  1. Awesome! Not too sure I'd wanna be in the water with that puppy!
  2. Wow! That's great that you guys still get together, considering the age group. Good on ya!
  3. Yup. As long as you're buying!
  4. Awesome! Thanx for the video. Those are some nice wallys. Only ice here in Niagara is in my wife's Caesar!
  5. I find the site is slow to load. It seems the advertising has to load first before I am able to scroll. Not a big issue just thought I should mention it.
  6. Sorry about the news Loonie. At least you gave it a good effort. Thanx for your work.
  7. Hey Old Reptile - On a hot day fishing with you they always go down quick. I worked up a sweat reeling all those walleye in for ya! LOL!
  8. I've never been further west than Thunder Bay, except my flights to Fort McMurray. The drive from Niagara up to Sudbury is a nice drive (except Toronto). Heading west from Sudbury to the Soo is mundane, but north of SS Marie is awesome! Hills, curves, scenic lookouts viewing Lake superior is fantastic! I just returned from White River this past Monday. Scenery is fabulous! Have fun during your adventure.
  9. Drifter - Please delete your weather forecasts. LOL! Makes me cold just looking at it!
  10. Don't keep me in suspense! What does it mean?
  11. There is no such thing as a bad beer! Just better beer!
  12. I'm in! It's on my calendar! You coming Ironmaker? Get your chauffeur to drive!!
  13. I carry a new spare hub & bearings in my truck for that reason along with the appropriate tools.
  14. I just purchased winter tires for the very first time? Not sure it was a good move.
  15. Wow! Lottsa good info here! I have several cards but the one I like the most is my TD Gold Elite Visa. Lottsa goodies such as free roadside assistance, 1% cash redemption on all purchases, free safety deposit box. But I'm definitely going to investigate my benefits of using my CTC Options MasterCard for gas purchases. Thanx for your info guys. Merry Christmas to all!
  16. Yah, me too! I set up my flip over Clam, checked it out last week, checked my auger, - it's ready to go! Just have to check out my rods/reels now! Gonna be +14C Christmas eve here in Niagara! I may have to cut grass!
  17. I was on a job at a new gold mine north of White River for 9 days. It's nice to be back & read all your posts. We didn't have cell service at the job site, but wifi was available back at the motel. If you're in the area the Continental motel is a very nice place to stay. Their dining room serves excellent food. I left Fonthill last Sunday, drove to Sudbury, picked up a 30 ton boom truck from a crane rental company, departed Sudbury Monday morning heading to White River. I drove through heavy rain till the Soo (+9 C), the further north I travelled the temps started to drop, then it turned to freezing rain, wet snow, then snow. The worst conditions I have driven in 20 years. I worked 12 hour shifts for 8 days straight. This mine is so far back in the bush, even the bears didn't know we were there! LOL! Amazing -the drillers/blasters found gold 10' below the surface! This past Sunday I drove from White River to Sudbury (8 hours), then Sudbury to Fonthill. I drove past many lodges/cabins along the way. Looks like an awesome area to investigate fishing opportunities. I'm definitely going to return in the summer to give it a try. On my way home I stopped at CTC to purchase new Christmas lights. Today I'm hanging lights! Then wifey & I are putting up the tree. WooHoo! Merry Christmas to all OFCers!
  18. Ironmaker - sounds like your an accident looking for a place to happen. LOL! It was good fishing with you this past season!
  19. I had a 2012 Polaris 500. I installed the hand & thumb warmers purchased from Polaris. Very simple to install yourself. Yes the hand guards do help, but I loved the new windshield I installed. Block the wind & it makes a world of difference. Contact your Honda dealer, they'll probably have warmers to suit your machine. There's a wiring harness you'll need to fit your existing harness. A slick trick to removing your rubber grips is to use a compressor to blow off the grips. Very simple. PM me if you would like further info
  20. +10 here in Fonthill at 6:15 this morning. I just returned from White River yesterday -15 at night, -7 & -8 during the day. I've winterized my boat but that doesn't mean open water fishing is finished just yet! LOL!
  21. Hey Lew - You have it all where you're living! The great out doors! Loonie - Count me in for the GTG, I'm flexible. I just returned from a job in White River yesterday. I don't have too much on my agenda at this point. "Old reptile" (I mean Ironmaker) has a good suggestion Wild Wings for a bunch of Wacko fishermen sounds good! I was in Orillia for the perch festival last year - Wild Wings in Orillia was very good!!
  22. There is nothing tastier than walleye cooked on an open campfire in a fry pan of vegetable oil 1 hour after landing it! LOL! I do like a feed of crappie though!
  23. Dara - Harte Mine. We travel north from White River on the highway which goes to Horne Payne approximately 35 km then onto the mine rd. (Goat Path) for approximately 20 minutes. It's in the middle of nowhere!
  24. Right now I'm on a job at a new gold mine 55 km north of White River. No ice except in my drink! I drove up from Sudbury on this past Monday in pouring rain +9 C!! It started to snow 20 km north of Wawa. Tomorrow +1 in White River!
