  11. Ok Jacques, i like the handy work, i know what they are, but my wife has just walked past the screen and said...."that just looks wrong" whilst giggling.....made me laugh too.
  12. Hi all, Got an hour of fishing in before sunset in front of the house on Lake Wabigoon. After a pretty miserable year where the weather has really messed up the fishing for walleye on "The Goon", it looks like we are actually getting a normal fall bite, and I have been consistently landing 20"+ fish over the last 2 weeks right off the shore at the bottom of our lawn, about time too....lol. tonight the lake gave up a rare treasure...and I landed a 31.5" walleye just as it was getting dark, my PB! I'm buzzing still...with a huge Cheshire cat grin. In all the excitement, I forgot to put the tourney sign in the pic even though I had it right there!...but I was kinda hurrying to get the fish back to the water to fight again another day...which it did Vid is kinda long and includes a few smaller fish before thebig guy at the very end. MY NEW PB WALLEYE
  13. What he said....lol
  14. Good job Cliff, beauty looking fish. As for the leader...like someone else said....YA THINK!!???
  15. try also to angle the transducer slightly forward as opposed to dead level, its helped me...(i also have a lowrance) i can now do over 10 mph and get clear readings whereas when it was level anything over 3 or 4 mph and the screen was toast
  16. Sea fishing is still free.....for now. I used to only sea fish because of this...you have the license fee, then all sorts of tickets, then pay the land owners.....whatever! Great bass fishing all along the welsh coast( bass like stripers here).
  17. never stopped thinking about icefishin.....LOVE IT! just bought this little tilting 6' x 8" sled trailer yesterday for $300, ........new lights, new chains, new tyres(but i'm gonna put fatboy tyres and rims on and use existing as spares), new hitch, new decking( needs waterproofing treatment).......now no more borrowing my uncles trailer....READY TO GO!....and there was half an inch of ice on my minnow storage sytem(5 gallon bucket....lol) this morning...happy days!
  18. Hi all, could anyone suggest a store/s that have a large selection of snowmobile helmets in the St. Thomas and London ON area? I'm heading down that way for a week soon and would think that there is more choice than crappy tire and dealerships we have near here that carry 3 or 4 overpriced brands... Thanks in advance.
  19. Nice Pike! just like ya said....weather has really changed quick up here...last week it was shorts and tees.....calling for snow all this week...oh well...icefishing soon...bring it on!! Thanks for posting...nice gator for sure.
  20. Hi all, Just organising some of my 2 million (well.....seems like 2 million) icefishing pictures that i've taken in the last 3 years sincce i moved to Canada. Came across this one of my buddy Matt. Looks like he has a slight flatulent problem....lol.....his butt is on fire in fact! It is the paper mill's smoke stack in the backround....but made me laugh....never noticed it before. DONT EAT BEANS MATT!!!!
  21. Sorry to hear about your loss Joey. Love those pics of you and you dad fishing.
  22. Good work again Jaques.....now design me a pack for my portable fishfinder....
  23. Welcome to the site, look forward to some reports.
  24. Thanks JB, certainly am enjoying baby Limey Dude....he's awesome.......aren't you and LJ due to have a new addition too any time now? LOL...at least you haven't called me AUSTRALIAN....yet! BEN!!!....how's it goin' man. Good to hear from ya. I did a good few trips to Williams bay this year....gotta love that lake. I'm taking the sled to a pal in the next week to do some pre-season stuff on it....should be ready to go for 1st ice. Hopefully i'll be on the ice as early as last year...i walked out in front of the house(and skunked) on Nov 23rd. Thats great moparhawk.....very kind of you. I enjoy doing the posts too...especially when i get nice replies like yours...cheers Bud! LOL....thats exactly what i thought it was, it had done a line wrap round itself and i could feel it untwisting as it came in....absolutely jackfish behaviour....measured it properly when i got in...just over 18".....filleted it up...more than enough for lunch for 2. LOL....i know which lakes you mean...i think i fished on them...lol...never again. Funny you mention shooting film....me and my buddy Lew are going to do a proper fishing show style film of a couple of ice fishing trips this year. Yup...with the baby here now, having fishing at the end of the yard has turned into a necessity rather than an added bonus of where we live....lol. Yup, i usually always use that jig on Lake Wabigoon as it is very murky water...looks the same color as a Timmies double/double. I also like using that colour in combo with those little rattle attachments Northland make for your jigs.
  25. I had a 1/2 hour to spare this evening as my wife took baby limey for a drive to see if she could get him to sleep. I have not been catching any decent size fish all year in front of the house on Lake Wabigoon, but i was itchin to go fishing ( babies have a way of reducing fishing opportunities) so grabbed a rod and headed down to my rock. 30 MINUTES AT SUNDOWN FROM THE YARD Nice to get a bigger fish for a change......dunno whats been up with the fishing out front this year....hopefully w'ell get an excellent fall bite happening now. Anyhoo.....fishin is good anywhere...anytime IMHO....and even better when your 1 minute away from your newborn. IT WAS COLD OUT TODAY SO SNUGGLED WITH BABY JACK AFTER CLEANING MY FISH....HE'S SOOOOO DARNED CUTE!
