Any body have a rough idea on what an older 18 hp Merc is worth on its own. It is upgraded to a 20 by a Merc mechanic. I would guess it is in the 70's. Price for motor, hose and tank would be helpful. Thanks Mike.

Saturday, doing the Thames river clean up in the AM, UFC at night and Sunday yard work. Maybe next weekend get the boat out.

Just to ad on my 115hp yamaha 4 stroke the dealer told me it can be done and they provide the pull cord but he said " trust me you never want to have to do this " I took it to mean always keep your batteries etc. in good shape.

The set up in my boat works quite well (IMHO), I was actually asking the question for my father in law he has roughly the same boat with different brand radio and antenna and cannot get the same reception that I do. He was wondering if he could make a change other than the longer antenna to help.

Nice thing about Jos is the service doesn't stop at the cash register. When I bought my Eagle it was my first chartplotter. He gave me his card and said if you ever get in trouble call me, I did and he walked me through the problem while I was still on the lake. He is just a down to earth guy, he actually invited me out pike fishing on his boat.

I am using a Uniden Solara radio in my boat with roughly a 3 foot antenna is there any way to increase the signal strength other than going to a larger antenna, or is their an antenna that will work better but can still be fairly compact.

Gerritt you lost me, is he the owner of viewsat? So far there support has been fantastic. What would you recomend? By the way how do you like the one you are trying out. Also what do you mean by blacklist.

I have to agree with FTA, but only as an add on. I run a bell sub and FTA to play with. For FTA I am running the Viewsat Ultra version 2, this so far has been a great STB.

Wendell look for a dealer other than Hully Gully I have heard more horror stories from that one dealer than all other dealers in the area combined. Complaints from the sales dept. right through to service and from street bikes to snowmobiles and boats.

Agree with all the others, I have an 80 on a 17 and a half foot and it works well. Also I would go 24V if you can.

IMHO because it is a safety device you should go with the best reception you can get which will usually be offered by a permanent mounted unit using a whip antenna, the longer the better. Check out the Solara, it's a good unit at a fairly reasonable price and has all the features you should need.
