Spent the weekend at my bud's place at Lake Erie. Got a late start on Friday and by the time we got there just enough time to eat dinner and sit outside and watch one heck of thunderstorm move in for about two hours, one heck of a light show until it got right on top of us. We had decided that because of the storm we would go out and get a limit of perch and then try for some eyes, the perch were more than willing, pretty much up and down fishing Saturday morning with a lot of doubles caught along with a lot of white perch and white bass. Had to sort through a lot of small perch to fill our tickets with decent fish. After the perch it was time to turn to the walleyes, we set up trolling along the border west of North Bass Island running a four rod spread and we couldn't keep rods in the water, started off catching two nice size eaters then the eyes kept getting smaller, it was good to see a lot of smaller walleyes for the future. Along with the smaller fish we caught some big perch (figures we already had our limit) and a ton of big white bass. Because there was only two of us on the boat it made for some interesting moments, we caught a ton of fish just not what we were after. Here's a shot of two of four that made it to the box. Forward to Sunday morning, my buddie's son came up and he wanted to do some perching so with the short amount of time to fish and because we did so well on Saturday we figured we could pull a three man limit in just a few hours, ....WRONG Seems the sheepheads wanted to play and we couldn't get away from them. Baaaaahhhhhhh We ended up with just about two limits of perch, ran out of minnows and the wind completely died and it was getting hot so we called it a day. Another fine trip to Erie is in the books

I owned Chevy vans for over 30 years (four of them) only one was bought brand new and it was the only one I had any problems with (blown torque converter) 500 miles after warranty ended up putting over a 160,000 miles on it and I would still buy another. I currently drive a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 that has over 140,000 miles on it, and have 100,000 miles on it in just the last three years and the only problem I had with it was I had to replace the u joints (that was my fault because I didn't realize they needed to be lubed) and a new fan blower. I do/or have done the proper maintenence on my vehicles. I'm not ready to give up on North American vehicles

Today is TG's birthday and to celibrate he took off early this am with his lovely bride to visit his favorite lake in Northwestern Ontario. Beside the fact that he will spend most of the day on the road on his birthday I couldn't think of to many places I would want to head to on my birthday Not going to mentioned how old he is today but I hope I get around like he does at that age. I guess if I keep hanging around him he'll get me on the path to healthy Happy Birthday TG and hope you enjoy many more! Cheers!

Rich we use something real similar for the perch on Erie only we hand tie our own #4 or #6 hooks and bait with lake shiners, usually do three hooks max. When the perch are really on the feed we will catch a lot of doubles and even a triple occasionally

I agree with Joey on this one, you showed a lot of restraint. I'm not so sure I would have been able to the same. A few years back on another popular lake in Ontario I had been fishing a point of an island three straight evenings and had something very similar happen by the same jerk all three nights. I had my son with me all three times and he even said to me the second time it happen how dangerous it was, well the third night and the third time the guy came through I lost it and went after him, my boat was a lot bigger than his and a lot faster so when I caught up to him I ran circles around him until he stopped and proceeded to have a talk with him. He informed me that he had every right to run his boat where ever he wanted that I shouldn't have been there in the first place (he was referring to me as a non citizen). Well I could clearly see this guy was a complete idiot and away I went. The next couple of days I went out of my way to make passes (in a safe distance) near where he sat while he was fishing his favorite spot and each time I would just wave as I went past. I wasn't very proud of what I did in front of my son but I didn't like watching the guy hold onto his boat for dear life everytime I went by him. What I don't understand on the West Arm is why people feel the need to run WOT under the 64 bridge, I've seen it multiple times each time I've been there and last year a guy came through there in about a 26' boat WOT with three us fishing the area, one of the people I believe was a relative of Uncle Bucks and I thought for sure the guy was going to either hit them or swamp their small boat. Is this not a no wake zone?

Jason I was pretty tick off when they traded Josh myself, I would have like to seen him stay and the Reds shipped off a texan instead.
