  1. I purchased a Humminbird ice 55 flasher last season. Love it! Never used electronics on the ice til then. U can zoom in on different depths of the water column, watch my bait as it descends, has dual beam transducer to narrow down the viewing area or expand it to a wider profile. Used it while jiggging walleye in 43 fow, saw fish at 20', reeled up, fish on! Also amazing to watch a whitefish dart off the bottom to hit my suspended bait! Without my flasher I would not have known there were fish cruising at different depths. Won't go ice fishing without it!! To add to what others are saying about the expenses involved to get out fishing, if I account the boats, motors, ATV, rods, reels, tackle, clothing, ice shack, heater, gas, motel, meals. My fish is approximately $852.00 per pound!! HAHA!
  2. Fisherman I did this procedure with my 12 volt ATV battery & it was successful. It had run very low on water as well. Battery has been good ever since!
  3. Charge it, discharge it a couple times, see if the battery does come back. This happened to my ATV battery. Water level was low, topped it up, it worked. One other hint make sure your battery is not sitting on bare concrete. Put it on a piece of plywood or a milk crate.
  4. Sail has Rapala 33cc gas augers on sale $269.00 Check it out.
  5. Thanx for the report Blair. Sounds like the walleyes were cooperating. I'm back in Fonthill after a 6 month stint in Fort McMurray. Hopefully I can make to your area this winter.
  6. Pour methyl hydrate into the cable. It will break up the ice/snow. Then add your lube.
  7. All the best in 2013 to OFC members! Bring on the ice!!

  17. Lottsa good drink suggestions. Thanx for reminding me about rum & eggnog. Used to be quite a tradition while still living at home with my parents & 2 brothers. Gonna have to try the dill pickle as a garnish for my caesar(s) tonight! Merry Christmas to all! Wishing you & your family a safe, happy & healthy holiday.
  18. Down south due to the lack of ice (no fishing) & really close to Christmas I decided to share the recipe for my favourite Christmas drink. Caesars!! 1 glass 8 oz rim this glass with the juice from a slice of lime then roll the glass in clamato rimmer to have an even coating of rimmer around the circumference of the glass pour in 1 1/2 oz vodka - preferably "Grey Goose" Add approximately 1/2 cup of regular Clamato juice Add 3 medium sized ice cubes After adding the ice add 3 drops of tobasco sauce then add 4 drops of worcestershire sauce Add 1 olive -the type stuffed with a garlic clove Stir this mixture sprinkle black pepper on top of the liquids add a celery stalk for appearance OR 1 of Matt & Steves "extreme beans" ENJOY What is your favourite Christmas drink?
  19. I have the same machine. Not too sure about the plastic guards to protect the CV joints. One thought would be to replace the plastic with aliminum plate that wraps around the CV joints. If I remember correctly a new CV joint was $200.00 for my 1996 Polaris.
  20. Yah Buffalo does need a QUALITY NFL team!
  21. I used Nautilus in the past got 4 years use from them. This past summer I purchased interstate. I use a bow mount Minn Kota power drive 55 lb thrust with the ipilot. Troll approximately 20 hours during a week end & still have about 30% charge left on the battery! Motor has battery indicator built in. Great trolling motor, great battery.
  22. Were U really expecting it to go down just before the holidays??? LOL!
  23. I have ice screws from CTC also a pointed spud. Punch a starter hole with the spud, screws thread in very easily. No need for a cordless drill. One less item to carry, or to forget at home!
  24. The bet is ON! Large Timmies & a breakfast sandwich is at stake!! Innisfil beach park sounds good. Lots of parking, easy access, & a short walk out to the perch grounds.
  25. Cooks Bay sounds good for me. Had a blast on Nip last year. I'll bring burgers & buns if someone can commit to bringing a BBQ! I'll be too busy hauling in fish to volounteer to cook! HA HA! Bring on the ice!
