, pliers, line...you get the idea here. Bags: currently on my third. I've found that the bottom wears through the fastest and have had to replace a few for this reason both being Plano. With all the replacements I've found myself having spare lure boxes that I seem to fill with more stuff I'm unsure I really need, but it gives me the opertunity to mix and match the boxes to what I'm fishing or want to bring. Lots of pockets for storage of all your gear. Usually a strap to carry on your shoulder to free up a hand, downside is if the bag is heavy its no easier than a box I find to carry distances and shoulder fatigue dose happen to me at least. If you do find yourself in a rain storm the bags obvisiouly get wet and any unprotected gear will rust or whatever. Just remember the bigger the heavier its gonna get and that may be an issue good luck with whatever you choose. Pidge.
  4. Incredible! Water looks nice and calm. Way to go!
  5. Geeze those are some big ol fish. Not sure which ones the tank as they all look huge to me, very nice job. I visited that area a few months ago with the girlfriend....just out for a drive and that gorge is some deep. Good on you guys for gettin out.
  6. Nice stuff. Wish I fared out as good. Do you keep them for eating?
  7. Neat. That's some pretty cool shots.
  8. Hey Grog, I was over to basspro yesterday and they've got the one I linked in the previous post on sale for 29.00. Thought you'd like to know.
  9. I run the clamp style on my Jon Boat. Bought at BassPro last year. Wasn't to expensive, but the seats can be. I went the cheapes route and I'm happy. There are 4 sheet metal screws that need to be drilled in to hold these little lip bracket things that hold the clamp from popping out when you lean back. This is what it looks like outta the box. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/jon-boat-seats Works well and I'm happy.
  10. Cool video and editing. Really cool you guys were getting double headers, that's awesome. I really like your boat as well. My kinda rig. Thanks for sharing good stuff.
  11. I run a small 5hp 2 stroke Nissan which is the same as Tohatsu. Great little motor in my opinion. Never let me down. It's my understanding with two strokes they like to be wound out or at least darn near full throttle. Any one know? But back to the point...I would give them a look at. I've got the gas tank built in and I love it. Got it on Kijiji for a song and in new condition
  12. Just watched the whole vid. Pretty awesome trip I'd say. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the fellows that actually did it.
  13. Pretty cool looking. Nice hobby I'd say.
  14. Thanks Mike. I'll do just that then. Clever idea I guess Paul, but I can only imagine the mess if it opens. No offense, but I rather not go the washer fluid route. Thanks though.
  15. Can't wait to get out for some Simcoe fishing. Got a date booked for the 16th and 17th. I'm going to use my brand new never used new to me fish finder and rig an arm or something for the transducer. For the the guys and gals that use there finder on the ice do you submerge the transducer down the hole until its completely under the ice and if so by how much? Pidge
  16. That's a pretty sweet sized cod your mom in law caught there wow. Looks like you had a feast there to boot which is always nice. I have fond memory's of fishing there as a kid catching Tom cod, flat fish, trout and the odd eel. Where abouts were the pics taken? My mother is from Carbonear and dads from the opposite side. St.Georges area.

  18. Nice report mang! That sounds like a trip of a life time. One day I'd like to do the same thing hopefully. Very cool pictures.
  19. Damm we had perch in our bucket lol. Sucks you had a bad time, but I haven't had a bad experience there.
  20. Google "Casey's ice huts" in Port Bolster. Used him and only him for day huts. Really good guy that runs a good ace for ice fishing. Night time acomd. As well, but never went that route. Biggest perch caught there with plenty others for the table. Thumbs up Tah can't wait for 2014!!
  21. Hopefully it'll come. I'm excited to see what they pop us with. "Grey wolf" is 9 this summer and that looks like it fits the bill. I'm a Nissan truck guy, but drive Fords (f150) for a living and I can attest they take a really good beating all around. Hopefully they (Ford) pony up and make this a real solid platform. Fingers crossed.
  22. Sweet. Doubt very much it'll look like that at all, but a boy can dream.
  23. A Christmas story. Who can't relate to little Ralphie lol. The Griswolds are a hit. And last but not least. Elf. It's newer with Will Farrel in it and its pretty funny.
  24. Not sure how well the cheapy modles are, but they do sell other brands of the same looking thing in Walmart/electronics stores. I've seen them there for around 50 bux. Just an FYI.
  25. To me from me (the best gifts lol) was a buddy heater. My sister got me a nice digi scale and some fish bum tees.
