Should work fine with a finesse reel. Buddy uses a Pixy SPR and DX701. I'm thinking of using the XX Drop Shot rod or a DX702SF with my Daiwa Fuego.

Although used mostly for largies in the US and Japan they work really well for smallies. Gbay and simcoe should be killer. Tried on NRX852 but a little too stiff, still have to find a new combo for it. I have a bunch and will get more at the Show this weekend.

u can find a used curado e for that price. would work wiht the presentations you mentioned above.

Just buy a shallow spool reel. Lots of options.

Don't telly like the new reel seat and guides. The blank is pretty nice.

i had 2 of the old ci4 stradics and i had some flex when using moving baits. i highly recommend the sustain or regular stradic over the old ci4. i have yet to try the ci4+ on the water but the new finish is purdy.

buy a travel plan from your carrier.

i'm looking at a new setup for ice fishing. been told to go with under armour 4.0 base layer, a 2 piece mustang survival suit, and some quality boots.

The ci4+ is nice but will not handle the lighter baits as well as the Core.

I mainly use jerkbait in the fall for smallies, never had much luck in the largies. I like lipless for largies more. Depending on lake i'm always throwing a Megabass 110 or OSP Rudra Rods: Megabass XX Jerkbait Special and Simax TS Jerkbait Reel: Megabass IS63 and Daiwa Fuego Line: 20lb SX1 or 12lb FC Sniper.

Just bought the Nikwax kit (cleaner and treatment) for $23 at lebarons. Will give a review after a few outings.

This is why i only buy rods from few manufacturers / tackle store that goes out of their way to help me as a paying customer. Bring in my broken rod, they give me a replacement and they get their replacement from the manufacturer. If a charge is needed then so be it but at least i don't have to wait a few months !
