Arty, PM board member LUCG. He'll help you out with the launch info. It's up to him if he wants to share his secrets.

Once again Simon, awesome report, pics and vids. The hand/finger picture is really special. Makes me miss my little guy "Karter" as I sit here at work. I'm sure is alright at daycare. Can't wait to get him out in the boat. I hope he is more "game" for fishing then our 7 year old "Alex" is. I can only get him in the boat with his Nintendo DSi.

I replied to your PM before reading the comedy you posted. Now I see why you had a terrible weekend. Nice trailer. Ours is on a site in a paid park and will soon have a screened in room attached to it. No crown land camping for me. Oh well, my wife is happy and that allows me to get away with more. Hee hee. I now own 3 boats 3 motors and didn't even fish this weekend. We'll have to get out on the river some time.

Glad you made it home safe. Any chance you over-inflated the tires? I blew 2 tires in 2 years because I was follow the PSI ratings on the tires. Well........that rating is for the tire without any weight. Add a boat, motor, and gear and travel at 110kms on the highway so they heat up good and "POP"

Way to go Captain Stoty. Now we need some big number for Team "Ten"sion.

Luc, PM me and we'll go out Monday night. I might not get much fishing in this weekend because of having to trailer the boat to the Sturgeon river. We can try your new boat out on Callander Bay on Mon. Or my boat...whatever?

Billy Bob, Randy is referring to the north side of the lake. You are correct, the river runs North / South. The North shore of the lake (on which the City of North Bay is located) is very shallow. With the lack of water this year the entire side of the lake is struggling for launching boats. Regulars who have paid for boat slips (some costing $600+ per year) will have to keep them out of the water for a bit yet. Only 8" of water where my slip is. My trailer is at Glenrock which Randy mentions. We have at least 40 extra feet of beach. I'll take a few pics this weekend. I will leave my 17' boat at home in my driveway and try the shoals and weedbeds in close to shore out of my 9' punt boat. For the long weekend I'll use the river to access the lake. VERY CARFULLY I MIGHT ADD.

After reading that...my brain hurts. Thought this was a fishing forum?????

Well, with the wife gone down south and the 2 boys to feed I was in chage of dinner. As I have no more frozen walleye I reached deep into the freezer and pulled out Bluewater Hallibut in English Beer Batter. No bones! Not as Mmmmmmmmmmmm as fresh walleye but hit the spot and was an easy supper. Hopefully I'll eat better on Saturday night.

Keep adding to the map. Let's fill it up.

Ron, Don't want to turn this into a Lowrance HDS thread as I have already read a few on here. But....was it just the water that made it crap out? I have one and have it on my consul. I will keep it covered with a large zip-lok bag if I am out in the rain. Will that keep it alright? I'm 3-4 hrs away from any Lowrance service centre so it would be a long drive for me.

Good one. Not storing your tackle away properly can be a real pain in the ass.
-
I use the clear plastic minnow bags I get my bait in. You dont even have to stand up. Even on COLD days when "it" is more challening to handle the bag still works well. Just rinse out the bag and you can use again. 0 mess.

That's a big fish Rock. Terry that is a funny picture.

I just checked out the Member Map feature at the top of the page. I noticed that a lot of board members have not added their location to the map. I just added mine. Take a minute to add your location. It is also a great tool to see which board members are in your area.
-
Have you checked the water levels in the battery?
-
I keep mine on a shelf all winter as I was told it was the COLD concrete that drained the battery.
-
Randy, I'll be at Glenrock for 5 straight weeks from July 28-Sept 6th. Maybe by then we'll have enough water to have my boat in my slip. Any of thise weekends are good for me.
-
Yikes with the low water levels there would be more rocks????

I've lived in North Bay for 13 out of the last 15 years. Fished all the lakes around here but Nipissing is just sooo convenient. Frustrating but convenient. I have a trailer in Sturgeon Falls so I now fish the west end, and french river areas. Easy trips out to the Sturgeon river, Cache Bay, Iron Island, Goose Islands, and Sandy Island. I would like to do an area meet and greet some time. Would be nice to get a few local board members together.
-
Irishfeild, that is a great picture? was it taken recently?

some schools do competitions to see which one can collect the most weight. Then they receive some kind of award / reward for saving oure landfill sites and environment.
-
Welcome. Let's fish Nipissing sometime. Randy you must be a slow driver...I went to Sudbury today from North Bay in just over an hour. Sturgeon Falls is almost half way. We definately should arrange something for local board members in the Sturgeon Falls area this summer. I have a trailer at Glenrock on Nipissing. Maybe T.J. will all have us up to his palace a.k.a. Camp Jiggy. lol

We are scheduled to rent 2 houseboats from Bruce at Tamar Island for the long weekend. He told us last night that all the boats are beached right now. Would cause too muuch damage to drag them so they'll have to be lifeted and rolled to the water.
-
I'll set the top of the envelope and guess $61,000 all incl. Boat and accessories alone has to be $40 - $45. Motor is worth a pretty penny and then add the trailer. I figure my boat is worth $61....($6100)!
