Send it in to Shimano for sure. I hate working on spinning reels, they have the proper rig to reinstall the reel properly and if 1 part fails i'm sure a few others will need to be replaced.

nice..i prefer the jbs for jerkbaits and topwater, the flatside is also a nice crank rod.

Sunline SX1 and FX2 is also great line. Smooth and round.

columbia pfg, UA, and simms long sleeve are great for fishing, the worst are tournament shirts..haha

20lb leader is a little too strong. I've caught some huge smallies and pike on the Jbs with 12lb no issues.

This year I ordered some Sunline Reaction FC to try with a CQ51.

I use the JBS with 20lb sx1 and 10-14lb sniper. I use Albright and no problems. I know 3-4 other people use uni to uni with the same rod and no issues.

Tried them all and the Megabass XX jerkbait special is hard to beat. Like Mike said it's designed perfectly for the task.

Aikman's is an authorized repair depot. I doubt he will continue to take care of warranty or service. Customers are now told to contact Shimano canada for all warranty and service for Shimano/G.Loomis. Stores are told not to give replacements or take broken rods.

I'm fine with non lifetime warranty as long as the manufacturer's offer better quality products for less price. when they throw the same crap @ you and take away the lifetime warranty then that is a bad step backwards

G.Loomis warranty is still lifetime for defects and workmanship. All warranty rods will be inspected and approved. G.Loomis has discontinued the wild cards for any rods. They now offer expeditor program. $125+tax for imx-NRX and $100+tax for gl2-gl3. Old wild cards will be honoured.

Sunline SX1 and FX2 are the best all around braid line avaialbel. Tough, Super Round, and smoother than all braid except Samurai.
