  5. I have an X67c and an X4. The x67c is color.....the x4 black and white. I definitely noticed a slow performance with even the screen looking a bit funny when i had it out in -20....i use it in my iceshack now. My X67c probably gets 3 or 4 trips before the battery needs charging....12V 7ah SLA.
  6. lowrance and hummingbird both kit their units out for the ice. Find either in your price range...make sure its a color TFT screen(black and white you will have probs in cold temps) and get the one that you like best....both brands are excellent fishfinders.
  7. Thats why they call this area 'Sunset Country'. Thanks Chad....hope to be ino some walleye and whitefish next wednesday. Thanks man, yup...hes a complete spazz....but we love him. Was windy, cold as hell...but yeah...fun to be out. Hey John. Good to hear from ya. As for the whitefish we got the other day...i usually make a kind of spicy fish stew with shrimp....i dont have a smoker. Thanks dood. I need a new computer...my existing one does not have enough 'uuumph' to cope with the GoPro. This lake always has good numbers....just not the biggest.

  10. Hi all. Well.....like most of my trout openers...this years was no exception....almost skunked....got one small one all day. After spending the best part of the morning trying to break trail we turned back from our original destination. Problem was steep hills/ bare granite and hardly any snow. Had a day off for chores in between then headed out this afternoon for another shot at some lakers. Instant results had me looking for the monster walleye that inhabit the lake i was on.....was not to be. THE TRAIL BROKE US NEW YEAR'S DAY AFTER A POOR OPENER I REORGANISED MY GEAR AND REDOUBLED MY EFFORTS THIS AFTERNOON I HEADED OUT AGAIN......ROLOFF WAS NOT AMUSED HE WAS NOT COMING NICE RIDE OUT.....INSTANT SUCCESS TOO. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cvfS2KeGlNE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> NICE LITTLE SESSION.....AWESOME SUNSET ON THE WAY HOME

Jig and minnows all the way. Lakers are open day after tomorrow....bring it on!
  16. I like the tourney as is. Yeah...some teams get 'stacked' but its the luck of the draw. I agree with the comment that it engenders the community spirit to have a team format....like they say...if it aint broke.....
  17. I'd have to go quite some way to get a catfish, great lakes trout
  18. Is it a go? Who would be up to run it? Anyone? Joey? I will be a captain again.

  23. Great pics Chad. Good to be able to put some faces to the screenames of some of OFC's usual suspects!
  24. I'm surprised i like to eat them either....they stink real bad when cleaning.....almost as bad as ling....but both taste good to me. There are whitefish in there....but i have still to work out how to get lots often. LOL...Brian, thats a good one. Poor crazy Roloff. Just jig and minnows...dont really break out much more than that until trout opens....then i unleash the lure arsenal! Thanks J! really sorry to hear your news, thoughts are with you guys. Not complaining at all...was awesome just to be out.! Yeah...i needed a fishing session too. Apparently its really quiet, my buddy said he was watching me go by when i was doing about 80mph....he said you could hardly hear it, but sitting on it it definitely has a throaty roar/rumble....i smile riding this machine. Good on ya, bit cold for the boat, no?
