  3. Hi all, Last weekend was crazy busy and crazy fun. Friday night we camped at our local provincial park. My buddy Garnet and his family stopped by. After lunch we headed out for an hour fishing while our wives and kids played at the beach. Garnet went home and about 3pm my buddy Cliff showed up to pitch tent too. We set up camp and the shenanigans began After camp was ready it was time for a swim and some tubing As the sun set, we dried off the kids, dropped the crew at the dock and Cliff and me headed out fishing for an hour. We skunked but had some laughs. At about 11pm all the kids were still up so we decided to take them on a crayfish hunt....BIG HIT! Although tired, I was determined to avenge the skunk....Cliff and me were up at 4:30am and headed out fishing......we scored some nice walleye a bunch of ling and some trout and were back at camp at 9:30 am Sunday morning was a quick trip across our bay to the Annual Teddy Bear Picnic Jack and mum went for a nap around 2pm and I took advantage of a beautiful afternoon and went out for a session on our lake When Jack got up, mum went to work and we took off in the boat together for the evening The next evening Jack wanted to show mum the pelicans....no pelicans but we caught a few small walleye and had a nice cruise around the bay What a great long weekend we had last week. This weekend i'm travelling down to Erieau. Cant wait to head out with Spincast and maybe bump into a few people i know at the Fish-a-Thon. Till next time....... Tight lines! oh....here are the vids from the weekend. Sorry....i swear in the second video at 1:38. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/BvxAJgYnPzk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/0rHjYlDTzok" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XLfNhX1eupY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  4. AWESOME! In my opinion the best way to fish lakers. Its like icefishing on softwater. Watching the fish chasing your jig is a sure way to get the adrenalin flowing. We also fished this way this weekend, like you the fish were biting shy. I am gonna try that lure set up...LOOKS KILLER MAN! Great pics and report....Love it!
  5. Looks like fun Dan....great pics. Cant believe how clear the water looks....could almost be the caribbean!
  6. Damn you....i would have loved to....but we are in Southern Ontario with Erika's folks that week
  7. Hi all, My buddy asked if I could 'help' putting a small tinny on his boat cache lake. Its a tough job and a big favor to ask but i'm a good buddy so could not refuse a friend in need We of course had to test the boat while we were there and it performed pretty well during the 2 hour test. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OyGIvzWYfWs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  8. It was a packed day for sure JB....really great for Jack having his new friends. No problem WD. LS is definitely a killer fishery.....i'm lucky to live close to it for sure. LOL...Brian i thought of a few things but decline to put it in print on a public forum....lol. Hehe...cruel?....yes....unusual?....no...its always like that at Lac Seul Will.
  9. Hi all, Had a fishfry with my fishing buddies and some other folk we know on Canada day. Of course the long and strenuous task of catching the fish fell to Cliff and myself...oh well. Its a tough job and someone has to do it! So of we went to Williams Bay from 10am to 2pm. Instead of doing my usual 'milk run' that ends out near the open section of the lake...we headed straight to my favourite deep mark. The reasoning being there was absolutely no wind, no chop, and figured the more active fish would be deep. They did not disappoint. For at least 2 hours in one spot it was fish after fish at 35'- 40' FOW...mostly nice keeper size. We did get into some shallower on a rocky extended reef/point in 14'FOW but no sooner than they started to bite they seemed to shut off....so we headed back to get our last fish for the cooler at the original spot and ended the day with an over slot double header Messed around a bit with slip bobbers set at 40' and Cliff went through a selection of plastics that increased in weirdness....they were biting anything. All the big fish were suspended half way up right up to ten feet from the surface in 40'FOW. Without watching the electronics you would not get them. Was like ice fishing for trout....jigging down the bottom...see a fish swim through twenty feet above your jig...reel up to it...WHAM!.....great fun. We got back and had a decent fishfry, some banter with good friends, went for a swim, watched the Towns firework display and did one of our own before the kids went off to their tent for a sleep over. We even got a Northern Lights display that evening! GOOD DAY. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5OFg-MmKg4Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hVkn5WMuEsc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  11. Dood....you'd always be welcome anytime....no notice needed just come on up . If we have no fish left....oh well...we would just have to go get some more
  12. Hi all, Went out with my buddy and his eldest daughter for some back lake walleye fun. Was a scream as usual, lots of messing around....good job we had Alexis along....needed at least one responsible mature person along with us....lol. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/w-1NGr_GAhw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  17. I worked at a first Nations High School in Sioux Lookout. I was fishing with 4 Status students when approached by 2 Cos. # of the kids were not old enough to need a license but one kid was 19. The COs were going to charge him because he was from another Treaty area and would have needed a letter from the Chief of the Treaty area we were in stating he ( it was Chief Clifford Bull Of Lac Seul 1st Nation they said would need to have given permission) had permission to fish there. He said the only exception would be, is if the kid had direct relatives who lived in the treaty area we were fishing that would exempt him. The kid said he had a mother from Sioux Lookout and in his next breath as the CO said " you're ok then" and started to put his note p[ad and tickets away, the kid says...."but she died"...if it was not so sad it was pure comedy! The Cos confewred for a few moments, said to me they were not going to book him because it would never hold up in court even though they were right, checked my license, and rode off on their snowmachines. The moral of this story is that apparently...even if you are status, if you are fishing in another Treaty Area you need WRITTEN permission with you from the Chief of the Treaty area you are in.
  18. Being of African descent i find your use of the term 'Lynch Mob" offensive.
  19. I have never really truly, in my heart of hearts subscribed to the fish are just a bonus' concept I actually had over twenty five minutes of vid and way more pics....but edited because i know the lake is recogniseable from my post, but my exact location on it would be more difficult to discern (hopefully). The trout mojo was all Cliff's! Yuppers Corvy...just one of those days when it all comes together....had plenty of days when the opposite is the case! LOL...my crusty sneakers?
  20. 4x4 with an outboard strapped on usually means good times are not far off. Great report.
