  1. There have been reports of wolves in the area. Doing some reading on the net it looks like the MNR and others are saying we have a cross between coyotes and Eastern wolves. The original territory for the Eastern wolf stretched a long way South of here so it is possible that there are a few in the area.
  2. I have the Yamaha 8 hp high thrust and love it but I don't think you will need that big. I run an 18 foot bow rider with three of us in it you just idle to troll. You can probably save some bucks and go 5 or 6 hp.
  3. my understanding is that the inspection allows you to licence it here in Canada.
  4. It's hard to find, I had to get my local tackle shop to order it for me but Rapala makes an electric rechargable. It is great comes with two batteries charger case 6 inch and 8 inch blades. Not cheap around $110 if I remember correctly but works awesome when you head North away from the modern convenience of electricity. Also I find it a bit heavier but not having the cord dangle in your way makes up for it.
  5. Darryl Cronzy's new fish batter. I did a couple of days ago. It has directions for breading, battering and baking. We tried some battered and some breaded and we all liked the breaded more. IMHO they were both good but the breading was good enough that I will use it again.
  6. There should not be a fuel pump on that model. It is pumped by a diaphragm on the bottom of the carb. You get 20 people looking for a new carb and maybe 1 might need it the others just need a good cleaning and rebuild. The Elans came with Tillotson carbs which came in two sizes HD and HR. I can't remember which is on the 250 elan. Make sure to get a complete rebuild kit not just a diaphragm kit. Also make sure to get it fixed before riding it. If the muffler is still good you don't want to destroy it they are becoming very hard to find.
  7. Looks like I won't make it this time guys. Sorry but something has came up. See ya at the next one.
  8. Don't know anything about the others, but you can never go wrong with an Eagle/Lowrance product they stand behind their equipment.
  9. The other thing I have seen is shaded black marks that can almost look like shadows. They can be caused from poor vapour barrier and will show over the stud faces and screws.
  10. Brian I am pretty sure I will be there as well.
  11. I also use the fishstrike 2000 and it is great. As for paying the extra to get Lowrance , my dealer told me that a lot of guys that do buy Lowrance never use the features that are costing you extra. Talk to a dealer who can explain the differences and listen to what you need and will sell you the most suited product not the most expensive.
  12. I can tell you that a 2006 8hp high thrust yamaha will set you back about $3400.
  13. Those of us that couldn't make it down appreciate the update Sam.
  14. You just had to rub it in didn't you.
  15. Thanks for all the help guys. TJ can Sam ship if I decide to go new.
  16. Product works great but just as a warning it is a very nasty chemical use all your personal protective equipment. My company won,t allow that chemical on any of their properties.
  17. I finally went and get my PAL and am now looking for a couple of guns. Do any of you avid hunters no of any Ontario internet sights that have a classified section for long guns.
  18. Thanks for doing the leg work for us. Make sure to give us a reminder that week, I have a great memory it's just very short.
  19. I am still working the graveyard shift but will try to make it whenever you schedule one. I would definitely make one during the London show thats on the weekend.
  20. I like any thing with the Lowrance name, it has never let me down. But I must say, I have the Uniden Solara as Fishnsled mentioned and it has been a very good radio so far.
  21. Has any one used this outfitter on Lake Kipiwa in North Western Quebec. What was good or bad, how were the hosts etc.I am still researching next years vacation and this among a couple of others in the area have my interest.
